I walked in here one day because it's near to my work just to see what it was like and to see if they could fit me in before I went out of town. The flamingo outside was what caught my eye first. Inside it's very flamingo-y too. I was immediately greeted and I got an appointment within a week with Ashlee. I loved her personality and what she did with my hairs. I got a highlight and cut. Grace was lovely to work with for my June wedding! As an out of state bride, it was tricky to get everything done in the weeks leading up to my wedding. Grace was able to fit me in for a cut, color and trial. When a few days went by and sun damage altered the color, she squeezed me in for a correction which turned out perfectly! The trial went great and she documented all angles so well. The day of the wedding went perfectly. Grace was able to set-up in a relatively small space (Airbnb kitchen) and knock out hair for me, my mother and two sisters in record time! She had a great attitude and brought such fun energy to the day! Most importantly, my hair lasted through the whole day without feeling too stiff. The pictures don't do it justice. read more

I had a bad experience with my hair color not being what I want. The employee had a personal emergency during my hair appointment and was rushed. My hair didn't turn out good and I expressed my concern and I was told to look at it in different lighting because it wasn't actually "orange-ish" it was blonde. It would have been okay with it if the employee owned the mistake and said hey, let's figure out how we can make it look better. Then I unsubscribed from their emails and emailed their business two more times about taking me off their mailing list. Continuing to receive their emails after a bad experience in the salon prompted me to write a review about my negative experience. I hope this will help them not ignore requests to be removed from the email list. read more

We were recommended to this salon by someone in the FW community. It was our first time here and we loved it! Not only is the salon close to our house, but there's plenty of free parking, it's spacious, and inviting. Our stylist, Sarah, did a fantastic job on my son's hair. It is a cute salon very well maintained. I was happy with my hair, until I realized it wasn't what I was used to. Which is fine. I'm used to heavy foils and they stylist didn't give me that. I paid for a full foil and only Received what I would consider a partial. $335 later. I'm stuck with something that won't ever be my favorite. read more

I had a terrible experience here. I got my hair done one week before my wedding. It was messed up and I came back in to get my hair fixed the day before and the manager/owner argued with me and refused to fix it. She refused to give me a refund, and even when the hair stylist who did my hair offered to do something, the manger intervened and stopped her. She made the day before my wedding awful. She is so mean and callous, unconcerned about her clients. I spent nearly $400 on my hair and this was how I was treated. Don't go here. I hope they lose business and close down. Don't go here if you have a big event. They don't care if they mess up your hair and you have to deal with it. Reply to their reply: I can't believe your rude and terrible reply. I tried to come back to your salon to talk to you and all you did was treat me like you did not have e time for me and I was being unreasonable. I didn't yell or anything. I came in calm and asked questions and for over 30 minutes you just shut me down and said there was nothing you were going to do. You did not try to do anything. My hair is terrible and you are a liar. I told you it was my first time dying my hair red and you told me it would only bleed a little and then that it would stop after a few days. I explicitly asked you about the color setting in my hair when I scheduled my appointment and when my hair was being done. There is hair sealer that I have found that you can easily purchase from Sally Beauty. You told me I was being completely unreasonable when I asked you for a color sealer and they are literally everywhere. You did nothing to seal the color and it is ruining all of clothes. You told me when I came back that it would always bleed and I just needed to deal with it. You did not offer to do anything or any other solutions. You are a terrible person who lied to a person who wanted to dye their hair a fashion color the first time, then completely gaslighted me by acting like I'm crazy when I'm upset that it's bleeding everywhere. You outright lied and said it wouldn't be an issue after a week then during the appointment that it would stop after a few days. Thats what you said initially then suddenly acted like i shod know its going to bleed over everything. You take advantage of people and don't care that you charge all this money to people and won't help them when they have problems. Now you are trying to blame me when you gaslight and lie to me. Disrespectful of Your Time ... I like to share my honest opinion so everyone is aware before you excitedly book an appointment with Castaway Salon. Be careful of false display of smiles from Joy Sendegala. I had been made to wait for over 25 minutes on many occations by Joy Sendegala who is novice, beginner in hair. First time, I showed up on time for my appointment she was still half way working on another clients hair ...making me wait 25 min in my car.. I gave her a chance and waited. Second time, I showed up on time, Joy disrespected me making me wait 25 minutes again, before she atrended to me, a paying client!. Other times she would text me (I have plenty proof the way) saying she is going to be late ... always 15 mins late with traffic. I still gave her a chance and waited patiently. The last appontment July 18, 2024 was for 3 pm. I showed up 3.05 min first time, due to an emergency at home, given she has always made me wait for over 20 minutes...but on this Sunday July 18th, she slipped into the back room for a fake meeting and did not greet me until 3.35 pm for hair color. I am no longer tolerating this bad service. I respect myself and value my time. I am no longer giving her a chance. She has to change her behavior to grow. This constant lack of respect reflects this salon. I had been very tolerant and kind but only to be taken advantage of and disrespected. Joy shows no gratitude towards a paying client. I am never going back only moving forward with better respecting hair salons out there who value you as a person. By the way she did not cover my grays well, she burnt my hair and scalp .... but they can keep my money. They need it more than I do. Hopefully, Castaway Salon will realize a client pays for service, and a clients time must be respected. Kindess is free. This review shows what you might experience ... be careful. read more

Grace absolutely killed it with my hair. I went in for a wolf cut and wispy bangs and i stressed how much i wanted layers. i mentioned how its a nice cut for me since i have thick long hair. she took it a step further and helped get rid of most of the weight. she was so kind and helpful in getting my hair exactly how i wanted it. it's a super cute salon and i definitely recommend it for anyone that might be intimidated by other salons. she even gave me a goody bag with pocky and other treats. :) read more

I drive by this place all the time but I never realized there was a salon here! I was referred by one of my friends to go see Susan @ Castaway when I needed a cut. I am here to tell you, this is seriously one of the best haircuts I've ever had! I paid a little more than I usually do, $60, but this cut is totally worth every penny! I really love the care she took in making sure the cut was shaped right for me and all of my ends were perfect! Also, you know how sometimes it's a little weird or uncomfortable to visit with someone while you get your cut? Well, that didnt happen here. Susan was really personable and easy to talk to.
