This is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE pizza place of all time!! It's just a shame that I have to drive so far to experience it (I live in IN). I always order pizza, but I've been known to order Cassano Skins and chicken tenders. ALL of which are outstanding! (I hear that the subs are terrific as well). Back to the pizza. It is faultless. The crust, the sauce, the toppings. And ALWAYS baked to perfection, with just the right browning of their provolone cheese (I believe they shred it right there in their kitchen). We almost always do carry out, and it never fails to be a grand experience too. They're always on time, and the people never fail to be friendly and courteous; both on the phone when ordering and when pick up is made. First off I tried to order a meatball sub. NO meatballs. So I order a ham and cheese instead. I get my order and open my ham and cheese. Bun woth ham,no more. I call them to get a replacement with everything I'm supposed to get on it. It arrives in about 15mins. A bun, ham and cheese. I'm going to be very upfront about this review. I am partial to Cassano's and may not be completely unbiased. That said. I love this place! The server was super nice and took great care of us during our lunch meeting. The food was of course awesome. Who doesn't love a great sausage and pepperoni pizza on a wonderful thin crust. The salad was actually a surprise, but it shouldn't have been because everything here is great. Now, I'm not from Sidney so this is the part that I really love about this location. All the hometown pictures on the wall and cozy feel just make you feel good. Stop by here if you are in the area. It's a wonderful little pizza place. Why we don't have them in Cincinnati is a complete mystery to me. Next time I talk to the owners I will ask them. read more

If you are familiar with Cassano's Pizza King, this is not one. That's really odd since it has the same logo. But, their staff will tell you, they are independently owned. And apparently not like a franchise. Cassano's Pizza King does not list this location. Sure, they make pizza, but it became apparent as we tried to order from the www.cassanos.com website, they don't have the same menu. You cannot order online. Call the restaurant and they will tell you, they don't have a website or internet menu. "Come in and we'll give you a to go menu." So no specials that the other restaurants have, no toasted raviolis, no Big 60. Oddly no breadsticks, at least not resembling breadsticks... more like Pillsbury crescent rolls that weren't allowed to rise. So no Pepperoni Stuffed Sticks, no Jalapeño Stuffed Sticks. No tater babies. The pizza we ordered was okay. A decent Ohio pepperoni pizza, square cut, thin crust. But not the Cassano's we know from the Dayton-Springfield area. This is more like a "Coming to America'" McDowell's when you were expecting McDonald's! If you are from Sidney, you might know this and it's okay. But if you go there expecting Vic Cassano's, be prepared. read more

What's going on with this place? I use to really like this place, but now the quality of the food has decreased and it takes forever to get the food. Customer service is ok, but I have had better customer service at Chick-fil-A in Troy (of course, they have the best service around). Still, the pizza has too much cheese and not enough tomato sauce. Driving up from Cinci to Michigan, we stopped into this Pizza joint for lunch. We asked the server how the wings were, and she told us they were quite popular, so me and my buddy ended up ordering that with some breadsticks. The breadsticks came out first steaming, but they ended up being doughy in the middle... then the wings came out... they are the worst wings I've ever had, completely flavorless and disgusting. We asked for hot sauce and all they had was mild verde cholula. The sauce made the wings worse. My buddy and I could stomach only 3.5 wings each out of the two dozen we got (we can put down wings btw). Then we got our bill and the wings were not priced as advertised on the menu. The pizza here might be good, but the wings are not, and good pizza joints should make good wings. At least the dogs will be happy when we bring back the hefty amount of leftovers. The server was nice though, and could see our disappointment. read more

Wow! Very pleasantly surprised tonight with my carryout order. Cassano's has always been "ok", I personally have never felt it was as "Great" as others in Sidney express it is, but tonight it was EXCEPTIONAL! It was like eating a perfect pizza. It even LOOKED delicious and tasted even better. Got a couple of sides as well, all equally good. I hope this is the new normal for them. Whomever prepared my order was on point today....thank you! Favorite pizza if you enjoy a light, thin crust! Food is always fresh. Staff is not super friendly. Last carry out order the person taking our order was extremely rude. The man would cut me off as I was ordering to tell me they don't have a deep fryer. When I tried to apologize and question the menu that was online he got very short with me. This place is so consistently frustrating! WHY, every time we come here do we stand at the designated "stand here to be seated" oh, and also "RIGHT here to pay" location - up to a couple minutes - and can make eye contact with as many as 6 different employees who make no acknowledgment of our presence?! I swear I'm not wearing an invisible suit, don't look like the elephant person, am typically showered, arms aren't crossed and am even likely wearing a smile (granted, I'm sure the degree of smile has diminished over the course of these s*ck visits). The friendliness of the person telling us to "seat ourselves" was, I suppose, "friendly" if one considers the command didn't include projectile spittle accompanying the attitude of frustration and impatience in our having chosen to dine in their establishment. Although not necessary, as we knew what we wanted, the slow-to-arrive menus were in practice still probably a good idea. Should fear and intimidation accompany ones placement of an order with their server? Well anyway. The drinks arrived before the pizza, so I guess that was good. The salad ("appetizer") also arrived before the pizza so I guess having been able to track down another server (as ours seemed to be donning the invisible suit) to request said salad was also good. *Why am I SO demanding?! Who the h*ll else wants condiments such as salt and pepper and why does it irritate me to have to ask EVERY time?! I'm such a jerk! Pizza finally came out. It was hot and tasted good. It was nice sitting on the patio. Almost equally nice was seeing the server show back up to check on our meal more than halfway through. Guess one never knows, maybe during the latter part of the meal we may have needed something, you know, say the first and only soda refill for a nearly empty cup? In the end, our dripping-with-appreciation-for-our-patronage server nearly simultaneously dropped the check (careful not to make any eye contact when thanking us for coming in) while practically making a 180 dash from the table. Maybe she was in a hurry to *greet* the next invisible guests. Bottom line: In spite of the food nearly consistently tasting good, the service is nearly always as consistently very slow and very poor. What continues to bring us back is that it's only one of two places to sit outdoors without hovering clouds of cigarette smoke. It's also close. On Tuesday 8-10-2020 we stopped by our favorite Cassano's Pizza place in Sidney. Found this to be one of our worst times there. Wife ordered a salad and when it came it was all the heels of the head of lettuce. When pointed out to our server she said it must be a bad batch that came in. No sorry or let me get you another. Then when the pizza came the crust was so tough they hadn't even cut all the away through it. When we asked the server about that she just shrugged it off. I've been getting Cassano's pizza for years but we nearly always get it to go because the place is so small. Their pizza and bread sticks are good but they ALWAYS forget to put in the extra sauces for our bread sticks. Today was no different. When I told the girl there was only 1 of each she said they were double the size. I didn't ask for double sauce. I asked for 2 of each. She said it would be extra. Whatever you have to do. I just need 2 of each because we don't double dip. I was reaching for my wallet to get out the $2.00 when some guy (I want to say he was a manager/owner) very rudely said he'd put them in single containers. Then he said I should have told them that when I placed the order. Guess what genius I did exactly that when I called. I can handle a lot of screw ups with my order but don't treat me like I'm an idiot or an inconvenience simply because you didn't do your job correctly. Phenomenal pizza. Just plain phenomenal. This is one of the only Cassano's this still use the old way of preparing the pizza with the old concrete ovens. The taste is obviously better. The decor of this restaurant is great too, vintage sports oriented. Has a patio, beer, great service. Cassano's is the best pizza on earth, and this restaurant is the best Cassano's for sure. I try and order a pizza at least once every time I visit home. I have also tried the Troy branch and it was just not as good.
