These people are scam artist!!! I called these people to help me with a bad situation with my landlord. First off, when you call their office nobody picks up the phone and you have to leave a message. Or if you get lucky to have someone pick up the phone they greed you by just saying " Hello" they don't introduce themselves as a law firm. Their phone number shows as spam. *** THIS IS A RED FLAG!*** A girl by the name of Ashley called me back after few days to say that she is a case in taker and she needs to gather some information to give it to the attorney. After she got all my personal information and family emergency contact info. she told me they want to take the case and she wants me to sign a contract. I asked her about the spilt. She said,42% without trial and 50% going to trial. I told her she is only a case evaluator. I can't sign a contract with her. It has to be an attorney involved. She said, she will have the attorney call me back. That was two weeks ago. I called back to see what the hell is going on and they never called me back again. PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. This is the best tenant law firm I've found. I have spoken with many different firms about my legal issues, and Tenant Law Group was the only one I would want to work with. The intake process is efficient and the intake person I spoke with, Richie, was amazing. He listened, understood, asked excellent clarifying questions, and I can tell that he truly cares. Paul, the attorney, is also great. He is smart, professional, and I felt that he truly had my best interests in mind when I consulted with him. (had to do with our landlord harassing and being unreasonable with my mother) She has an extensive background with different housing departments and also knows disability law very well. I reached out to tenant law group and was initially impressed with their staff. They agreed to take my case against my landlord for the harassment and unlivable conditions I was in. They wanted me to move within two weeks, but I am disabled and couldn't possibly meet that deadline. I agreed to vacate within 60 to 90 days. When I was ready to move, I had another meeting with TLG and they confirmed that I was vacating, and I was told to update the 30 day notice to my landlord that they had already given me prior. The next day, instead of sending me the retainer agreement, I received an email saying that they couldn't take my case and were referring me elsewhere. I was really bothered by the change, but was assured that this new attorney wanted my case. A month later, the referral attorney said he couldn't take my case either. When I reached out to tenant law group for help and an explanation, no one would speak to me. All I was offered was another referral and directed to contact the California Bar Association for additional referrals. This was sent to me via email from office staff, not an attorney. My phone calls never received a response. I had reached out to Nicole L. when I was initially referred to the first attorney. She seemed so responsive to others here on Yelp, and I wanted to try and get help from her before writing a negative review. It has been more than a month, and she has not answered my email. Every attempt I have made to speak with her or ANY supervising attorney is met with non-responses or excuses. Even the office person who sent the referral has stopped responding to my emails. I cannot begin to tell you how disgusted I am. I feel extremely betrayed and deceived. I HAVE NOW BEGUN THE PROCESS OF VACATING MY LOW RENT/RENT CONTROLLED APARTMENT IN LOS ANGELES ON ADVICE FROM THIS FIRM, AND THEY HAVE THROWN ME UNDER THE BUS, BACKED UP AND RUN OVER ME SEVERAL MORE TIMES. Anyone living in L.A. knows what a "diamond" a low rent RSO apartment is, and I am losing mine because I listened to people who clearly didn't care. If they can do this to a disabled senior, they will do it to you as well. I do hope Nicole L. reads this and finally responds to the email from December 12th sitting in her inbox. If not, then I will know that my opinion of this firm is valid. I am very disappointed that I had to write this review, because I did everything possible to get someone to speak with me so that I could get help. It is not my goal to embarrass this firm, or anyone in it. However, they really dropped the ball with me, and I would never want anyone else to be treated this poorly. What a joke of a law firm... typical of a "for the people... we fight for justice" type firm aka a UD mill. Meaning they treat potential clients like crap which is very telling and a good indication of how they will treat you as a client. They have zero ability to treat those calling in like human beings who may have questions. The "intake" team or whoever answers calls... assuming they actually eventually answer them is combative and claims they work locally but then also says they are a virtual office... they have no information... they are basically robots who take a message. Typical of these tenant mills type firms - conversation is one way - they collect info per a cookie cutter QA but are ill-equipped to answer ANY questions. They say they have no way to contact anyone other than going thru the protocol but yet they are actually part of the firm ... so you work with upwards of 50 people yet have no way to contact anyone... Okay sure. And when you push back they block your number so you cant call back. WOW that's a real empathetic "i care about people" type move. These "justice for the people" firms are so much worse and evil - they are wolves in sheep's clothing - they market themselves as "helpful" when they are really just as deceptively gross if not more so than corp law firms. I'd rather a firm just come out and say we don't give an ish about actually helping people we're just in it for the cash... at least that is honest. read more

Great service! I had a 30 min consultation for $100 with Paul. He came prepared to our meeting having read my lease agreement and reviewed the pictures of my case. He didn't waste our time going through the information we provided, instead he gave us our whole 30 minutes speaking about solutions and possibilities of our case. His knowledge in tenant law helped us write a letter to our landlord to request the lease be nulled. We requested a second meeting and unfortunately he was unable to attend. But the law firm called me multiple times to let me know he wouldn't be able to make it and inquired about rescheduling. Unfortunately I didn't see the voicemails until very late but that was my mistake. We had to make a decision by late night yesterday so we were unable to reschedule and just requested a refund which they politely agreed to with no hesitation. Honestly had a great experience with them and I hope to never have to be in the position of needing a tenant lawyer but if I do I'll definitely be coming back to them! read more

Getting through to an attorney is one of the most difficult tasks you will face when seeking representation. The intake process is tiring and disheartening in a way that other rejection just doesn't compare to. I found them on yelp unfortunately another lawyer that do not care . i called them and i talked to someone frm intake team is funny i don't understand why they even waste my time or their time if they don't care talking the person explaining my problem she said someone is going to call me at 2 pm to go through the case at 1.46 they email that i have a phone call at 2 pm and someone by name of Shawna Brinkley going to call me wait wait no one called and 2.17 i message someone by name of Karen that was is going on lol she said it was a mistake it supposed to be zoom and someone frm intake going to call to set up of time and it was yesterday afternoon NOTHING. is a shame how they play you . This firm states they provide a free case evaluation and consultation but when you call they require a $100 cost to get a consultation with an attorney to determine of they can even address the type of case you have. If the consultation is $100 they should state that on their website. read more

I wouldn't even give one star if it were available. I have had the worst experience with mold in my apartment. Tenant Law Group has done nothing to even finish the consultation. They seem to be lazy and want the victim to do all the work, I provided profession mold inspection reports and lab reports about the mold, yet they can't even bring themselves to giving an email back Carlos E Arana. Tenant Law Group is a terrible waste of time. And seemingly only gather information to obstruct justice when there is a scamming landlord not following the mold laws in California.
