Difficult to rate this restaurant. Wonderful food, atmosphere and staff. Unfortunately the owner is the only chef and most meals take over 2 hours. Our server kept us posted but I was hungry and since it took over 45 minutes to receive the salad and over 90 minutes to get the main meal, I was getting lightheaded. Suggest that anyone going plan for a two hour dinner and use time to talk with friends and family. For the restaurant, please expand your wine list - with the typical time to eat, you will make a fortune! It took 2 hours to get a salad and nearly 4 hours total for food that definitely wasn't worth the wait. We had to repeatedly ask for water and drink refills like it was a special request. Pepper and shaved parmesan? Multiple asks... and each time we were met with passive-aggressive energy for daring to want basic table staples. Long waits, lukewarm service, and subpar food. We had a great dinner on New Years Eve! Our server Ashlynn was excellent, we arrived for our reservation early and were seated early, the atmosphere was inviting, and food was delicious. This is a close restaurant. Be prepared to sit next to other tables. The tables at the side of the restaurant are next to doors, but this is a small space. The music was great. The lighting was low. There are candles on the tables and even though we're sitting close to people, I didn't feel like I was in their conversation specifically. We adjusted an order since they were out of lamb, replaced the lobster risotto with shrimp, and it wasn't a bad change. The food was wonderfully seasoned and had a balance of many different flavors. We paired our dishes with Cabernet and Pinot Noir. The wait time is long for food, but this is three courses so you order everything at the beginning and they bring it out to you individually instead of all at one time. Everything is handmade. Flies were everywhere. We had to move three times before we could find a table where flies didn't swarm us. The waiter tried his best to accommodate us. My meal was very salty and we both left very unsatisfied. Saw it online. Owner from The Amalfi Coast, was intrigued. The vibes were just off as soon as we arrived. We waited 20 minutes for a table, the same table that sat empty for 20 minutes. We were asked after 20 minutes if we still wanted to eat. Really? We ordered calamari. That was ok. The sauce had no flavor. Tasted like tomato paste. Then we had Caesar salads. We have had better salad kits from Publix. Our pasta was good. You could tell it was homemade, but again it was lacking garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, basil-something! Food is decent...otherwise most likely will not return. We had a large table on a weeknight. From the time we sat down to the time we left it took almost 3 hours to have dinner. Service was excruciatingly slow... and there were only three seated tables in the entire restaurant all night. The last hour that we were there, we were the only table! Our waitress told us that everything had to be ordered at once (apps/drinks/entrees). You would think this would expedite things, but it did not. Once our entrées arrived, our waitress asked if there was anything else she could get for us. A couple of us asked for condiments, such as hot sauce, etc. We were very abruptly told "no". One of us even asked if the kitchen did not stock such and we're met again with a stern "no". Maybe they are trying for the whole "authentic" Italian food experience by refusing to offer condiments that may not be the norm, but what happened to catering to your customers? Had a business dinner here. Got there "early" (6:30 pm on a weekday before Christmas). Guess they just opened, but brrrr was it cold in there. Found this restaurant and Habersham area while on a visit to Beaufort, and we weren't disappointed. The ambiance is quaint, romantic, and welcoming, but we didn't love how close the table was beside us. The drinktinis were delicious and a great price considering you could get 2.5 cocktails from one of them. We tried the limonada and the honey kind and both hit the spot. For dinner, we sampled the mozzarella Caprese and calamari. Both were good servings but could've used some salt or a crack of pepper. For dinner, we tried the lobster ravioli and the spaghetti and meatballs. However, we hoped to try the carbonara but they were only serving a limited menu so be aware. The lobster ravioli was tasty and was served with a creamy and delectable sauce. The spaghetti and meatballs were a little different, as the sauce had a nutmeg note, but the meatballs were Italian perfection. Overall, it was a delicious, savory and satisfying meal, and the customer service was excellent. I definitely feel like 4 stars but would've given 5 if it weren't for the few things highlighted above! Great place and would definitely eat here again when visiting Beaufort! read more

We have visited Miramare at least 6 times over the past year. And this most recent visit will be our last. The food has been good, but with the exception of our very first visit the SERVICE HAS BEEN HORRIBLE! We had a 7pm reservation. Table wasn't ready so we sat at the bar. 15 minutes later still no drinks. The bar tender could have cared less that we were sitting there as she never acknowledged us. As for dinner... we watched the servers clear the table but never reset it. We had to ask to be seated (figuring we would have a better chance of getting a drink) at the table... 45 minutes in, we finally had our drinks. As for dinner, again we had to ask for our house salads, as well our dinners. We were told they make the salads fresh, so it takes a while... 30 seconds later they appeared? As for dinner, once again, our server stated he would try to expedite our orders, as we had been waiting a long time... As he was telling us this, our dinners appeared. Note: the restaurant only has about 13 or 14 tables and it wasn't that busy. In our opinion there is an inherent problem with service... the staff is not trained properly nor managed effectively as they seem to "disappear" for periods of time during service. The Maitre'd needs to be more engaged with the staff to ensure, what should be, a stress-free event. Our experience was far from that. We have given Miramare more than one opportunity to step up their game and each time the result was the same. We won't be back. read more

This restaurant has a warm feel , interior is tasteful. The service was excellent, explained the menu made several recommendations and explained how menu is routinely changed. The appetizers we ordered were very tasty, calamari, meatballs the sauce (gravy ) is outstanding. My wife ordered the veal piccata, I ordered the lasagna ( white ) the dishes were perfectly cooked, wife and I didn't have room for dessert, maybe next time . We had the pleasure of dining here again and it was so nice to see the restaurant a buzz on a Thursday evening. The atmosphere was just so inviting and we were eager to start indulging in some wonderful Italian cuisine. The drinks and the basket of focaccia arrived promptly complete with flavored olive oil for dipping. This time the agrodolce (pear, prosciutto and Gorgonzola reduction) hit every note. The combination of ingredients here was so good, I would return time and time again just to enjoy this appetizer. The Caesar salad was so much better this time around, delivering all the quintessential flavors for a perfect bite. The night's soup was tomato and basil. A great starter for a chilly evening. The warm, velvety smooth soup was delicate yet rich with tomato flavor and finished with a touch of cream. Entrees came next, traditional spaghetti and meatballs with red sauce, chicken Marsala, and vongole (spaghetti with white wine and clams). All of the meals were well received and thoroughly enjoyed. Service as expected was impeccable and it was nice to meet Chef Luca's partner, Cody who personally greeted us at the door and walked us to our table. Can't wait to return. As much as I enjoyed my vongole, I will be back to have another taste of Chef Luca's carbonara. (My favorite pasta dish!) Buon Appetito! read more

We had a 7:30 reservation. Arrived on time. The restaurant was maybe half capacity and most had already been served. It took an hour to get our appetizers. The server said we needed to place full order at once. That's how they prepare and time the servings. Ok so they believe them selves to be a finer dining experience. After the appetizers it was another half hour before we got salads. By now there were only three tables still eating. The main courses were another 20 minutes after the salads were done. We were there 2 and a half hours. The food was good, not excellent but good. The timing was a disaster. The bill was over 700$ for 10 people with only 4 having cocktails. A couple had wine. All but one ate pasts and two kids meals. I don't mind paying for great food, but this was extremely overpriced. Not to mention the 2 1/2 hours it took for us to receive our full meal. All I can say is I can't wait to go back. The service was spot on. We had the calamari, Burrata and Caesar salads. We ordered for our main course lobster ravioli and the gnocchi...fabulous!! Made a mid week reservation for dinner - no joke I encountered two staff members and they were so rude. We were originally outside but a member of our party got too cold so she requested we come inside. A female waitress made a big deal about it and told us that the table was reserved for someone else at 730 so we had to hurry up. Then I think our waiter jay was super over worked and over extended because he was unable to really focus on us. He seemed bothered by helping us and took 15 min to bring me a regular soda. This is a gem for South Carolinians. The service and food was beyond incredible. Each plate was served with layers of flavors and the perfect seasoning. There aren't many places to find food that honors their heritage and sticks to tradition while giving the community a new and refreshing place to sit awhile and enjoy. My friends and I were the youngest in the restaurant by a couple decades (we're in our young 20s and most were in their 50s+) and the owner--after going to every single table to check on their experiences--completely ignored us to the point of not even making eye contact. A bit disappointing, especially since we waited an hour from our salads to getting our entrees. I was disappointed. My husband ordered the lobster ravioli and it was exceptional! I ordered the seafood risotto and although it was full of fresh seafood, the risotto was more like rice, not creamy and delicious. There's a photo of it that I should have looked at before ordering because it is accurate. The olive cake was served cold with a warm glaze- not great, room temperature or warm would have been nice. The service is excellent but buyer beware. The bolognese looked amazing. I'd go back for the lobster ravioli. read more
