This location is awesome. The customer service alone makes this a great experience, which is an aspect that all businesses should focus on. The receptionist greets you with extra "ooomph" and they always call you by your name the whole time which ... just makes a difference. When you are finally sitting in your chair, they continue to try and make you feel comfortable. You want snacks, water, wanna watch your favorite tv show? Want to listen to gangsta rap? The wait time here is zero to none as well. There is nothing worse than making an apportionment and still having to wait hours somewhere. This place sticks to their word. Appointment felt rushed and was not a fun experience. Didn't even see the dentist during the consult just the assistants, and they tried telling me I had 11 cavities that all needed expensive intensive care on, and a root canal. They told me i'd need more x-rays.. even though insurance only covers one set per year. When I got a second opinion they had to retake the x-rays because they said the previous place (this one) was so blurry and contrasted to make it "seem" like I had more shadows "aka cavities". I knew right away after crying in my car after I left to go get a second opinion just incase. So, I really do NOT like to speak badly about businesses, but when you are literally trying to SWINDLE people into very painful, high priced procedures that are NOT necessary I have to speak up to try to help others NOT do this in the future. I have been going to mint for years!! Different location. This is my 2nd time at the Cypress location for convenience. NOT HAPPY AT ALL! Please understand you will be in the office for at least 1.5 hours for a regular cleaning. Please note: Arrive early because EVERYTIME you go, you will be required to complete the SAME paperwork you did the last time, even if it was 3 months ago. The reasoning today was because it's a new year, but that has not always been the case. Anyway, moving on. The X-rays were taken the dentist came back & stated she sees a shadow in my tooth & they need to do a root canal & crown immediately. I'm floored, I am stellar about my hygiene so no cavities here. I asked to retake the X-ray. They did & with an attitude the Dr. Came back & said yeah maybe it's not a cavity we will keep an eye on it. I'm like REALLY!!! So if I had NOT asked for a second x-ray they would have done an unnecessary ROOT Canal (nice & painful & expensive) & crown? For a tiny shadow on the side of my tooth that could be repaired (if there was a cavity) with a filling? REALLY? Wow!!! How about NOOOOO!!! See the thing is the last time I was here they tried this on another tooth that I have a filling in that's been there for 20 years, it doesn't bother me, no pain. They told me, the filling is really deep, we need to do a root canal & crown. I'm like NO, I need a second opinion. So I go to a regular dentist office & have an exam the next week. They told me there is nothing wrong with my filling & it needs no work unless I wanted to turn it to a white filling since it's silver. I told them no it doesn't bother me it's tomorrow n the back. They said then your fine. Bottom line, Mint is a CASH COW that will ream you into unnecessary procedures. Please get a second opinion & if it doesn't hurt you probably don't need the service they are trying to sell you. Ohhhh and about that whiting. I asked for that, the doctor told me no because you said you have some sensitivity. I've always had that & never a problem receiving the whiting before. I demanded the whiting & they did it but honestly, I'm over Mint. Sorry it had to come to this but please go elsewhere unless you want unnecessary worrying about dental work you don't need so they can stay rich. Enough said. Wait, about the cleaning. The half cleaning should I say. Never in the last 25 years (every 6 months) has this ever happened. The lady used a water pick & floss. No scraping utensils to truly make sure all is clean. I inquired as to why, she stated your teeth are clean there's nothing to scrape. Ok, again I do practice great hygiene but I am not perfect. I know somewhere way in the back behind those wisdom teeth there's something hiding she did not even try. She also did not run the floss through my bridge which is required for cleaning. I do it everyday myself but the dentist always do it for cleaning. SMH worst cleaning ever! No noooo, I'm NOT done! Here's the NASTY kicker! I'm getting the mold done for my teeth. So the guy open a cabinet next to me I'm watching him, reaches into a bucket of molds blindly, Pulls one out, puts it in my mouth, says little too big. He throws that mold that was just in my mouth back into the same bucket with all the other molds (which I'm assuming we're supposed to be a clean mold bucket) and tries another size. I'm thinking OMG, how do they know which ones are clean & which aren't when he threw it back into all the other ones? They clean every mold in between patients even if they weren't used? I don't think so... (Ready to vomit thinking about it). With Corona going on this is UNEXCEPABLE on every level. Just NASTY! read more

The stars are only for the beautiful decorations. They have the worse service EVER! I've been there 2 times and both times were horrible. I had a 4:30 appointment and wasn't called back until 5:15 and they only numbed me, because I was asking what was taking so long. Then I was left in the chair for another 45 mins. By the time they started working on me, the numbing shot had started to wear off. So they had to give me another another. By the time I left it was 7pm. The time before that was a cleaning after my cleaning, I was left in the room. And I finally decided to get up and ask "am I done"? They apologized and offers me a $50 credit on my next services. BEWARE of Mint Dentistry's scheduling! I had my first appointment with Mint about 5 months ago (March 2022). The dentist and hygienist were great, so I made an appointment for my next visit six months later (September 2022 - confirmed by email and text) and told my husband they were a good choice for us (our insurance had changed, necessitating a change in provider), so he made an appointment for July 2022. He, too, liked the visit and made his next appointment for six months later - December 2022 (confirmed by email and text). All was quiet until last week when my husband began to get new emails and texts with DIFFERENT dates for his next appointment. THREE TIMES they rescheduled his appointment without his consent and three times he had to call to reschedule it back to the ORIGINAL time he had picked on his last appointment. Then on Monday, I got an email with a new time for my appointment. I *knew* I hadn't picked that time, so I went back to look at the original email and text confirmation messages. Then I called the office. I spoke to the front desk person first, who seemed to not have any idea how this happened, so I asked to speak to the manager. I asked her why they would reschedule our appointments without our consent and why it kept happening over and over. Her reply? - YOU have *misunderstood* the system. You NEVER HAD a REAL appointment. It was ONLY A REMINDER to MAKE an appointment! I was shocked! NEVER in my life have I heard of a dentist practicing business this way. When you make an appointment you have reserved a date and a time, not a reminder to make an appointment. ALL of the texts and emails said "you have an appointment" not "please make an appointment" SO, I can only conclude that either this manager is confused or their system is terrible or she is lying to me about what happened. She was completely unapologetic about THEIR mess up and their bad system, and in the end I canceled my appointment and will find another dentist who has a real scheduling system. Three things characterized my latest appointment with my local Mint Dental location: Inattentiveness, shady business practices, and unprofessionalism. When booking the appointment I asked how long it would take for the entire appointment for teeth cleaning and they said 45 mins. I wanted make sure since I had 3pm event near willowbrook. Let's begin with the check in process. I came in for a 1pm appointment on time in order to be seen. The front reception was busy and they greeted me and ask me to take a seat and will be with me. While I was waiting on someone to become available, another patient came in late for his appointment 1:15pm and he was attended to immediately. It took them 20 minutes before I was able to be checked in and a total of 43mins in the waiting room and got to be seen at 1:43pm. So I am not sure if this was discrimination or just plain bad front desk management. Now it gets worse. After I spoke with the dentist (Dr. Fisher), and told him that I was perfectly fine no tooth ache I was just in for a route cleaning. Since last year due to covid I was unable to do any cleaning of my teeth. So he recommended deep cleaning. But I came in for a routine cleaning that was included in my insurance. After the dentist left, the assistant came in and showed me a form, one that listed the deep cleaning as a service. It would be a service that would bill my insurance around $2400 and I would be paying around $496 out of pocket. This was unacceptable to me, as I had wanted to get a basic cleaning not the recommending cleaning since it was a way for them to over bill my insurance since they called them to Pre-Authorize the higher amount on purpose. Since I had an Athena PPO plan from an Oil company I can tell they were trying to pressure me into something I did not need so they can charge the insurance and myself. The assistant also mentioned that because the dentist recommended that I do the deep cleaning that I would lose my ability to get the 2 routine cleanings. It was obvious she was trying to force my hand by using incorrect information. After I told her No I did not want to do the deep cleaning she kept on saying it is ok your insurance will pay for it. You just have to pay the deducible and the $496. After I said no I just wanted the basic cleaning service. She said that they would not do it anymore since they pre-authorized the deep cleaning with Aetna already. I mentioned this and the assistant was downplaying the importance of the document, saying that it was a formality and that I would have to sign the document due to the fact that I "had" to continue with the service as it was pre-authorized and they had called my insurance. It didn't sound right to me. I refused to sign. Later I would discover this was not the case. At my refusal to sign, the assistant got her manager. I spoke with the manager, who repeated the same things that the assistant had mentioned. I was firm in pointing out the exact wording on the document and they had glossed over it. I left the office without having done anything (other than an exercise in frustration) and wasted an hour and forty minutes of my life. The day after my appointment, I called my insurance, Aetna, to verify and the representative mentioned that what they were saying was incorrect and that I was entitled to my (2) cleanings per year and their form was in fact an authorization form and not just a formality. Their comment of saying that I have to do the deep cleaning is so that they can bill way more than what I came in for. I am so disappointed since I have been a customer since 2018 and the service was great back then and their staff was not so unprofessional. I know their business was hurt by covid and the number of people coming but it does not excuse the deceptive practices of cheating the insurance and their customer to make up the difference. Responding to company's response below: Your representative that was proposing the service said that they pre-authorize already and that since deep cleaning was recommended the basic cleaning would no longer be in able to be done. Keep in mind I said No I did not want to do the deep cleaning. After mint wasted one hour and 40 mins of my life. " The reason we have to have you sign a document if you refuse the deep cleaning" Which is a lie since in the black and white text of the signature part it shows that you are approving the charges and letting you guys charge my insurance keep in mind I did not even get a cleaning done. If you look through you review that are 1 star you notice a pattern of issues and trying to get people to get treatments that are unnecessary so they can bill more. Up front: greeting staff was kind and office manager who discussed my treatment plan was also very kind. The bad: So much confusion at this location. I usually visit the heights location which I love but was referred here for an implant consult. The receptionist who set up the appt over the phone said the max price I should expect out of pocket for implant would be $3250, including x-rays and 360 scan etc. after paying $100 just to get in the chair for the consult (which I was originally told would be waived since I'm already a mint patient), I was told straight up that it would be around $5000 for an implant. When I mentioned that misleading price gap to the Dr. , the doctor said "oh he must have applied some type of discount". $2000 is enough of a difference that had I known that estimate total, I wouldn't have schedule the $100 consult and have to take the $350 out of my insurance budget from the $2500 pool I get each year, because I'm not ready to budget for $5k yet for the implant. On top of that; the first person I saw was a "temp" so when I asked what all these extra X-rays were for, she said "oh I don't know, I don't usually work here." No direction as to what/who was coming in next. There were multiple periods of me sitting in the chair thinking, should I just walk out? Nobody seems to want to communicate as to who they are/what the next step is in between cleaning, x-ray, consult and follow up info. I won't be visiting this location again unless it's my only option for specialty work in the Mint family. read more

I have been going to this place less that 9 months. Went in today for some discomfort I was having. At the door I was told there would be a $90 fee to be seen. I was not told this prior to appointment so I questioned it. I was told that I would need another set of X-rays before my appointment. This would be the third time they would need to take X-rays since starting there 9 months ago. I feel like there is some kind of money gauge going on. I have never needed to get X-rays every time I need to see the dentist. I am not sure if I will continue with them one the fiscal year is over. read more

Overhyped!!! Worst dental experience ever. I came in for a cleaning and of course they start with xrays. Well, the plastic piece they put in your mouth was severely beat up a d chewed, so when the dental assistant put it in my mouth, it scratched the corner of my mouth. The piece pulled some of the hairs on my beard and it irritated my skin. Now I have little bumps around the area. Their catch phrase is that they "make sexy teeth", well now my skin is hot sexy because of their lack of care. Never going back here. Terrible experience all around. read more

Front desk was super nice but they try to wait until you are seen to tell you that they do not take any insurance. I asked several times and they told me that cleaning was covered at a 100%. I asked again because I know how insurance works, the front desk finally told me that that do not take any insurance and any work after cleaning would be out-of-network (it would cost a lot more than a dentist in network). After a saw the dentist, he told me a had 5 cavities and needed 1 root canal. This was all going to cost me around 10,000 since it was out of network. I went to my old dentist (who is in network) and all work would cost me around $5,000. He did the panoramic X-ray 2 times, free of charge, because he could see any cavities. He reassured me that I didn't need a root canal on my existing root canal tooth and also did not have anay cavities. Mint is really trying to get their money. read more

Absolutely love this place!! Front the second we walked in, this place was the best. Completely upscale decor and the staff- amazing. Brandon greeted and checked us in, we are new patients and the iPads make the whole new patient paperwork, so easy. He explained everything thoroughly and quickly. Easy peesy. Peter took the X-rays and was sooo nice! He was quick and again, made everything so easy. He also took the molds of my teeth whitening trays. So gentle and sweet, we chatted the whole time. Dr. Goyal was competent and very nice when explaining my next procedure. Elizabeth was the tech that did our cleanings and again, amazing service! Don't believe the hype that you hear on the radio! I got no teeth whitening and they tried to charge me for a cleaning. I have never been charged for my cleaning with a PPO. I asked the lady that took my appointment over the phone, would my son and I be able to get the whitening, and she said as long as you have a PPO. It was never explained that you could only get whitening depending on your dentist's report. My son had lots going on with his teeth, so I can get why it wasn't a good idea for him, but me, I should have been offered the whitening. Then in order for them to clean my teeth, they wanted to charge me $215 for a deep cleaning. Of course, I was not paying because no one called and told me that once they verified my insurance that I could be charged for deep cleaning depending on the dentist's exam. I have never paid extra for a deep cleaning and the dentist usually does the cleaning himself, so I know I get a deep cleaning. Those are things that I needed to know before getting to the location, so I could have been prepared. Again, awful communication...when I voiced my concerns to the office manager, she seemed to care less, as long as they got to use my insurance. Who likes going to the dentist right? Definitely enjoyed my first experience here with Mint Dentistry. Very welcoming staff! They offer temporary amenities to use such as an iPad (has Netflix and Hulu) with beats headphones to make your wait seem shorter than it really is! Dr Bendre was very informational, you can tell she's knowledgeable and cares for your teeth's health and not your money. I have a few wisdoms to take out, i wanted to get it over with but she recommended otherwise because she did not want to rush the process but to make sure my treatment will be taken care of appropriately. RDH Jacky did a great job on my cleaning, fast and super at ease. She was very enthusiastic about cleaning my teeth, loved the positive attitude. Last but not least, Brandon whom works in the front is very professional and knowledgeable of insurance cost and what not. He is also the cost coordinator. Everyone was nice and helpful, they explained everything in full so there wasn't much to ask or be confused about. 10/22/19: I got a crown in July. It had to be redone 4 times because he was open at the bottom. First time I believe the dentist thought I did something wrong because she said she would rush it, living the improper fitting one in my mouth. I called after 3 weeks and no one ever really returned phone calls as promised and when I did get someone on the phone they said "hopefully soon". It ended up taking 8 weeks when normal time for a crown to come in os 3-6weeks. I truly believe they were being petty. So that one didnt fit either low and behold not my fault but the measurements were inaccurate. They took another scan and I had a replacement in about a week ( big difference from the first time huh). Well that one didnt fit either. Dentist was apologetic, office managers were nonchalant. That one also didn't fit had the replacement in about another week. Forth one fit. For my troubles they offered a $50 credit on the next service. I told I had no plans on returning and would rather have a cleaning at the time of my third crown attempt. Dentist said she would speak to the manager about me getting some type of refund and the manager would be calling me. Per usual no one called. I didnt start with a good experience here but they already had my exam and xrays for tx, if I knew it would've turned out like this I wouldnt just paid the extra money for a new exam at another dentist. Updated:1/26/19. Shortly after my review posted (I posted my review everywhere) the office manager Jasmine called to apologize and get more feedback. They fixed my trays. These people do not deserve nice rating just because they have nice decor and hand you a tablet when you walk in. I had a Monday appt at 4pm. Arrived 15 minutes earlier you know typical appt behavior. Service and the back staff were extremely slow; no amount of youtube on a 42inch TV can make up for the having to be in the dentist office for 2 hours for xrays as part of a routine exam, a cleaning and the make of trays(the tray took 15mins). I prob spent about 5 minutes with the dentist (not out of the norm...just a routine visit) and 15-20 mins with the hygienist (normal cleaning). After an hour or so in staff come in saying they forgot to take a full xray later we forgot to make a mold for your trays...etc. The lights were literally off and staff were upfront with my keys. The financial person quoted me prices with MetLife on the paper...I have Cigna. They promised to call the next day to make sure the quotes were right because the office was closed. Crickets. I called two days later to make sure the info was right. Fast forward I finally use my trays Friday night...they dont fit..total rush job. Call the office Monday morning they say I need an appointment. I have to make an appoint for your mistakes...maybe but no not how I saw staff delegating their time doing nothing...no thank. The advertisement and marketing got me in the door but that's where it all ends. read more

First time patient today. Went in for a general cleaning and whitening. The lobby was nice, but the service received didn't match the "luxury" brand that is marketed and advertised all over Houston. -The first 50 minutes in and they still hadn't even began my cleaning -My technician was undertrained and not prepared to operate things alone without a shadow -Picking music is nice but not when it's blasting from other rooms But what really bothered me was swallowing loads of teeth molding putty: -the molding tray for teeth whitening was overflowing with clay putty for my mold and got everywhere during my bottom teeth molding -- my face, tongue, clothes, etc. it's disgusting and the tech said maybe it was too much putty. Umm, yes. Way too much. So when she out the top tray in, overflowing as well, I bit down and huge amounts of putty spilled out and over the mold and went down my throat. I pulled out the mold and began gagging, tech gave me napkins and a trash can once the gags turned into puking. Napkins? To wipe at least two cups of clay putty out of my mouth after swallowing some? My gag reflex is amazing and I've NEVER had this problem but of course was gagging and ended up puking into the trash can. I had to ask for water. I was shocked and appalled at how the situation and aftermath went unaddressed like it was normal as the insurance rep came in to discuss my dental plan I told him I was leaving and that I just swallowed a large about if dental putty. Their response?? Oh, yeah, the molds are always the tough part. Like it was MY ISSUE. Um, no. You don't fill your molds up that much. Train your techs before you let them work on real people. First and last visit. I won't be back. I have WiFi, a couch and a tablet at home where no one gives me chemical teeth whitening putty to swallow. read more

This is the first negative review I have ever given but it is well deserved. While the Orthodontist & in person staff are great, the claims & billing system has been a nightmare. I got my services done in September 2022. Prior to this procedure & on the day of, I let them know I had 2 insurances and clarified which insurance was my primary. About a month later I was notified that my secondary insurance was ending soon so I called my primary insurance to get an update on the claim & was informed that the insurance was incorrectly filed. I was completely understanding as I know everyone makes mistakes. Since then, I have had to take multiple days calling both of my insurances and the billing/claims department here to figure out the issue. Out of pocket I paid $500 on the day of the procedure and another $500 later over the phone. I am also being charged $150 monthly for my Invisalign. I should not continue to be charged when I have paid $1000 out of pocket and am covered under 2 insurances, which should cover the total amount of my Invisalign. After realizing that they incorrectly filed the claim (which my insurance notified them about prior to me finding out), they made no effort to try and have my claims expedited so I wouldn't continue to be charged monthly for something my insurance covers. I have done more work on the back end trying to fix the mess they have made and have not received an update at all on there end. I updated the claims team today 11/15/22 about how my claim was approved by my first insurance 5 days ago, I even sent the EOB which they claim they needed. My secondary insurance is now inactive & I still haven't been helped during this whole process. I have no experience dealing with claims because usually dental offices complete this on your behalf. Every dental office I have been to prior to this has been outstanding in the way they filed my claims and made sure I wasn't charged for things I am covered for. I have been the only one communicating to my insurance while trying to get Mint dentistry to do their part. I have been incorrectly transferred to the wrong department on numerous occasion & have left voicemails that have not been returned to try to get this figured out before my secondary insurance ended. Through it all I have remained kind but this is extremely frustrating. This situation has completely turned me off to this office. Doctor reviewed said I had 5 cavities asked if I wanted to do them right now they can squeeze me in. I said no I need to think about it. She quickly left I wasn't able to ask questions. The hygienist then came in quickly poked around in my mouth said my teeth looked good and there wasn't much work for her to do... I went in to have an abscess checked... after having the tooth removed the abscess grew back within a week of the surgery. I called and asked was it normal and they said I didn't have an abscess from the start even though they gave me antibiotics and told me I have an abscess. I went in for a routine teeth cleaning and was very happy. Everyone was very gentle and super friendly. This is my second time coming to this location and neither time was so disappointed. The first time I had fillings done. At first I was afraid because it was my first cavity ever. There should be an option of NO star. They are horrible. RUN! Go elsewhere. They don't care for you nor your teeth. All they want is your insurance money and as much money they can get out of you up front. I got about 16273737 anesthesia shots and nothing. They don't know what they're doing. Kids right out of college thinking they know-it-all and they know nothing! Go to an MD/Dentist or a dentist that's not part of a chain or corporation. They market like crazy - and because of that they rush and do a bad job....they bit more than what they can chew on. RUN! They were legit gonna extract a tooth without me fasting without check to see if it was the correct tooth....it was marked wrong on the chart. WTH. read more

You honestly won't find another dental home as good as Mint Dentistry. From the moment we walked in, we we're welcomed in immediately. The decor is modern, the people who work here are friendly and walk you every step of the way. I came here for a cleaning and whitening trays and the dentist and her assistant were super nice and explained everything clearly. As someone who takes oral hygiene seriously, it's refreshing to have people who are passionate about what they do. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Everyone very friendly and the extra perks I guess are supposed to distract you from the fact that all they want to do is up sell services. Went in for a cleaning and they couldn't provide it due to stating that I needed a deep cleaning. Had been going to my dentist in Memorial for years and decided to give Mint a try, my dentist had never declined a standard cleaning let along suggested that I needed a deep cleaning. This is By far THE BEST dentistry I've ever been too. The atmosphere is so relaxing and full of ambiance. They make sure you're okay EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. What I loved the most is when you walk in and the front desk -Tim says " HELLO HOW CAN I MAKE YOU SMILE TODAY," I felt so special and it made me immediately smile and appreciate them because NO OTHER dental office I've been to says that.
