Update: Five stars for a company that stands by their work! I called Hinest Abe after the hurricane Debby passed us leaving water in my electric box. I contacted Kyle to ask if there was any possibility the water could have come In Through the roof. He said he would get back to me. Later that morning I contacted the power company to request inspection of the electric meter. Before I heard a response from the power company, Mark from Honest Abe texted me to tell me he was 90 minutes away and was coming to inspect the roof. I told him we could wait until I found out if the meter had a gap that could've let the water in from the side of the house, but he said he wanted to come and check it out and make sure everything was in order. He didn't have to do this, but he came and inspected the roof which was as expected fine. He did find, a nearly half-inch gap around the electric meter, which is where the water came in during the storms. Mark went to the local hardware store bought a sealant, came back and sealed the area around the meter and checked the inside circuit box to make sure that the water was minimal and it was safe. None of this had anything to do with the roof and yet he insisted that it was an easy fix And resolved the problem. This is a quality company who provide a quality service more importantly, if there's even a question about whether there might've been a problem with the roof stand installed, they sent their technician out immediately, and the gentleman solved an unrelated problem. Hired this company because we were experiencing leaks in 2 areas of our roof. Called Honest Abe and spoke to Vee who is the owner. Vee sent Kyle out and we hired them the same day. Vee and Kyle performed a 16 point inspection and confirmed a roof replacement was best. Roof replacement happened October 2022. The same month we advised our roof was leaking in the same areas prior to roof replacement. Honest Abe came out to "repair" issue. They came out over 10-13 times to fix this issue since October 2022 - UNRESOLVED!!! Let's fast forward to May 2023 "We Are Still Experiencing SAME Leaks" after a whole roof replacement. Are we as home owners upset, ABSOLUTELY!!! We paid $50,000 / Honest Abe received their money - WHY CANT WE GET A NON LEAKING ROOF???? It was a mistake for me to hire Honest Abe Roofing. They promised a thorough inspection and diagnosis to explain why water dripped through my bathroom vent during one heavy rain. They charged $149 for the inspection and promised the fee would go towards the cost of necessary repairs. After the inspection, they were not able to say where the leak was coming from, so they recommended a significant repair that would have left a large patch of shingles that did not match the rest of my roof. What I got for free from other roofing companies: a quick (approximately 5-minute) inspection of the area of my roof most likely to have a leak if there indeed was one. Thankfully one company told me it was possible that the rain hit the roof at the perfect angle to enter the gooseneck vent and drip down into the bathroom. Their recommendation was to wait and see if the dripping happened again. What I got from Honest Abe Roofing: a quick (approximately 10-minute) inspection of my entire roof and some pictures showing that they had been on my roof. They told me there was definitely a leak, but they couldn't tell where the leak was without looking in the attic above the bathroom. Since they couldn't access the attic, they would replace a gooseneck vent and a plumbing boot, re-shingle a large area, and apply silicone around a skylight in a different bathroom. They believed whatever the cause of the leak, those repairs should resolve the issue. At my request, they agreed to peek in the attic, but insisted they could not access the area above the bathroom. I argued that if plumbers and AC professionals could get there, roofers must be able to as well. They refused. A good friend went into my attic when she visited recently. She said the path to the attic above the bathroom was very easy to find and verified that there were no signs of any leaks. I would never expect someone to go into my attic as part of a free estimate, but Honest Abe charged $149 for a thorough inspection and diagnosis. If looking in the attic is what was required, that's what they should have done. Instead, they tried to sell me an unnecessary repair, and when I refused, they quoted an exorbitant price to do a simple necessary repair. Their inspection had shown an unspecified number of nail pops unrelated to the hypothetical leak. The inspection report has a picture of just one nail pop, but I believe the company's representative told me there were three. The cost they quoted to fix the nail pop(s) and apply silicone around a skylight was $900, which was more than another company would have charged for the entire repair Honest Abe Roofing recommended. I wasted $149 and almost made the mistake of having my roof patched for no reason. I hope my review helps others avoid a similarly unfortunate interaction with Honest Abe Roofing. read more

After booking an appointment, receiving an email confirmation, another "what to expect at your appointment" email, I was shocked the morning of when the technician called to inform he was on his way, but wanted to confirm I was aware of the $150 service charge since it was a repair and not a replacement. We researched about 7 different companies to do our roof. From better business bureau to reviews and just simple response time, and we wanted face to face contact. Some roofing companies quote via satellite, and email, but Honest Abe's came out to our home and sat with us. Kyle was our representative. He was prompt, professional, and detailed. He walked us through the process, tangibly showed us the product and explained all the before , during, and after project points to be aware of. He worked with us with quick response time and answered all our questions. We had heat Solar panels for our pool, and all the appointments for removal and replacement were on time. They delivered and removed the dumpster in a timely matter. With text updates all along the way. They removed and replaced the roof in a day and when they left it was cleaned up so well it was hard to believe all that just happened. The crew were very hard workers and precise in their craft. Our field manager Anita was very kind and was on site all day to make the job ran smoothly and to answer any questions. Best of all the roof looks amazing! And our yard looks untouched. My mom was looking to get her roof replaced and I looked up and called around to different companies. Some never got back with me and some tock weeks, but when when I called Honest Abe roofing no problems. It didn't take them long to come out an inspect the roof. When they did there sales guy I hate I can't remember his name but he did a great job. My mom was sold plus he was easy on the eyes . The roof looks great they did a great job and was done when they said they would be too. The only thing I did have a problem with was a bit of miss communication on when they where coming out but all and all it got done and we are very satisfied with the work. read more
