This place is a complete joke!!! My husband's birthday is today. We ordered 3 pizzas, wings, and mozzarella sticks. Everything was covered in buffalo sauce. All the pizzas were ice cold too!! called the restaurant to be told l'd get 10% off my order next time. How completely unhelpful once again. I have company over, what are we supposed to eat? The 10% from a restaurant we will NEVER use or recommend.We stopped using this restaurant years ago be of this bs, but was willing to give them another chance... ha! Pizza was burnt black on crust with a goo bottom not sure how you pull that off, Stromboli was tasteless if it wasn't for the marinara I would think I was eating wet cardboard and the manicotti I wouldn't serve to my dog all served by a server named Jerri that really didn't give a crap what we thought. The "restaurant" was old dirty and dingy which sometimes is the best food in town, not in this case, working for OSHA if I had my DHEC buddies with me they would have been busy. We were not the only unhappy customers there was a couple of ladies that had to chase Jerri down to get their bill and even get their own takeout boxes from the counter. Walterboro there has to be something better near Washington St that's actually open when they are supposed to be, for now we'll eat before we come to town and eat again when we return home. read more

We ordered delivery to our hotel room, so can't say anything about eating at this location, but the personal pizzas we got were a perfect portion & delicious! We were road-tripping FL to NY & stopped in SC the first night. This was one of the spots recommended by the Comfort Inn we stayed at, and the prices and quality definitely make it worth trying. They were able to deliver right to our hotel room, and despite ordering during peak dinner time they still were able to get it out to us in just over 30 mins despite the bit of distance. I did a NY style pizza and added mushrooms and bacon; delicious, albeit not as crispy as a NY style should be. My mom got a white pizza and added tomato slices & she said hers was great! They arrived nice and fresh; not too hot and honestly they were just the perfect temperature to dive into. If we stop in this area again on our road trip back, I'm definitely looking forward to ordering from here again! read more

Originally told us it would be a 45 minute delivery and it took just over 2 hours to arrive which it was cold. We called to see what the issue was and never got an answer. They had the driver come back to pay 50% out of her own money which seemed unacceptable to us the company should fix the issue not there employees. This is not it. I stopped for lunch off the interstate. There were no shields to separate the cashier from the customer. A covid factory and no one to include the employees nor customers were wearing masks. A child is walking around behind the counter crying with a soileddiaper. We are traveling to Florida and stayed overnight in Walterboro SC. We didn't want to eat at a chain restaurant so we ventured into town. We stopped at this pizza restaurant and had two wonderful strombolis!! They were delicious and the service was outstanding! We ended up taking half of each dinner to the hotel! We ordered pizza and a sausage sandwich the pizza was okay. The sausage sandwich was meat sauce on a bun with a few strips of sweet peppers. What happened to the sausage link? Decided to dine in this time. Waited nearly 30 minutes for a pizza. Not very busy, only one other table being occupied. . But what was most disturbing to me, the soft drink I ordered was flat, asked the server for something else. I saw the server dump my cup out (that I'd already drank from) and used the same cup to scoop ice out of the ice bin for my new drink. Serious health department violation. Would it have killed the server to give me a new cup? How many other dirty cups have been dipped into the ice bin? Gross! Needless to say, I didn't drink the drink. So disgusting. Sad thing is, their pizza is pretty decent, but what are they doing in the kitchen that you can't see? We just happened to be seated near the drink machine and watched this happen. We were traveling on our way to Florida and this was the only restaurant open after 9pm. The interior on first look gave the impression that people don't generally dine here. After being there for 15mins, it was clear that they had more takeout order calls than dine in. We ordered the stuffed veggie and margherita pizza. This was the first time I have had stuffed pizza. I couldn't gather myself to eat more than 2 slices. I doubt anyone can double that as it was getting more greasy when we had more and more. To the reviewer who took off stars for using tin pizza plates as eating plates. This is part of the ambience of small town pizza places. The service was amazingly friendly. We had a larger party and they accommodated us immediately. We ordered 3 pizzas and a Stromboli. The entire party loved the flavors. The crust was cooked perfectly and delicious. The restaurant is small, it's in the historic district of Waltersboro so seating is limited. They seem to have a good delivery business going with calls coming in frequently during our visit. For the love of your sanity, DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY. We live in town, and have ordered delivery a total of 3 times from here, never waiting less than 90 minutes for it to be delivered. I could walk from my house to the restaurant and back in that time. The food obviously arrives cold after that sort of wait. We've eaten at the restaurant as well, wait time isn't too crazy there. Don't expect a new york style pizza though. This is More comparable to gas station pizza, and as a New Yorker, I'm absolutely appalled that they would refer to it as New York style. Its sauce and toppings on a piece of cardboard that was burnt to a crisp on one side, but kinda soggy on the other side. We were on our way home to Florida and spent the night in Walterboro. The front desk clerk recommended this place and boy was she on target! We were so exhausted we had the pizza delivered. The man taking the order was very nice and accommodated every request I had. We got the pizza quickly. The delivery man was also very nice. The pizza was delicious! One of the best we had in a long time! It was hot and exactly what we had ordered! Cooked perfectly and very yummy! Best Pizza in Walterboro by far!!! Pizza options in Walterboro are pretty dismal. It's really only bad pizza chains to choose from. Castillo's is a refreshing break from that. Their New York style pizza along with their full menu of hot and cold subs, pasta, calzones, and sides is the Italian comfort food I grew up on. We made a quick pit stop here on our journey to the south. It's an average pizza place with a lot of options. We had the stuffed veggie & margarita pizza. Stuffed vegetable pizza was something I hadn't tasted before. I enjoyed the combination of veggies & the ratio of dough to veggies. It was well balanced n tasted good. However after a slice or two, it started tasting very greasy. The margarita was good however I felt the crust was a little too thin. So after reading reviews good and bad I decided to give this place a try. First when you walk in it's not the greatest to look at. Bare walls, with a window to order and pickup Togo orders. A few dinner style booths down the wall. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. I ordered eggplant parm with ziti, my son ordered the Stromboli. The side salad was perfect, and I'm not a salad kind of guy. Eggplant you can tell was deep fried but was cooked well and had plenty of cheese it was really really good. Pasta was cooked perfect the sauce was good out of 10 I would give it a 7 little acidic for my taste. The bread that came with it was warm and you could tell was fresh. They didn't take my name and phone number and called the hotel an hour later to ask them to have me call them; they didn't have the entree I'd ordered. When I called, there was confusion as to what they had and didn't have. When the meal arrived, they hadn't upgraded my garden salad to ceasar, which I paid for, and there was no soda, which I'd also paid for. The delivery gal ran to a fast food place to get me a soda. As for the food, I ordered chicken piccata, and it was pretty good, though quite oily/buttery. Update: They charged me for the original order and the second one! The sign on the front door says "New York Style pizza". It's not. It's a pretty decent pizza with extraordinarily nice staff. There are about 7 or 8 tables inside and a wide variety of food on the menu. It's very kid friendly, service is fast and it's a great alternative to pizza chain restaurants.
