Navigating insurance and finding healthcare providers in a new city is beyond overwhelming so I took my time finding a dentist. I am so happy I found District Dental! Parking was easy. Check in was easy. Reminder system is great. I saw Dr. Thomas. She was amazing as was her hygienist and front desk staff. They printed out a full quote for everything that I need done that was easy to read and understand as well as gave me a referral to a trusted oral surgeon. I am excited to go back because I know that I'm in good hands!

Then the dental hygienist came in and informed me that based on his review of my X-rays I needed a deep clean to remove some buildup under my gums (which he specifically said is not a new problem) but he'd be willing to do a medium deep clean. The insurance specialist informed me it would cost over $300, out of pocket. To be clear, I go to the dentist every 6 months and have my entire life. I brush twice a day and floss daily. The dentist today had no concerns about my teeth after reviewing my X-rays. No dentist (or dental hygienist) has ever recommended a deep clean before. And I was told this is "not a new problem." I declined the medium deep cleaning, the hygienist refused to do a regular cleaning and I left. The whole experience felt very scammy. And I still need to get my teeth cleaned.

This office is interested in helping reluctant dental patients (*ahem, me*) feel comfortable and in control of their dental journey. Not an easy thing to do, but definitely can be done as evidenced by Dental Tree of the Heights investing the time to pulse check how the patient feels about dentistry in general. It turns out I needed quite a bit of work done on a variety of teeths in the molar quadrant of both sides of my lower mouth. Currently I am about halfway through this journey, but I can assure the dear reader that your humble narrator is feeling quite at ease with the treatment being provided to poor tooth 19. When I was reclined back in my chair and handed the remote control, thus giving me the awesome responsibility of choosing a flick to take in while my mouth got drilled, I took the task seriously. The dear reader should know that while I have at times in my life avoided even looking toward a dentists office, I have probably also spent years of my life scrolling through movie selections and never actually picking anything to watch. And endless scroll of visual choices. After some time, I asked the dentist assistant to choose and next thing I knew, I was chillin while they was drilling. Netflix and drill, anyone? 5 stars.

My first visit with…read morehim, he diagnosed a problem with my tooth that my other previous dentists had missed, possibly for years. This unfortunately led to needing the tooth to be removed, but he was able to guide me through the process and connect me with a wonderful oral surgeon. Throughout the process, it was evident that he was closely communicating with the offices of the various sub-specialists, coordinating my care, and probably spending time outside of his normal clinical hours to do so. Dr. Hassid has a very calm, patient bedside manner. He always takes the time to explain things, in clear, simple and easy-to-understand terms, and makes sure all my questions are answered. I can tell he really cares about his patients. His office staff are also all excellent - extremely courteous, accommodating, and professional. As an example, I had an appointment with him this morning. I received a phone call that one of the staff had called in sick, and my appointment would need to be rescheduled. However, very quickly, Dr. Hassid went ABOVE and BEYOND to accommodate me into his schedule today, so that I could still be seen. It definitely wasn't necessary but really showed the level of commitment Dr. Hassid and his team have toward their patients. I think I'll be a patient here for a very long time.

They were extremely thorough with my cleaning, and talked to me in-depth about the condition of my teeth based on various x-rays and photos: what I'm doing right, what I could improve upon, what I might be at risk for, and more. The dentist also talked me through what to look for when buying toothpaste and mouthwash, and provided scientific explanations for which products work best. The new patient/scheduling process is very smooth, as well. I simply filled out the new patient form online, got an email the next day from the office to schedule my appointment (which worked great for me, since I often can't take phone calls during the day), and was ready to go. Overall, I'm very impressed with the organization of the office and the kindness and consideration of each individual I interacted with! Definitely recommend.

A permanent implant was placed before my Invisalign treatment was complete, and then trays were continued. This sequencing error caused a visible midline shift and asymmetry in my smile. I was never informed that this could be a permanent outcome. When I raised concerns, I was dismissed and told my midline was "within normal limits" without an in-person exam. A second opinion from a nationally and internationally accredited prosthodontist confirmed improper sequencing and lack of planning caused structural harm, not cosmetic dissatisfaction. One root canal he performed on tooth #31 failed within two years and required extraction. Tooth #19, which he also treated and retreated, is failing again and has been referred for further endodontic evaluation. A recent provider identified five additional teeth that may need root canals, eroded enamel, poor crown margins, and accelerated wear despite my attending regular appointments over four years. This prolonged pattern of overlooked issues, superficial reassurances, and inadequate follow-up has been both emotionally draining and physically harmful. It also triggered a documented MS flare-up, my first since diagnosis. There was no informed consent on foreseeable outcomes and no referral to a specialist, even though complex procedures were involved. I've reported this to the dental board and consumer protection agencies. I do not recommend this provider to anyone seeking ethical or well-coordinated care.
