We had to have it jumped in order to start the vehicle and all 4 tires were dry rotted. The man running said establishment explained to my boyfriend that he would not sell the vehicle with the tires in this condition. The deal they created was 4 brand new tires and the car at the cost of $1,300 (+tax and tags). We spent the summer in Texas and did not have the money to buy the car at that point in time. We have now returned home and I personally called the establishment on 9/19 to which I received a voicemail. I left a voicemail and received a call back 30 minutes later. I spoke with a woman named Tonya. I explained to her the situation and asked if the car was still available for the same price that had been negotiated months ago. She stated she would need to speak with her husband to discuss and would give me a call back. A few hours had passed and I hadn't received a call so I followed up with her. She stated she had spoke with her husband and that there was some miscommunication. The deal now was 1,300 as the car sits or 1,600 with all new tires. I then told her I would have to call her back after speaking with my boyfriend to see what he wanted to do. My boyfriend and Tonya went back and forth for a little bit throughout a few phone calls in regards to the state of the car and the price. In their last conversation Tonya explained that we could get the car for 1,600 with two new tires because her husband had inspected the tires and found that 2 of the 4 were safe. After this conversation I decided to call Tonya (9/21) to attempt to settle any confusion and come to an agreement. She explained to me in a slightly rude fashion that the car was priced at 1,600 with two new tires, no negotiation. I simply asked her how the deal went from 1,600 with FOUR brand new tires to 1,600 with TWO brand new tires. She then went on about how they're safe, her husband has been in the business since the 80's, they're legal, ECT. Being none of this answered my question I again asked how the goods I was to receive went down but the price was going to stay the same. Mrs. Tonya then became clearly frustrated and attempted to tell me the original deal was that the car would receive however many tires were needed. She stated the other two were only "weathered" when they were all very clearly dry rotted and unsafe. She also stated that other comparable cars are priced higher and that this was still a good deal. I agree that even 1,600 for the car with two of the four tires replaced was still a good deal but it did not add up with what she offered me previously. Lastly she explained that the price is the price and "you don't have to buy it." I then also became somewhat frustrated and decided against purchasing this car. I want it to be known that it is not the prices that turned me away but it was the disrespect and extreme lack of communication. I do not recommend this company and would not trust them. However they would be the place to go for an inspection if you have a car with dry rotted tires. Math: Late May/ early June-1,300=car with FOUR new tires 9/19- 1,300= car as it sits OR 1,600= car with FOUR new tires 9/20- 1,600=car with TWO new tires (If $1,300 gets you the car as it sits and $1,600 gets you FOUR new tires that puts the tires at 75 a piece. Take away TWO of the new tires and you should take away $150.)
