What a nightmare!…read more Century roofing replaced our roof after hurricane Milton, and destroyed our home due to their poor workmanship and complete lack of accountability to repair properly. Our roof was "completed" on January 4, 2025 and immediately started collecting pools of water under the roofing material. We contracted for a modified bitumen flat roof replacement with a hard 3/8" silicone protective coating. That style roof is tightly bonded to the underlying hard material. What they installed, without our knowledge nor consent, was a loose plastic sheeting that was poorly attached at the edges with a thin 3/4" flashing and sealed with acrylic caulking. none of that would have passed a building inspection. Did I mention that they never pulled a permit, as required by law? Well the acrylic caulking melted away on the first warm day (which is almost any day in Florida). Water constantly built up under the cheap plastic roofing material and we could feel waves whenever we walked on it. The expensive silicone coating that was to harden more than concrete within six months, never bonded and crumbled like sand to the touch. Our home interior became unusable for months due to ceiling collapse, water damage and mold. it smelled horrible for months. We reported the problem immediately, and often until October, when we realized that they would never repair it. They had sent people to randomly caulk areas to "fix" the leak, even though it was apparent that the entire seal was faulty and that the materials under the cheap plastic were full of water and mold. One time, the home office sent a crew to replace one piece of underpayment, which they did while completely ignoring that all of the surrounding wood and materials b egg low the plastic were very wet and moldy. The owner himself even came out and declared the roof to be dry and properly installed. we have videos from before and after his visit showing puddles of water below the cheap plastic material. We never once went onto our roof from January until October without feeling those puddles under our feet. Iur flat roof is actually our terrace that we use regular. it was clear that their repairs were never going to fix the problem and our home would remain unusable until we hired someone to replace their work in the flat roof. Both areas of flat roof needed to be completely removed and started from scratch. So we had to pay another roofer to do that. A few days after the owner of Century declared the roof good, the new roofer pulled it up and found 80% of the wood was rotten due to water damage and mold. None of the industry standard methods of sealing the roof had been performed. Just short cut after short cut. We also had to pay another contractor to remediate the water damage and mold throughout the interior of the house that all came from the century roofing installation. We had just redone the interior earlier in the year after hurricane Milton, so everything was good before the horrible roof from century destroyed it. I wish that I could say something positive about Century Roofing, but I had to pay to replace my roof twice plus several thousand dollars more to remediate the damage caused by their poor workmanship and defective construction.

I was having…read moreconstruction done on my home, and the moving of some walls created several unforeseen roofing leaks.. Owner said he'd come out and take a look to see if it could be repaired or replaced.. He sent out a repair guy who said there was "absolutely no reason" to go with the company (who showed up at the same time) and gave a quote on a complete new roof.. he could fix the issue. Since we were in the middle of a remodel, time and money were issues and we decided to go with them and the repair even though a new roof wasn't going to cost that much more. Well, the fix didn't fix the problem and they've been out now a total of 3 times.. Andy the owner came out after call #2 and said that he wouldn't reshingle the roof, but instead put up a much more expensive modified roof on my home because of the pitch.. He was the only roofer to say this, and this is where my feelings towards the company turned sour.. Because if he would have come out to view the house, like he said he would, PRIOR to the repair, during inspection and said this, i could have saved the almost 2k i paid for the repair and instead only paid another 1.5k for a new roof!! He then, after the second leak, said he'd be out personally to completely the 3rd repair on it.. He didn't come out, the same guy who was fixing it originally did.. Nothing against the guy who completed the repairs, but its 2 stars, because had i have been told up front they wouldn't reshingle the roof, or not have been told this would absolutely fix the problem, i would have just went ahead with a new roof from a competing company.. I'm not sure if the repairs have actually taken this time.. but, after a complete remodel of the interior i'm left with a patchy looking roof and a worry every time it rains. Therefor, i can't in any good conscious recommend this company.

If I had known so much wood was rotten over the detached garage I probably would have torn it down.

If you were unfortunate to have already hired them as a builder, DO NOT PAY THE FINAL DRAW UNTIL THEY REPAIR ALL ITEMS ON YOUR PUNCH LIST. This was my first construction loan and the builder told me it was normal to pay the final draw and all items on my punch list would be repaired. Once you pay them, you will be put on the backburner and they will concentrate on making their next dollar rather than taking care of a customer that fully paid them for a house. My construction contract states the builder is obligated to repair all the items on my punch list. But they choose what they want to repair rather than all the problems on my punch list. Examples of all the problems with pictures below. Many cosmetic issues with wall finish, door frames, window sills. Both double doors to the back patio are not sealed. I can see sunlight coming through the top and bottom of the doors. Both left hand back French doors do not have holes on the transition to lock the door down. Office window caulking contracted and needs recaulking. Crown molding in following rooms contracted and needs caulking. There are no quarter rounds or other rectangle trim to hide the unlevel floor so all the baseboards need to be caulked with white caulking. They are currently caulked with clear caulking. Many door frames are not square. Many doors are not plumb and open or close by themselves. All baseboards in the house have gaps below them due to unlevel floor. Gas lines to the rangetop, dryer and on the back porch need to be sealed off at the wall. Bugs are entering here. Missing doorstops all over the house. All the interior door strikers need to be replaced with longer strikers to prevent damage to the wood door frame. The metal door latch is hitting the wood frame before it hits the short striker plates. Especially the eggericious craftsmanship on the door to the garage. Metal on wood... metal wins. Baseboard needs to be completed on the side and behind the refrigerator opening. Front door handle is loose and not flush at the bottom. Range hood: Not completely installed. Missing top crown to cover ductwork. Work I was billed and paid for but not done. Cabinets: After soft close hinges were installed, some cabinet doors will not close all the way without manually pushing in by hand. Three cabinet areas missing trim. Pointed out by the last cabinet installer. I called the cabinet company (TrueWood in Longwood, FL) and they said the cabinet install was not complete and it should have been trimmed out completely. Last cabinet contractor said he would tell TC Metal to order one missing shelf. Spice cabinet rack rubs the wood on one side. Cabinet company said it needs to be adjusted so it does not rub.

I contacted Kyle to ask if there was any possibility the water could have come In Through the roof. He said he would get back to me. Later that morning I contacted the power company to request inspection of the electric meter. Before I heard a response from the power company, Mark from Honest Abe texted me to tell me he was 90 minutes away and was coming to inspect the roof. I told him we could wait until I found out if the meter had a gap that could've let the water in from the side of the house, but he said he wanted to come and check it out and make sure everything was in order. He didn't have to do this, but he came and inspected the roof which was as expected fine. He did find, a nearly half-inch gap around the electric meter, which is where the water came in during the storms. Mark went to the local hardware store bought a sealant, came back and sealed the area around the meter and checked the inside circuit box to make sure that the water was minimal and it was safe. None of this had anything to do with the roof and yet he insisted that it was an easy fix And resolved the problem. This is a quality company who provide a quality service more importantly, if there's even a question about whether there might've been a problem with the roof stand installed, they sent their technician out immediately, and the gentleman solved an unrelated problem. Vee and Kyle performed a 16 point inspection and confirmed a roof replacement was best. Roof replacement happened October 2022. The same month we advised our roof was leaking in the same areas prior to roof replacement. Honest Abe came out to "repair" issue. They came out over 10-13 times to fix this issue since October 2022 - UNRESOLVED!!! Let's fast forward to May 2023 "We Are Still Experiencing SAME Leaks" after a whole roof replacement. Are we as home owners upset, ABSOLUTELY!!! We paid $50,000 / Honest Abe received their money - WHY CANT WE GET A NON LEAKING ROOF???? You're not gonna have surgery without a 2nd opinion, so don't let someone work on your house without one either. The gentleman, Steve, on the phone was personable and pleasant. Told me they could have Hunter out this morning. Same day service .... Impressive!!! I had told Steve the story they had told me about hail storm in June 2024, Hunter took the time before coming to do his homework to let me know it was actually July. He went up and I could hear him moving about the roof, he even brought down a remnant of a previous solar pool heater that was left up there when I had full solar put in. He let me know what I already knew, my roof is fine, has some years left in it and the door knocking company was blowin smoke for an insurance payday (my words not Hunter's). Hunter was an absolute joy to have around, my dog loved him, he's funny, has an awesome personality, is personable and direct about what he sees up there. Even told me he'd bring down pictures if he did see anything. The door knocker didn't show me squat. Gravity has thoroughly earned their 5-Star rating. Looking for someone to trust with your home, this is who you call!!!!!
