Simply: I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. They seemed to have a problem with my being from a competitor dental office although I had an open referral for what I wanted done. Exam and more than likely perform a root canal. Mission accomplished but I must continue with my review of this office. The endodontist was excellent, kind, caring and over-extended. Her assistant was great on the first visit but I truly felt mistreated on the second/last visit. The Latina woman that handled me the second visit couldn't be much more resistant to assisting me. I asked for a receipt and she would not give me one. I had to email later to get an insurance breakdown, but what I needed was a receipt for the payment from the first visit. I've written again since then and still do not have the specific CareCredit charge I made with them. I would not return to this, or any Castle Dental based upon my experience with the front office staff, overscheduling and the treatment by the front desk and assistant on the second visit. read more

My understanding is that they just got a new computer system and I would think it would have that basic information. Ive been going to this dental office for many years; ive had braces as well as Invisalign. I had an appointment recently which did not end well; the hygienist was unprofessional and did not show any compassion when i told her that i felt pain during my exam. Her response was, " please dont move like that i can really hurt you ". I explained to her that Ive had my teeth cleaned at this location for manys years and it never has hurted. I left the office without any service. I made an appointment at Mint dental today. The staff were professional and the office was immaculate; when i walked in I was greeted immediately. Also, there was complimentary lip balm and glasses for all patients at the front desk. So for now Im done with Castle Dental and Mint Dental has a new patient. read more

I called to make an appointment for a Dental Cleaning, my appointment was at 1pm. Per request, I arrived 30 minutes early to fill out new patient paperwork. When I arrived at 12:30, I was told everyone was at lunch, that was fine, I still needed to do my new patient paper work and the waiting room was empty. I finished the new patient paper work in 10 minutes. Around 1pm, another patient arrived and they only waited about 10 minutes before being brought to the back, I shrugged it aside and thought maybe their appointment was before mine. 5 minutes later another patient arrived and waited for about 10 minutes before being brought to the back to be seen. At this point it was 1:45 and I am still waiting to be seen, I became a bit irritated because by this point I've been waiting for over an hour and two people were seen before me I sarcastically asked the woman at the front desk if everyone was still at lunch, she apologized for the wait and sent the younger lady to go check in the back. One minute later, I was finally called to the back. I get my X-rays taken and then I am told I will need to schedule an appointment for a dental cleaning because the dental hygienist was not in that day! THE WHOLE REASON FOR THE APPOINTMENT WAS FOR A CLEANING WHY DID I WAIT THIS LONG FOR JUST X-RAYS Changing my insurance plan so I can go BACK to MINT DENTISTRY, I don't care if it is more expensive at this point I CAME HERE OPEN MINDED, Big Mistake. Unfortunately, I will now have to put my cleaning off till next year so I can get quality service at MINT DENTISTRY. Save your time, listen to these bad reviews and go get seen elsewhere. BEWARE: I went into the office on 8/21/21 to get a quote on my wisdom teeth extraction. The front desk receptionist, I believe her name is Katie, printed out a patient care quote for me. The quote stated that the cost of my 4 wisdom teeth extraction would cost $10k and some change and my out of pocket would be $6k and some change. I asked her 3 or 4 times if this quote was ran through my insurance. All 3 or 4 times, she reassured me that indeed, it was already run through insurance. She then proceeded to act like she cared about the price and said, "You can always sign up for the patient care credit, or finance.. whatever you decide on, I am here for you. I will do anything to help you" I knew the price was outrageous and definitely not correct, so a few minutes later, I went back into the office, but this time, I brought my husband with me. My husband explained that there is no way those numbers are correct because our insurance covers 80/20, plus, $6k to extract some wisdom teeth?! After going back and forth with her, she said, "OHHHHHHHH, oh my god, I know what I did wrong. Oh man, I totally know what I did wrong, give me a minute" She proceeds to type on her computer for 15-20 mins while we are standing there, finally prints out a paper and hands it to us. This was an updated quote, but this time the total cost of the extraction was upcharged by $1,500 leaving the grand total of $11,805 and my out of pocket would be $3,796. Yes, my out of pocket is now significantly less than the original quote, but why is the total cost of the procedure now more than what she had originally quoted us?! When we asked why the total cost is now higher than the original quote, she said, "Well the dentist wanted to give you a discount because you were paying out of pocket. So now I have to add in (something that she made up on the top of her head) in order to compensate." ...what? First off, from the time I left the patient chair for the exam to go to the waiting room to speak to the front desk, the dentist never once came out to speak to Katie, so how did she know he wanted to give me a discount? Second, what does it matter to you whether I pay X amount out of pocket or if my insurance pays for it? I know Katie works at the cypress location as well as the Katy location off of fry rd. Both of these locations are completely shady and unprofessional. I haven't been to any other Castle Dental locations, but from seeing the 1-2 star reviews, I can tell they are all just as terrible and unprofessional. I've already reported them to the BBB, but wanted to write this review so that future clients steer clear from them. Don't fall into the same shady trap that I almost did! PS, after some research, my husband found Katy Center for Oral and Facial Surgery. They are 100% professional! After running everything through my insurance, they quoted me around $1,100 to extract all 4 of my wisdom teeth. read more

Scheduling is part of the experience and I'm a bit baffled by the experience I've just had. Castle Dental was on my approved insurance list so I filled the web form to book an appointment. I got back a slot in less than 1 day, for 3 days in the future, but the time is not great for my work day, so I called the number on the email to reschedule. I spoke to a nice person in Irvine, CA who said all first appointments go through this central office. I let her know I wanted to know the dentist I am seeing as I prefer to support a minority dentist, be it female or international. And I asked if I could come any time earlier on the same day. She said they do not have any more appointments UNTIL JANUARY, 15 weeks away. I asked her to cancel, because I can't even bother. There are a dozen dentist offices in Cypress. I'll find another one. I absolutely do not recommend this dentist! They're misleading and a rip off! I was told I would ONLY pay $200 for a simple tooth extraction, the tooth is very loose and shouldn't need surgery and a Bone graph which is what the dentist told me was needed. I expressed a concern that perhaps I was being told I needed more than what was actually needed and the Dentist told me she didn't want to work on me, I'm assuming because I called her out on over charging for services that were beyond what was actually needed. I wish I would have done my research before wasting my time coming to this establishment. I was originally assigned to the office on Tomball Parkway, but when I called to schedule an appointment, the receptionist advised me that their office was closed and I should contact the Cypress location. The fact that the office was closed due to "not having a licensed dentist" (according to the receptionist) should have been my first red flag. But, I went through the hassle of contacting dental insurance office and having my coverage switched to this office. I scheduled my first appointment (basic cleaning) for last Friday, 2/10 at 2PM. I received a phone call from them that day at 11AM stating that I would either need to come in at 12PM that day or reschedule because the dentist needed to leave early. So, I rescheduled for the following Friday, 2/17. Welp! I get there 10 minutes early with all of my new patient paperwork already completed. I wait in the lobby for approximately 20 minutes (while multiple patients arrived after me, but were called before me) before the receptionist came and said "There's going to be a 45 minute wait. They've been kinda backed up today." If it's been happening all day then why not call before I traveled 20 minutes to come?! Why not tell me when I first arrived?! She seemed shocked that I didn't want to wait and even more confused when I told her I needed to head back to work because I was technically on my lunch break. So, I rescheduled for next month, but will likely find another provider. I really wish I would've checked Castle out on Yelp first before scheduling an appointment. I can confirm that the reviews about waiting long periods of time are 100% accurate. Quite disappointing. I will not recommend Castle Dental. Save yourself the hassle. read more

We had 3 of our children's teeth cleaned (and X-rays). This office was not able to fix the cavities and referred us out. I requested copy's of the xrays, which was promised by two different people and no one delivered after 24 (and release forms were filled out and delivered). Kids are getting another set of xrays. From the first phone conversation with Isabel on the phone; I had a feeling this orthodontist wasn't the one for me. But I still proceeded anyways. I originally made my first appointment early September. It is now Mid October and I still haven't been seen. Plus they only dedicate one day a week for orthodontics I went to my appointment and waited for over an hour. Then I said I'll come right back, now they are refusing to see me. It was around 3:45pm when I returned and she told me we the doctor stop seeing patients at 4pm. Even-though the office does not close until 5pm. But again it was still before 4pm, so why am I excluded? Isabel from Day one was very rude, unprofessional, and not hospitable at all. Every time we spoke it was something. If I could give negative stars, I would! I've NEVER had a worse experience and I've had some bad ones. First of all, I've been to several chain dental practices and they have all been less than desirable, but Castle takes the cake! First of all, I wasn't seen until and HOUR AND A HALF after my appointment time. When I asked about how much longer I could expect to wait, the desk attendant was apologetic, but the office manager (?) seemed like she couldn't care less. When they took x-rays they shoved a large plastic contraption into my mouth that stabbed my gums and the roof of my mouth. I've NEVER had x-rays that hurt and when I complained, the woman said the torture device was all they had...what happened to the little white plastic wings?? Those have always worked just fine in the past!! When I finally saw the dentist she was kind and apologetic, but she was the only positive about my experience. Then, after my consult with the dentist, I was informed that, contrary to what I was told over the phone, I could not get my cleaning on the same day as my initial diagnostic and I would need a separate appointment. On top of everything, they wanted to charge me to get copies of my signed intake forms (not even x-rays or medical info)!!! While technically legal, that's grossly unethical as it does NOT cost $26 for a few sheets of paper and toner. My family and I will NEVER go back to this establishment and I recommend you avoid it at all costs! read more

I am so incredibly grateful for the kind humans at this location! I have had a terrible fear of the dentist since childhood. Dr. Griffin , the sedation Dentist, and the staff of wonderful nurses and receptionists guided me to gently accepting the tooth extraction without IV sedation and I'm so grateful they did! I was referred here by my plan provider after my the general dentist referred me to an oral surgeon outside of my coverage network. I informed the dentist that I was referred to Castle Dental and the office staff warned me about going there. They told me that the service would be subpar. I didn't believe them and I'm glad i didn't. I had the oral surgery done without any complications and Stacie Bongiorno really made sure my visit went as smooth as possible. If you are looking for a general dentist, absolutely do not go here. Their low rating should steer you away in the first place and I went with them because I needed to establish care with a PCP quickly and I should have went elsewhere. I arrived at my scheduled appointment time at 12:45 and I am now leaving at 3:15 with no information or treatment done. I sat here for hours waiting to hear something and was only updated a few times when they were letting me know that they could not get any information from my insurance. I asked if they could please just do my cleaning and give me pricing later and they refused. I would literally pay out of freaking pocket for this and that wasn't good enough. I had to make so many arrangements to have free time to get all this done and I am left with hours of completely wasted time. Literally so disappointed and frustrated with this place. I needed one piece of paper signed for my ortho treatment and they ignored my question every single time. The dentist is so busy he doesn't even focus on what you tell him or what he is doing. It's like they over booked everyone or something. The office staff don't even know what they are talking about but will talk to you like they are the most educated people in the world. This is hands down the most unprofessional establishment I have ever been to. I was also told that I had 8 cavities but I immediately left and went elsewhere for a second opinion and was told that I had "maybe" one cavity forming. Used to be a great practice, but they don't pay enough and all of the good staff is gone. Went several times, because the manager at the time always discounted fees for me. The hygienist, Vanessa was awesome/ she is the only bright spot there. The dentist doesn't seem to know much besides root canal, crowns and extractions, that's all that was recommended. I agreed to the deep cleaning, but was then told I had to do maintenance cleanings every 3 months, not covered by insurance- forever. No free cleanings as my insurance covered. They double book so the dentist is going between 2-3 patients at one time, so you wait and wait. Money and time wasted. I've had two dentists tell me that the work is not great, at least honest enough to say that it will hold for a few years. I do not recommend any Castle Dental. read more

Worst experience that my wife and I ever had at a dentist. They do not care about the patients. They only want to up sell basic services into more expensive services, even when not needed. Be wary if they try to sell the "deep cleaning" instead of the regular cleaning. The dental hygienist kept insisting that she must do the deep cleaning and I kept saying NO. However, she would not take NO for an answer. I felt like Dustin Hoffman in the classic movie, "Marathon Man" where the guy is interrogating him in the chair, jabbing his dental tools inside his mouth and asking him "is it safe?" After my exam, I talked to the dentist and told her that we were upset with the unethical business practices, she never removed her mask and never made eye contact with me. This was the absolute worst experience ever! I went to Castle Dental for a standard exam and x-ray. I know I needed work! Dr. Patterson diagnosed work be re-done on teeth I had filled less than three months ago. When I told her those teeth were already fixed, she said she had no way of knowing that because she didn't do it. She even wanted to remove a gold crown that's less than a year old and replace it with another crown!!! She didn't even acknolwledge any of my concerns nor provide explanation. After the hygenist completed her exam, my gums were irritated, but instead of providing me with a cup or water to rinse, she left me in the chair to watch videos! If I could give 0 stars I would. I made an appointment with Castle for Friday June 12 because I had cracked a tooth and needed to be seen fairly quickly. I also wanted to schedule a regular exam and cleaning. I had a very lengthy conversation with the scheduler and she confirmed at the end of the call I was going in to have my cracked tooth looked at, a regular exam, and a cleaning. The day before the appointment LaKisha from that Castle location called to confirm my appointment and she confirmed the cracked tooth, a regular exam, and a cleaning. I got to my 8 AM apt. at 7:55 with my paperwork filled out. This was the first apt. of the day yet I sat there in the waiting room until 8:30ish. I was then taken back to get X-rays where the technician had a lot of difficulty. It was later explained to me that she was new and learning (with no supervision, however). I then went to wait for the dentist for another 20 or so minutes. She came in and took a quick look and said I needed a crown, which I figured I'd need, but she needed more xrays because although the intern took multiple shots she did not get the one tooth she needed to. So back to the Xray chair. Eventually the dentist confirms the xray and tells the other assistant to go ahead and schedule me for the crown and she's off to her next patient. I said wait...what about my regular exam and cleaning. The assistant tells me they can't do a cleaning without an exam and they can't do an exam without Xrays and those should not have been scheduled all in this appointment. Maybe they could get my xrays in but not anything else. So I needed more Xrays even though I just got 2 rounds of them? I waited a few minutes and decided to leave. I stopped at the front desk on my way out and asked to settle up whatever charges there were for the day. She asked me what was wrong and I told her I had made the appointment for 3 things which were confirmed by the scheduler as well as LaKisha (who happened to be sitting right next to her) and now they are telling me I can't have those things done and they should not have been scheduled at the same time. I had already been there for over 90 minutes, about 6 of which was actually spent with the dentist, and I didn't have time to sit around and wait for them or have more xrays taken by someone who wasn't sure of what they were doing. She said she understood and she was sorry but there was nothing she could do about fitting in the rest of the services that day and both the scheduling office and LaKisha should have known better then to schedule and confirm that. WORSE PLACE EVER. DO NOT use! If you have an urgent need, tie a string around your tooth and have a someone yank it out before going here! My daughter went in to the Cypress location for braces. The dentist struggled with spacers for a long time, kept changing equipment and finally finished the job. She has extremely tight teeth-hence the braces. Next day she was in SEVERE pain, gave her max dosage of Motrin all day with no relief. Then next day was the same about an 8 on 1-10 scale. Called doc and he told me to give her Motrin, explained I tried that, she couldn't eat OR sleep and took max already. He said it would soon pass - he did not care at all. Three days later she was still at a 6 on the pain scale - it did not pass! I called the office, receptionist Nancy was very sweet and apologetic, she said bring her in and the dentist will look at her and can give rx for pain meds. After 2 hour wait (not an issue as we were being worked in) a female dentist who had walked past us for the entire 2 hours, came in and said I can't do anything for you - just give her Motrin, I can't give her anything else. My daughter explained that she missed work, couldn't eat and was in severe pain and the dentist shrugged her shoulders and said she couldn't prescribe narcotics. I told her I was a nurse practitioner and she was full of it - she certainly COULD as long as she hadn't lost her DEA license. She changed her story then to she didn't WANT to prescribe for her as she was a patient of Dr. Hicks and not her personal care provider. She walked out saying she was going to place a call to Dr. Hicks. I was upset with her lying to me and very upset that she knew why we were there and instead of saying she would not give any meds, she made us sit there for 2 hours, again knowing she had no intention of doing anything for us. I walked out to the front desk to ask for the name of the practice administrator - and the dentist was telling another worker what a baby my daughter was and that she had only gotten spacers and she had never seen anyone whine like that. For starters, my daughter has NEVER had a script for pain meds - ever. We were treated like crack addicts looking for a fix!!! I left a message for the practice administrator and have not received a call back. I'm really not expecting my phone to ring. RUDE UNCARING LYING DENTIST. read more
