BREAKING NEWS: Armando won my jury trial! Over the course of the last 2 weeks, we were stuck at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, in a housing habitability trial. Attorney Armando was so incredible! He was compassionate, nice, and very aggressive with the opposing attorneys. The attorneys the insurance company hired were not on good terms with my attorney, but Mr. Armando showed them that he is NOT to be messed with. The jury heard compelling testimony, and eventually sided with me. Experts came in from all over the country, including a fire expert from Tampa, Florida, and a housing expert and DHS official from Miami, Florida. The heart of the case was about the notice criteria and how the landlord responded. The home in question was under the Rent Control program issued by the City of Los Angeles and the landlord attempted to kick me out illegally. The home had lead, toxic mold, cockroaches, rats, ants, spiders, floods, and other substandard conditions, and the landlord attempted to say that everything was my fault because the apartment was given to me in "stellar" condition. This was far from the truth. I am low income so I did not know where to go. I met with Attorney Armando and he guided me through the entire process. I did not know how easy it was to navigate the legal process. Mr. Armando called me and spent hours on the phone to prepare the verified complaint we filed, we did depositions, discovery, and other litigation tools, and then the case proceeded to trial. When in the jury selection, I did not want a jury member and Mr. Armando said, "Please let me handle this, I promise you I will get a good jury pool." He did! I never doubted his ability, nor his excellent trial skills. He objected and for the most part the judge sided with him. It was so compelling to see how the jury members think and how they make the decisions as to damages. It was so incredible to know that the jury awarded me $415,000 in compensatory damages and $740,000 in punitive damages. Justice was served! Over the course of the last 2 years, Armando, Stephanie, and I have been in constant communication: over emails, phone, and via coffee dates. Each and every time we communicated, I felt that I made the right decision in seeking counsel herein, and I can say that Armando is the best Attorney in the entire universe! He is very smart (ranked in the top of his class at UCLA and USC) and just treats everyone with so much love, attention, and compassion. I cannot express how thankful I am for Attorney Armando and his paralegal, Ms. Stephanie. We had a long and drown out fight with our landlord, who owns many buildings in the Redondo Beach and Malibu region, and Armando was our attorney who fought for our rights. When we obtained the settlement check, my husband and I got emotional because this money changed our lives and allowed us to purchase a home. Folks be VERY careful not to hire this law firm. We hired them in June 2021, and they've caused us, and potentially other former/current clients, significant unlimited damages. Moreover, they operate like a "gang" -- they came along with their accomplices trespassing our property, and tried to file a frivolous lawsuit against us claiming baseless, defamatory, and racist cause of actions. For instance, they referred to us in their frivolous lawsuit complaint "terrorists", "mentally disabled", and claimed they sustained injuries on our property, claims that never happened based on our recorded videos, on and outside our property, and witnesses. We reported them to, among others, the State Bar of California and the Police, which are currently investigating their bogus claims and illegal actions to date. Be extremely alert, if Mr. Armando Reyes came to your house/property, alone, or with any of their known/unknown accomplices, came near you or trespassed your house/property, please contact law enforcement immediately, for that's how they stage fabricated personal injury/assault/battery claims against you to scare you not file a complaint/malpractice lawsuit against them in the future. Do not touch them, immediately start audio/video-taping their actions, along with witnesses, and concurrently call 911 to report their heinous hate crimes. Furthermore, please note that Mr. Armando Reyes, is a "provisionally-licensed attorney" with the State Bar of California, something that he and his employer never mentioned to us before we hired him in June 2021. Hence, he lacks the competence and expertise to diligently pursue your comprehensive rights. More importantly, we undoubtedly believe that this law firm, its attorneys, its accomplices, and other attorneys they know/work with to underhandedly prey on and take advantage of undocumented immigrants and the disabled. A fact, that we're in the process to formally report to the USCIS, DHS, the DOJ, and the FBI to thoroughly investigate. Again, DO NOT hire these so-called attorneys! This review has been a long time coming because it deserves a true, thought out thank you. If you are considering Jacob, please read thoroughly. I reached out to Jacob for legal advise regarding a landlord matter, I was the tenant, in July of 2019. I had been living a mere 5 days when I started having problems with my landlord who was repetitively coming to the rental unit on a weekly basis. On the third consecutive weekend he attempted to come to the house to "measure a window" I asked him to please hold off for the following week as it was 4th of July and he had all ready been to the unit two consecutive weekends. From that moment it spiraled into full blown vengeance and retaliation leading to threats, emails, violation of civil rights, attorney postings at the door that I no longer had a contract and needed to vacate, it was endless retaliation.
