Its cliche but the best way to describe this place is by saying the vibes were immaculate. I got the sense that this is not only a coffee garden but a hub for the community. They use a wide variety of beans and roast them with a lot of nuance to bring out the strengths of each variety. They pull outstanding shots. They teach classes in appreciating coffee. They run food and clothing drives for people in need. They are LGBTQ+ welcoming. They sell weird gifts. They have a charming patio in a sweet neighborhood. They have books and games. Their bags of beans are just as good, and they stay fresh longer than any store bought beans I've ever purchased anywhere. (At home I roast my own because freshness is paramount.) This place definitely falls into the first category. This morning I went with the single origin Guatemala drip, and it was exactly what a solid cup of coffee should be. Smooth, rich, and balanced with a nice chocolate note that hangs around just long enough to make you take another sip. No bitterness. No burnt taste. Just a clean, well-roasted cup that says someone here actually cares about the beans. The shop itself has a personality, which I always appreciate. It's decorated with fishing lures, fish artwork, and sculptures scattered around the place. Naturally this leads to the obvious conclusion: the owner is either an avid fisherman... or coffee roasting is just the side hustle between trout expeditions. Either way, the theme works. The space feels relaxed, creative, and comfortable. The kind of place where you can sit with a cup and not feel rushed out the door. Very mild chocolate, I believe it is Dutch chocolate if my memory services me not to sweet which I appreciate. It was delightfully well balanced. The coffee itself is very smooth and not bitter, excellent taste! I will be back for sure to try other options there are lots of choices. I should have taken a picture of the menu. There is ample seating both inside and outside, had I not had my toddler with me I would have loved to sit out front but it is right by the road so a no go with a rambunctious little boy... There is additional outside seating to the side and farther from the road too. I look forward to my next trip.
