The first time was in Charlotte when they arrived to fix my work truck, this second time we had a random issue with my friends's diesel tractor that she couldn't get to start out in Winnabow. (It was urgent that we had the tractor running same day.) I called, spoke to Terry in the office who was very nice. Within 5 minutes, I had a call from the service tech letting me know his eta once he was to be done on his current repair. He arrived out in the boonies within 30 minutes and after some diagnostics, he had fixed a few things and replaced the fuse and had the tractor running again within an hour. This saved us from having to get anything towed and we were very appreciative with how quick everything was done from start to finish. I know it's random to brag that they fixed the tractor, but whether it was a car or diesel truck or tractor, it was a needed service and resolved quickly.

The final result did not meet my expectations, particularly regarding the scratch repair and overall exterior finish. The invoice listed "One Step Paint Correction" with a hand wash service for $200, but later I was told the pricing was actually intended to be broken down differently. That was never reflected on the invoice itself, which created confusion and disagreement regarding the services performed. To be fair, after I raised concerns, the company did offer to redo the work and provide additional buffing at no extra charge. However, by that point I was no longer comfortable bringing the vehicle back because the situation had already escalated into discussions involving collections, theft of services, the sheriff's department, DMV involvement, and vehicle liens over what I believed was ultimately a disputed service issue. I did ultimately pay the invoice to close the matter out, but overall I found the communication and handling of the dispute unnecessarily aggressive for a customer who acknowledged work was performed and attempted to discuss concerns in good faith. My advice to future customers would be to make sure all services and pricing are extremely detailed and itemized in writing beforehand.

Thompson Towing sent a text with an ETA of 12:53 PM. Then the delays started. First, they pushed the ETA to 1:54 PM. Then to 2:55 PM. When I called to check, the representative simply said they had to "move things around"--meaning my wait time was pushed even further. At 3:30 PM, the driver finally called to say he was on the way but Work out a little bit I moved it hey buddy, hey buddy would take 45 minutes since he was across town. But unbelievably, at 3:50 PM, he called back saying he got another call! I am not exaggerating--this actually happened. It's clear to me that Thompson Towing does not care about Geico or its customers. I told Geico to put a note in my account never to send them again. If you're in need of timely roadside assistance, I strongly recommenend looking elsewhere.

In particular, they exceeded expectations in honoring their work. They had replaced a broken camshaft in my Craftsman ride-on mower. The new camshaft, unfortunately, had a defect--which sometimes happens--and they replaced it, taking on the burden of labor and managing the warranty themselves. FIRST OFF, I've been coming to Buff Masters of Wilmington for over 6 years now. I hate writing…read moresuch a negative review but they deserve this. I come on Wax Wednesday's and got the top tier clay bar wax special, which was $139.95 after service charge, truck charge and douche of my mag wheels. I got there at 11:28 from the time of the receipt. At 1:10, an hour and a half later, they discovered that my truck had been parked on the side of the business and NOTHING HAD BEEN STARTED. 30 minutes later my truck was supposedly done. When I went to get my supposedly ready truck I came out to find a single old non-English speaking man still spraying detail spray on the grill. I'm absolutely certain no clay bar had been used, though I didn't watch it. The sloppy work, missed areas was evident. I had to go to my first GMC service appointment or I would have stayed to make them "make it right" but sadly I couldn't because I was already late. When I got home I went around the truck and even looked on the roof as I was sure I'd see they hadn't done it as the little old man, even on a step stool wouldn't have been able to reach the roof. What I found proved it. He just reached up as far as he could reach and didn't do the roof at all. Sadly Buff Masters has lost all respect in my books. They are both a victim of their success and personnel shortages. The people they do have are scrambling back and forth and no one is actually controlling the yard as a foreman. Quality of their work represents a complete rip off to the consumer. They are not only cutting corners but in my case, deceptively charging me for premium wax bar treatment and 6 mo sealing wax with just substituting a quick detail spray in its place. I can assure you, this was my last visit to Buff Masters of Wilmington NC. I also intend to ask the NC State Attorney General's Consumer Fraud division to come do an investigation of Buff Masters to see if they too can catch them in this obvious consumer bait & switch misrepresentation of services being provided. In my opinion, Buff Masters needs to shut down its operations, retool, regroup, and put in place a clear process to ensure the consumer is not being ripped off by shoddy, corner cutting work like I received. Then reopen and do a better job of managing their processes. They've enjoyed huge success but have lost sight on what garnered them that business in the first place. They're upping their prices, as all businesses have had to do, but from the services I received, this is just going to get them more profits at the expense of the consumer who, based on my visit, are being short changed and ripped off.

It was only later that I realized my dashboard did not get wiped down very well nor did the inside of my doors. There were areas that did not get vacuumed inside. There was an area on the outside of my car (which is in really great condition) but did not get washed. Well it may have gotten washed, but there was still a bunch of dirt on it. I paid for the $50 wash plus a nice tip and did not get the wash and vacuum vacuuming I was expecting. Also, the workers, who I know were probably very tired, we're not friendly. The gal in the office inside was very kind and helped me figure out what wash I should get.
