Dr Dyer is a gem, he extracted my daughter's tooth in 2018 and recently she had to have three more teeth extracted. The staff, especially Madison, were wonderful and kind. Dr. Dyer was also very kind and extracted the teeth without any pain. I grabbed some cards because I am going to recommend him to all my friends and family. I was looking for someone who could pull my daughter's teeth to prep for braces. She was so afraid but when I was doing my research I found his bio on his site to really stand out. He mentioned that he has wanted to be in this field since he was young. It runs in his family. AND he volunteers doing it for animals. Well the office is beautiful and his confidence was comforting. I told my daughter he really has a passion for this. The extractions went perfect and we still see him for progress visits. I recommend him and would use him myself if the time comes! read more

I love Dr. Dyer. I was first referred to him years ago and I've been impressed every time I see him. He does not suggest work that does not need to be done, he is quiet but empathetic and sensitive to fears or concerns you might have. He's knowledgeable, skilled and competent. The fact that he volunteers his time and expertise to perform work on large animals at sanctuaries around the country speaks volumes about his kind and compassionate heart. Among all of the doctors I've been seen, Dr. Dyer is the only one that gives his patients his cell phone number. He called to check on his patients on the night of procedure. I was so nervous during my first gum grafting procedure. Dr. Dyer and his assistant patiently comforted me. I called him a couples of times after hours since I had medication allergies. He walked me through what to do. His practice has new equipment. Above all, his skills, his honesty are the most important. He won't make you go under unnecessary procedures. I'm mentioning that because I had been into a place that tried to empty my pocket with an insane treatment plan. They lied about what my insurance covered. Here at doctor Dyer's office, I even got refund on some of my payments. I don't think he's unfriendly like other reviews. He's just straightforward and he's very busy. The ladies in front are friendly and helpful as well. They recognized me after a couple of times I went there. It's very hard to find a good honest practice like this nowadays. read more

OK...this will be a review of Dr Dyer, but also something people who need osseous surgery can refer to. The review will be ongoing since the osseous surgery needs to be done in stages, so review will be updated several times. Although I brush and floss, I developed gun disease and needed osseous surgery. Osseous surgery can be intimidating. That is because you have to cut the gums open to expose and work on the inflamed tissues and often damaged tooth root. It is not quite open heart surgery, but it is something that is still pretty serious and requires a lot of skill, especially since you will be awake the whole time. Having said that, don't worry too much, the procedure itself is not painful. The shots, of course sting and you will need several. Doc Dyer was quick and efficient. OK, so gums are cut open and doc Dyer is cleaning away and seems to be in the zone. I saw one reviewer claim that doc Dyer is not friendly. In my experience he was quite friendly during the initial visit, but yes was not particularly jovial during the actual work. But that is, IMO, because he is serious about the work he is doing. Your gums are cut open and he is down in your tooth root doing some pretty hard core work/scraping (he also had to re-build a damaged root) so you might not want Rodney Dangerfield type humor at that moment. Just my take. He did call to check up on me that night, I think it was about 20 minutes to 9, so that shows me he cares about you after the work day is over. I am sorry to say this, but IMO, a lot of health pros are in it only for the money (please see my review of Delight Dental) but doc Dyer did not have to call at night. Good sign. So the section was done and I went home. My meds were waiting for me at my local Pharmacy, no problem, but 2 hours later I was feeling no pain so I did not take anything. I probably should have because 2 hours later the gums started to hurt. I ended up taking 3-4 codeine. The next morning they really hurt and I took one and they still hurt so I took another. I was worried because you don't get a lot of codeine...but pretty soon the pain resided and here on day 2 I have some lower jaw soreness and moderate gum pain and might need a few more but I am pretty sure I am good. That is a pet peeve of mine, docs who underprescribe pain medication since they care more about their license than your pain (thank the opiod crisis and general greed). Another reviewer claims that doc Dyer under prescribed pain meds, but I am getting by with no problem on what he wrote. I am getting a little pain from eating but I have enough meds, so don't worry about that although YMMV. That wraps it up fo right now. I am a tough grader but have to go with a 5 for right now. We will see how things go when I get the rest of my work done. read more

I want to brag about great customer service for my oral care. My surgeon, Dr Charles Dyer and staff are an exceptional team located just west of Houston, right off 290 in Cypress. My surgical experience was non eventful- as I required sedation and remember very little about that morning! He and his staff delivered me to my hubby in the lobby and the rest is history. I had a follow up 3 weeks later and he is pleased with my progress which makes me pleased with my progress. I needed a bone graft and implants. All done - just waiting on things to heal. Yahoo! I will see him a couple more times to measure the bone (who knew? Bone grows back when it remembers it has a job to do)!! Don't negate your dental hygiene. I have had several procedures done with Dr. Dyer over the years. He is not a friendly guy at all. Doesn't seem to care about you, just tells you what procedure you need and walks away. I had my last procedure done at this office a week ago today, still have pain on one side and he only prescribed meds for 4 days. Wouldn't refill prescription. No phone call to see how I was doing. Luckily there are other periodontists to choose from if I happen to need in the future. If I have to spend thousands of dollars for surgery, I would prefer a doctor with some compassion to treat me. I'm thankful I decided not to send my son to Dr. Dyer for wisdom teeth removal after reading other reviews. read more

I had and extraction, implant prep and bone graft and eventually the implant. I am more than satisfied that I got the best care from this very adept and knowledgeable oral surgeon. He has a mastery of his trade that I have seldom seen and the very best and newest technology. No time is wasted as there is an education system that plays on a tv in the waiting room that I found very helpful in understanding the process and techniques that I was having. He does an annual check up of my implant that I am very pleased about. This is the fourth year and all is well and that is good to know! They get you taken care of promptly but you also have to call them and let them know what it is that you need because they will be accommodating. Dr. Dyer did a fantastic job removing my last wisdom tooth. I had a quote from another dentist in the area that I thought was too high, and I was right. Dr. Dyer charged me a fraction of what they wanted saving me a ton of money! The extraction took less than 5 minutes and I was on my way. Staff is friendly and Dr. Dyer is very personable. Well, not sure where to start: 1) inappropriate comments before the procedure about the complexity of work (you know, it is not like I had something to do with the how the roots grew) 2) inadequate staff (you know, when I ask multiple times about whether or not prescription was sent to my Pharmacy, only to find out when I arrive to pick it up, that it was never sent! 3) inappropriate contact during the procedure (you know, doc! my chest is not your platter to lay the tools 4) inadequate staff training (even after 3 shots, I could feel the pain, and even the tears on my eyes did not prompt a question from you or from the staff whether or not the meds were kicking in! 5) and of course Rule the Earth attitude!.. If you have a choice = find someone else! If you don't have a choice = better do it yourself (it'll be just as enjoyable, and you'll save the $400)! read more

My daughter had her wisdom teeth removed. The procedure went as planned, no complaints. However, the billing and payment was very misleading. When my wife inquired about doing the procedure she was told that the office takes our insurance. When my wife paid the bill, we were billed $500 for anesthesia. On the way home my daughter told my wife that she did not have anesthesia. (We were given a prescription for my daughter to take before the procedure that made her so loopy she didn't need anesthesia) My wife called the office and they said that they had planned to give her the anesthesia but my daughter was out already from the prescription so the doctor decided not to give it to her. They said that they would credit our account. After a month, our account had not been credited the $500. My wife called back and Dr. Dwyer's office said that our insurance would reimburse us. Our insurance company did send us a check but it was not for $500. It was much less. In addition, Dr. Dwyer's office is not an approved provider so out out of pocket expenses were more than they would have been had we used an approved provider. We should have been told that they are not an approved provider so we would have had the opportunity to find an approved provider. Beware of unethical practices in your dealings with this office.They lied about taking our insurance and they lied about crediting our account back. I believe this dental office is working the system so they get paid more. read more

I have been a patient of the Doc for over 4 years now, Have had two implants done my him, He has done a great job. My wife needed an implant and also went to him, After the extraction, she had a problem and it has taken over a year for the process to go through, Dr Dyer has patiently worked through the problem and finally got the implant to set. The problem was not the Doc's fault but the way my wife healed. Even though it consisted of extra visits and more work for him, he has seen this through and at no extra charge to us. If I need more work will gladly go back to see him. read more
