Called and i received a callback same day. My case is a tenant/landlord dispute and Castelblanco informed me that they only work on pest related tenant disputes; therefore, we never discussed the details of my case as it isn't pest related. After reading other yelp reviews, I'm disappointed as it appears Castelblanco considered/assisted other tenant/landlord disputes not involving pest. I'm not sure why they mentioned they only deal with cases involving pests, but.. This was my experience. Fortunately, I also spoke with a San Francisco base/Los Angeles branch firm. The legal assistant took the details of my case on the first call. They passed the info onto an attorney to determine if they could assist. I was contacted the same day to schedule a consult with the attorney. Glad their scope of tenant law expertise surpasses the scope of bed bugs! Will post a review about my experience with that firm once finalized. --- Response to Eric: I'd suggest updating your website to feature pest infestation. My issue is a under the title "Slum Lord" as a specific bullet point you list. I wouldn't have contacted you had I known you don't take those cases. Your office was the first firm I contacted early this morning. I left my information. After no word, I contacted another office just before noon as a precaution/backup. This 2nd firm took the details of my case during my first call and contacted me back to schedule an appointment before your firm ever called me back. Of course, it's your choice on how you handle potential cases. Due to my circumstances (I'm a homeowner - fighting with Wells Fargo on Fraudclosure) and they only represent tenants (no conflict of interests there) - I was not able to retain this firm. I called for help w/another typical LACounty landlord/tenant issue. (Rat infestation inside his abandoned spiderwebbed truck in the front yard [4 yrs aband], just feet from my front door & directly across the street from a Sherman Oaks Elementary school, amongst many other things.). Quickly to the point: This firm handles "mostly" (I really believe, ONLY) bigger $$ class-action size cases SPECIFICALLY involving multi-dwelling complexes (Not single-fam rentals) where CHILDREN have been exposed to LEAD. (Whether I liked this kinda modern-day ambulance chaser biz or not, I appreciated their blunt honesty.) If this is not your EXACT prob, dont waste the 48 hours I did (great reviews/videos -elsewhere), or even 1 min. Cont.. Receptionist: "Someone'll call you back...". They do. A gentleman calls (next day) who's NOT the lawyer (strange..?) nor a lawyer (I asked) as a sort-of spokesperson for the company. After learning I don't have a lead poisoned child w/friends in same a my complex who also do, he told me a few disturbing facts about the issue and did so in a way, that if he didn't, they'd be in trouble or I don't know...?? My point is it felt like he had to tell me stats about lead poison. He ended our call by offering a consultation w/a lawyer anyway, whom you already know is NEVER taking your case, for paid advice. 5 Stars for being that smooth. -2 Stars for wasting all our time. read more

Whoo! Talk about a quick recovery. The owner of this law firm called me back in less than 24 hours after I posted my review. Now that is someone interested in correcting any sort of problems. To be clear from my initial review, I was seeking a free consultation, in no way did Castelblanco state that they offered free consultative services (hey, who doesn't like free stuff?) I still stand behind my entire experience but Eric shared with me that they are a family business interested in helping the community. He was very shocked to hear that I had such a terrible experience and wanted to take it as a teaching moment for his staff. I was honored to be a part of this teaching moment. He wanted my feedback to better his interactions with new clients. We had to have been on the phone for about 15 minutes. I told him the reason I really wanted to do business with his firm was due to all of the positive community work shown on his website. I got a job in LA in the "Industry" (Movies), and I needed a place to live quickly. I moved into this secondary unit. (mother in-law unit) that was carved out below the owner/landlord's house. The rent was cheap and the utilities were included so I took the place. Three months into living there, the owner asks me to pay my portion of the utilities because I was using more energy than he expected. The apartment does not have a heater and I was using a space heater to heat the entire two-bedroom apartment. One quick letter from Castelblanco Law Group, and the issue was solved. The letter that was written was affordable and professional. In fact, I think that the owner/landlord is scared of me now. I mean, who wants to be sued? A few months have passed and I am now living in peace. I am so grateful for the resources and advice from the attorney's there. It was totally worth the money I spent on this. This guy knows what his doing! I would recomend him in a snap of fingers, and have. I had moved in to a building in 2008 and it was not in the best conditions. The building Manager at that time stated he would fix it all up before I moved in, though that never happened, even after numerous requests. The apartment was infested with bugs, and not to mention the condition of that apartment. My children were inhaling ashes from a previous fire in that unit, in which it was just mickey-mouse patched. There were rats in the building and the Managers were being sneaky about stuff. Long story short he got me all my year's worth of rent payments back and more, and my children got there share too. My family and I were caught by surprise when we received an Unlawful Detainer form since as far as we know, we have no issues with our landlord whatsoever.
