I love the drivers at Castle. They care about their customers. The drivers are so helpful especially when asked to make multiple stops. The prices are reasonable. Drivers arrive on time and do their best to get you where you need to go. I always give them a better than decent tip because they are such great people. However, today I experienced something I thought I would never deal with calling Castle. I live on Union and I always call the cab company and they provide me a driver. But today the call went all wrong. They promised me a driver and the operator gave him the wrong address to pick me up. I call the driver and he said he would correct the address and was coming to pick me up but he never came. After 20 minutes I call to see where he was and he told me the operator had cancelled my car service. I didn't know. He did not call me. What made things worse, the cab driver didn't even reach out to me to let me know. I was late for work. WHAT A SHOCKER! Though I may be angry with the operator and this particular cab driver, it does not change my mind about the other wonderful drivers who give outstanding service. The operator needs to be trained to do better customer service. It was wrong for him to not let me know he cancelled my service. I didn't cancel. I still needed a cab. So I called another cab company. No stars for you operator! read more

I recently stopped using Uber due to issues I have been having with the drivers and started using Castle. Their App is great!! It sends you a text when the driver is outside. Love it!!! Driver was also really nice. Will continue to Castle! read more

I tried to use them an hour ago. I called, was told 7-10 minutes. 15 minutes later, no car still. Mind you, I'm crippled, standing on one leg, in the rain. I called the guy, he says one more minute. 5 minutes later still no car, I called 5 times, each time I was immediately put on hold cuz they have caller ID, he knows it was me and instead of answering and providing me with an answer or at the very least say sorry we have no cars at the moment, he decided putting me on hold indefinitely was a better option. You know when I got a text that the car was here? 32 minutes later. At that point, my one leg had tired and I was sick of getting wet so I had to hop on my one leg to my destination which was tough but better than give my money to a rude unreliable car company. Will never even bother to think of using them again. read more

These guys are awful! They were 20 minutes late and blasted loud music the entire ride and then when she dropped us off at the airport, my daughter left her cellphone in the car. I immediately called---literally less than a minute after being dropped off. Driver returned, rolled down her window and holding my kid's phone and told me she would not return the phone unless i gave her $50 cash. She held the phone and threatened to drive away with the phone unless I gave her cash for it. I had only $10 cash and threw it in the front seat and grabbed the phone out of her hand. I wish I had had the time to call the police---this must be illegal----no?! read more

Used them for may years when they were on 16th, and now that they are on 9th. They are generally reliable and show up when I need them for an airport run or locally. Left me hanging 1 time, but they actually showed up and drove me to Newark when we had the Sandy gas shortage, so I forgive them. 1 tip - Do not use them for an airport pick-up. Drop off is OK, but I called them a few times for a pick-up and they will tell you 20 minutes which is really an hour if you are lucky. This happened at least 3 out of 3 times so no more pick ups for me. read more

These guys really annoyed me, this is the first time I've ever been annoyed enough by a good or service to post an angry review. Last time I had to get to work they charged 16 dollars, this time, same time, same pick up, same drop off, they say 20 dollars. I told them I was charged 16 last time and they told me this is ridiculous and if they had charged me that last time it was a huge mistake and I owe them that money. Then they hung up on me. I have never been treated this poorly as a customer in my life. You simply can't treat people like this... especially if you want their money. read more

I don't get some of the negative reviews. How can someone give a negative based on one bad experience when most other times their service was great ? Speaks volumes on the psyche of some ppl. Morning rush hour traffic is known! So if you are going to need a cab call ahead. Castle rates are of the cheapest I've seen. They will even call dispatcher to ask for rate whilst you're listening so there's nothing shady. They are very reliable and have regulars for years. My wife called for a car, and then called back to cancel within five minutes. Every other car service in Brooklyn would've thanked her for the call, the dispatcher instead actually called her back to tell her never to use Castle again. As if we would. TRULY THE WORST!! My friend was going to the airport and the driver obviously didn't know where he was going. My friend kept telling him he was going the wrong way but he didn't pay any attention. 2 hours later into a trip that should have taken 45 minutes my friend missed his flight. He had to buy another ticket at $2500 for later that night. He called Castle and told them he had to shell out $2500 to change his ticket and the guy said to him, "Yeah, we were tracking him and wondered why he was going in the wrong direction. I've used them numerous times for airport pickup to JFK for $35 at all hours, and they are always on time (usually 5 min early), friendly, and reliable. They definitely know the quickest routes there, too, and are great at avoiding traffic. I've never called them for a local, immediate pickup though, and usually call at least an hour in advance for the airport , so can't comment on that. Dispatcher was very professional and friendly, as well as the driver. It was during the time when Sandy hit NYC and there was literally no gas everywhere. There were cars but they have no gas. It was also 10pm and 40 degrees outside which made it worse. The dispatcher was kind enough to make me wait in the waiting room until I get a car which arrived 25 minutes later instead of the estimated 3 hours. They charged me a fair amount to get home and wasn't advantageous considering the circumstances given. I will definitely use this service from now on. #onlyinBK :) read more

Well, Castle, I've used you for years, but today will be the last time. As I get in the car with my rat tarrier fully in his carrier -- as I've done with him MANY times before through Castle when taking him to the vet, travelling with him, etc. -- I'm told that there's a "pet fee." "Always has been," I'm told. O RLY? I'm in a car of yours every week, never hiding my dog, never paying a fee, and all of the sudden you're attempting to tell me that there's a fee I've never noticed that's somehow always been there? Shady shit, guys. Say goodbye to another customer, Castle. I'm pretty bummed. Normally, this service is good. But today, $16, when the standard is $13 from 7th street, 4th ave. to 66th street and 13th ave. Castle, your drivers should have a range they charge--not cool! Next time I shall make you give me a range before the car gets there. Don't try to take advantage--very disrepectful. Ugh. I have used Castle before with varying degrees of success, but this morning I called them and it was ridiculous. I was running late, it was raining a bit, and my commute to work is pretty long so I decided to take a car--and the normal service I use wasn't picking up. So I called Castle and they said it would be 10 minutes. After around 15 minutes, no car, I call again--they said it would be another 4 minutes. Wait for another 10 minutes, no car--I try calling repeatedly, and no one picks up. All in all I waited 30 minutes--which is the time it would take me to WALK from my apartment to their office in South Slope--before deciding to just take the train. If you need a company that is at all reliable, I wouldn't use them. read more
