A very nice and new complex with good neighbors. I only have two real complaints: 1. Heater in living room/kitchen is very inefficient and loud. I suggest getting a plug in heater. 2. There are not enough parking spaces. For a 2 bedroom apartment you are only given one space but obviously most if not all places are going to have more then one car. This means that all those people have to park in the unassigned parking so unfortunately if can be difficult for guests to find parking. This was very poor planning on the part of the developer. read more

Castle Creek Apartments as a complex is the best apartment I've had in my apartment history and I've rented multiple apartments in and outside the Chicagoland area. Maybe it's because they're newer or because Yakima is a small town but whatever it is it's not what I expected to find when moving out there. Within reasonable driving distance of PNWU and Heritage University where i attended PA school. Very close to Walmart and Wray's for grocery needs and casual, fast dining. Sketchy part of town but Castle Creek feels like its own community. Spacious, updated apartments with state of the art appliances, with washer dryer in unit and personal parking spot. Access to communal park, pool and gym. Large complex and gated with key code entry. Maintenance is extremely helpful and I can't thank them enough during my stay as a female on my own in Yakima. Very competitive application process that often requires waiting lists. Thorough background and employment checks. Office is responsive to complaints and flexible. When I lived there I saw two cop cars parked on the premise indicating they resided there too. Minor complaints: paper thin walls - heard my neighbors bed squeak if you know what i mean, way more than I would have liked; noisy residents that will sometimes yell outside in the middle of the night which is startling and poor internet connection - the service provider blames it on the complex. read more

Not a bad apartment complex. It's right next to Wray's and Ace Hardware and down the street from Wal-Mart. The tenants are not high class society kind of folks and sometimes the kids can be little load sometimes and a little mischievous. Other than that it's a decent place to live. The property is relatively safe and clean, has a nice pool and playground. There is a middle school close by and a few churches as well. read more

One reviewer spoke of this complex as being full of dangerous people and drug dealers. The review almost caused us to not move here after all. We are so glad that we ignored that review! We have lived for over a month, and have we have felt very safe. We have yet to see any graffiti or gang signs around the complex, see any suspicious activity, or feel a need to pull out a weapon. Yes, the gates are open until dark, and people come in and out frequently, but people have different work schedules, and the coming and going can easily be attributed to that. This is a family-friendly complex, where children can play outside in safety. There have been a couple nights that we have had loud neighbors throwing parties late into the night, but there is a noise complaint number you can call, or you can just deal with it. The walls are fairly thick otherwise, we don't hear much from our neighbors other than those loud parties. The condition of the apartments and grounds are great. Everything is well maintained, and everything about the complex looks exactly like the photos online. The complex is conveniently located near a couple shopping centers and bus stops. Though not all of the apartments have great views, ours happens to. We were somehow blessed with an apartment overlooking a farm, a wonderful treat. Though we appreciate our right as Americans to own firearms to defend ourselves, I highly doubt we will ever need put them to use here. We enjoy living here and are in no hurry to leave. read more

I moved in 2 months ago to the Phase II apartments and am generally satisfied. The insulation is pretty good. There is no such thing as an apartment with perfect noise insulation, but I don't hear the people upstairs walking around like some other apartments I've lived in. If kids are stomping around, blasting the TV, or screaming their heads off, then I can hear them, but it's still not too loud. One thing to note is there is NO GAS at all. The stove, water heater, and room heaters are all electric. The heater in the living room is a wall unit. It's actually fairly quiet, considering it's a wall unit, but still somewhat annoying. The bedroom has a separate wall unit heater, which is a little louder than the one in the living room. The living room has A/C, but the bedroom DOES NOT. One thing I like is the outside of the buildings and the parking lots are very brightly lit and feel secure. It's so bright that I have to close my bedroom blinds when I sleep. There are also security cameras at the gates which require an entry code, and cameras all around the buildings. The build quality seems pretty good. The kitchen cupboards are a nice dark wood, but the countertops are a cheap laminate. Washer and dryer in each unit. Dishwasher and garbage disposal also. The bathroom has a nice granite counter. The only thing I really don't like is the linoleum floors in the kitchen, living room, and bathroom... yuck. The fitness room is pretty small and useless. There is a small swimming pool which I'm sure I'll take advantage of in the summer. It looks like they are still doing construction... I'm not sure if it's another building they are putting up, or I have heard a rumor it's possibly tennis courts and a basketball court? The other tenants seem to be the type who stay out of trouble, as the managers do a background and employment check on all of them. There are quiet a few families with kids here, but they don't seem too mischievous... who knows, maybe that will change when the weather gets better and they all come outside to play. EDIT: Updating my review, now that I've lived here for almost a year.... So regarding the issue with no A/C in the bedroom, it was a non-issue for me, as it cools off so much at night that I don't need to run it. My power bill in the summer was only around $20, but I work during the daytime (M-F) and live alone, so didn't need to run A/C that often. The swimming pool was always kept clean, and they cover it every night at 9PM to keep the water warm and keep out leaves/dirt. The playground area is secure and requires keycard entry, and the kids who lived there seemed to take good advantage of it. I moved out last month due to a job transfer, and the property manager (Mona?) was very easy to deal with. She even allowed me to arrange for a trailer to be parked in the lot for a few days. My only gripe is they charged me $30 to replace the stovetop drip bowls, even though mine were spotless. They also charge a mandatory $100 carpet cleaning fee, although that is pretty common with other apartments. read more

We are counting the days until we can move out of here. Our master bathroom has a pocket door, which is a really poor design of the apartment. We smell everthing from our neighbors downstairs (since it blows right up through the pocket door), including their pot that they like to smoke all the time. Because of it, our master bedroom and bathroom smell like cheech and chong have been in there...all too often. We have complained numerous times to the apartment manager and even called the after hours maintenance a couple of times. Our neighbors are still here and still smoke pot all the time. We have turned in our notice and just counting the days until we leave here. read more

Living in these apartments has been hell for us. We are continually harassed, the walls are so thin you can hear anything and everyone at all hours of the night. Only service dogs but yet people have cats birds and reptiles. Horrible management and maintenance it's disgusting most of the time. You're better off living down town towards the ghetto!! read more

Not a horrible place to live. However, having lived here for 2.5 years with my husband and young children there are a few things I wish I had been aware of. As Jay C. put it- beware that all walks of life does and can inhabit these apartments. Above my apt has been a revolving door of college students. Each new semester comes a fresh, out of the nest, first time away from home "kid" ready to party loud until late into the evening, stomp and wrestle on the their floor, a.k.a. my ceiling. Oh and I should probably include the vomit that has dribbled from the third floor onto my second floor patio and then onto the first floors B.B.Q. My son's hands were also spit on when he was innocently standing by the balcony. Management has done everything but evict the offending tenants. I no longer play nice and go right to management to handle issues, and in all fairness the problems do subside...for a little while. The above being my biggest complaint, I would like to mention that even though these apartments are pretty with updated cabinets and colors, they are of average construction quality. Be prepared to hear toilets flushing, walking, showers, vacuum cleaners, squeaky beds, urinating and sometimes even loud laughing...if you happen to be home alone and its quiet. One other thing, and I'm not the only tenant that has issues with ventilation, but you will most likely smell your neighbors cooking, air freshners and bathroom smells seep into YOUR own bathroom via the pocket door frame. My neighbors and I have brought it to maintenance to fix this problem, but it has something to do with how the vents are sealed....which is not very well. Overall, great amenities. Clean pool and playground. Good sense of security at night with the locking gates. I have had the pleasure of meeting a lot of really great people here just trying to make this place their home too. A piece of me will really miss the close location to shopping and the nice families I have met. But as for us, I think we may have just "out grown" our apartment and it's time to move on. read more

I rented for a year here, and had a good experience. The office responded to my calls quickly and staff were fun and professional. I liked the gym and it was great to have secure parking and gated entry. I think these are the newest apartments in Yakima, and it shows. I would rent here again. read more

Castle Creek is the Best apartment Complex in Yakima. The new units are bigger than older style apartments, and offer nice size closets, and open kitchens. The style is very similar to nice Duplexes, except you get access to a pool and exercise room, without any hassles of keeping them clean or other maintenance. After living in other areas in Yakima, I am happy to be at Castle Creek. The project is Clean, very safe, and upper scale for the Yakima valley. The Three Bedroom units are over 1200 sq ft. if you can get an open unit. read more
