Loved the convenience of this since there's not a ton nearby Seacliff beach. My only points off goes to service, sadly! I totally appreciate a family-run business but things were taking quite a long time and much of the staff (high school?) had to be reminded by multiple customers who were still waiting for their orders. I just wish there was a little more attention to the line of customers, but I totally get that things get busy. Friendly service, nice variety of baked goods and cold deli items, and good sandwiches! Even though I find myself in this area somewhat often, Castelli's is tucked away just enough that I probably wouldn't have found it if it weren't for my Yelp search of sandwiches nearby. They're just to the left of the Seacliff State Beach entrance, but after the turn for Marianne's Ice Cream. Truly a perfect location if you know they're there. We sat outside on what was quite possibly the most beautiful January day. They have a handful of tables, but again are right next to the state park/beach, so if you can't find a spot there you won't have to wander too far, and will find an ocean view. I ordered the Nonna's Caprese and really liked my sandwich, my mom got the Cali and said hers was just fine, but she tired mine and would get that the next time! This sandwich shop is on a side street right before the entrance to Seacliff Beach. They have everything you need for a picnic at the beach. We ordered a Church sandwich and a BLT. The Church was a wonderful veggie option, with toasted bread, melted mozzarella and tomatoes as the base. The BLT was basic and good, but I would probably choose something more interesting next time. We ordered our sandwiches and they were fast at putting these together for us. They have a few tables out front if you want to eat there, but we took ours to go and went to the beach. read more

Having come earlier in the day I found something across the street, but can imagine it getting filled up pretty quickly. Interior is pretty minimal with some food cases and a counter. There's minimal counter seating against the back wall. I got their seasonal sandwich, the Verona, which I later realized was just their Thanksgiving dinner sandwich with turkey, brie, and cranberry relish. I will say this sandwich was so delicious, they knocked it out the park. Matcha latte could use a bit of work. Just 95% milk to 5% matcha (perception of course). But too much milk diluted the matcha flavor. All in all super solid sandwich spot, wouldn't hesitate to come again. read more

While taking a cruise down the Pacific coast highway, I found myself starting to get hungry. After a brief stop at the nearby state beach, I saw some signs for a local deli and decided to follow them. Checking on the Yelp app, they were well rated and were exactly what I was looking for in a light meal. I stopped in and ate my lunch on their patio! They have a great selection of sandwiches, salads, italian inspired cold salads, drinks, and fresh baked goods. I decided on a chopped salad, adding the salami and provolone as recommended. I also got a chocolate chip cookie, as they were smart to put them right next to the register... looking all appealing and such. My wait was only about 10 minutes and my name was called. This salad was absolutely eye-catching, and unlike some other salads, really made me want to eat and enjoy it! Plenty of toppings, and it came with a nice light dressing. The patio was comfortable, quiet, tucked by a garden and just off a side street. I did get to chat with one of the locals, who encouraged me to move to the area. Maybe some day. Place is hit or miss. Some days the sandwiches are huge and delicious, other times they rush it and you can tell. Today's sandwich was $15 and TINY lol, to the point we laughed when we picked it up. We even weighed it when we got home - 10 ounces even with the thin butcher paper around it. Owners are typically onsite & even make coffee. Bathroom is clean. Cash, card, Apple Pay accepted. Strong WiFi, recycling available onsite, & good selection of unique cold drinks or hot beverages. Only negative... staff is not cross-trained. This means that service stops if the cashier is busy elsewhere. Of course, this is a great opportunity for improvement. HELLO MANAGEMENT!! Been there twice in person and once did door dash. Twice for lunch and once for breakfast. I can't say enough good things about this place. The quality of the food you can really tell from how fresh the bread is to the eggs they use. Everything is great. We've had the breakfast sandwich, the breakfast burrito and even tried the French toast. For lunch we've had the Cali, the Roman, even the cannolis. And did I mention the coffee? And the big chocolate chip cookies? It's our new favorite spot. Only bummer is limited seating outside and parking can be challenging depending on the time and day since it's so close to Seacliff beach. They only have one designated parking spot that's limited to 10 mins. Definitely can grab and go down to the beach for a picnic if it's too busy to find a spot to sit.
