Originally went there because I had a broken tooth and new I would need a crown. I didn't want to go through the long drawn out process of a temporary crown and have to wait three weeks. I chose this dental office because they make 3-D replicate images of crowns in their office. From start to finish I was there about three hours. Never had any problems with the crown! Beware - this dentist claims there are cavities when there are none. My son recently went and we were told he had one cavity in an area he had been 'watching'. My son is 17 and never had a cavity until he came to this dentist a year ago. I decided to get another opinion, which revealed no cavities (after x-rays and an exam). I just wish I did this before the other two 'cavities' he had filled. Additionally, I had an onlay fall off on a weekend. Not only did the on-call person not call me back, but when I called on Monday, I was told that the office was closed because multiple people had personal emergencies and that they couldn't get me in for over a week. read more

America' Family Dental..... My oldest son had his teeth cleaned here bc they are located next to his ortho office, & it was a last minute deal. After having his teeth cleaned, I was told he had 2 cavities. They had to schedule him to come back for fillings, but had me pay for everything up front which I thought was odd. What the heck, it's gonna have to be paid eventually so let me stop bitchin. The three ladies at the front desk are very sweet. If you know me at all, then you know that I like having some sort of connection with people my children &/or I come in contact with. All 3 ladies were able to remain professional, yet also be laid back with me. The reason for the 3 Stars??? Well I'm still on the fence about something, so I'll write another review after I take my baby girl to get her teeth cleaned at the begining of April. I do suggest going to Merica's Family Dental, just be prepared to pay for services before they're done. Also, if you need an appointment, call ahead of time as there is a wait. I couldn't of been any happier with my first experience. everyone was LOVELY and very invested in all of my concerns regarding my teeth. Matt the hygienist was so gentle when it came to cleaning my teeth and getting me situated. I definitely recommend you ask for him if you consider visiting this business. Turns out I needed some filling re-done after so many years so I decided to get it all done there. Crystal the dentist assistant was so professional and walked me through every step of the way as the Dr was getting me situated.I always knew what was going on in my mouth. Dr. Flores and his staff are wonderful. The location is great and convenient also. This office is pretty busy and its easy to see why. The staff and doctor go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They have tv's in each room and you can watch a movie to make the time go by faster. The office is clean and the staff is very friendly. First time I was here for consultation and cleaning, that took 3 hours. Today I went and was scheduled for 2 fillings and was there from 10:30 - 1. I understand things come up, but I wasn't anticipating spending such a long time here. Would have been nice to get in and out since I made an appointment a month in advance. Otherwise, very accommodating with movies to watch and nitrous to calm the nerves a bit. Would still recommend. read more

This place is horrible. Do not go here. I went in for an initial exam and cleaning. The doctor looked at my teeth prior to cleaning, which if you have been to the dentist before, this isn't the normal routine. He took several pictures of my uncleaned teeth, then proceeded to tell me I had over ten cavities. I had only one cavity in my entire 32 years at that point, so something smelled fishy. Every dentist that I had ever been to prior to that had said I had very healthy teeth and that I was very fortunate. Two hours into the exam and my teeth still hadn't been cleaned, so I left. They said they would email me a quote to get all of my cavities filled. I went to my mom's dentist in Humble, Dr. Lomax, and he said I didn't have a single cavity, which was my usual prognosis. Be aware! Don't go getting all of this dental surgery or root canals, or filings until you get a second opinion. These people are out to make money and nothing more. read more

I have been going to this dentist for a year and every visit has been unsatisfactory. The temporary crown they made fell off two times, the second time less than a day after it was put back on (and as I was headed out of town for a week). The staff (other than reception) spends more time talking to each other than working on patients. As a result every visit has taken twice as long as it should have. My latest (and last) visit today set a new low for customer service. After being taken back at my appointment time I sat in the chair for 25 minutes waiting for a hygenist to begin my cleaning. In the meantime, their staff could be heard joking, talking, etc - doing everything but attending to patients. I have never experienced customer service this poor at a dentist. With so many to choose from I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere and strongly advise you to do the same. read more

I did not like the dark exam room, lights off the entire time, and the dark burgandy blinds closed blocking any natural light. It was very depressing. There was no music playing or anything except for the sloshing of water behind me. It sounded like a fish tank and was just very depressing atmosphere. The technician who initially greeted me actually reviewed my paperwork and noticed that I am trying to conceive and undergoing fertility treatments which means I could be pregnant and X-rays are off limits. I asked her to get my x-rays from my former dentist for now and she was completely understanding. Although she told me she'd be my technician, another lady came in and began poking and prodding and making judgements about my teeth and things that look "suspicious", taking pictures before even cleaning my teeth. I'd eaten lunch right before my lunchtime appointment, of course, and didn't want pictures being taken of my dirty teeth. Finally, she gets to cleaning my teeth, and shoves gauze and air in my mouth, practically drying out my entire mouth to where I was getting very dehydrated. I asked her to stop and remove the gauze mid-way, and give me some water. She didn't get me water, so I just jumped out of the chair and grabbed water out of my purse and guzzled it down. Then, she didn't even finish the other side of the mouth, just moved on as if she couldn't do it without my mouth stuffed with gauze. I've never had any hygienist stuff gauze in my mouth like that, but I did not like that feeling. Although the primary purpose of my visit, which I made very clear all along, was to have the glue removed from my bonded retainer that had broken and have it replaced with an invisalign like retainer, they did not remove the glue completely or create a mold for a replacement retainer. The dentist, who barely looked at my teeth, and gave me a hard time for not doing x-rays although I have a documented medical reason, barely looked at my teeth. I don't know how he would have even seen them with how dark it was in the office. He clearly told me they could do either an invisalign like retainer or a holly retainer, and when the girl finally brought me a quote, she didn't quote the one I asked for. She argued that there was only one kind and that was the holly style. I have had two sets of braces, I think I know what I'm talking about. After spending an hour and 45 minutes at their office, I practically had to end the appointment myself when I was getting nowhere. Now I have to take more time away from work to go to another dentist to get what I need. So, I would rate this as a rather poor experience. read more

I recently took my son into the office on Rayford Rd (Dr Flores). It was my first time in the office and I had a a chance to speak with some ladies in the waiting room quickly and they both conveyed how much they liked the office and the staff. My son, who is not a fan of dr/dentist offices, had a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely nice and the office looked very clean and modern. In contradiction to what another posted, I really appreciated the lowered light in the office, it was relaxing for my son. They let him choose a movie and watch it during the appt, he barely knew the dentist was there. It was a great experience and we will definitely be back!! read more
