The entire process and setting made it easier for those who had to make the arrangements and those who attended the wake less stressful. There's a small private parking lot next to the funeral home. I highly recommend this establishment. I've gone to many wakes in many locations and this was one of the better places I've been. The floral arrangements were spread out and displayed with care.

Ralph, the manager, was incredibly empathetic. He ensured we had every piece of information we needed and was transparent throughout the whole process. The funeral home was even kind enough to donate items to our family, which was a generous touch we didn't expect. Making the decision to cremate my father was emotionally challenging for us, but the Balsamo family guided us through it with patience and understanding. We also worked with Jonathan, who was very informative regarding the Military Honors and other arrangements. As my father was an Army Veteran, having someone navigate those specific details made the process much easier on me and my brother. On the day of the service, the staff was available for whatever we needed but never intrusive. They gave us the space to converse with family and friends and allowed us ample time to pack up afterward without rushing us. We met with Nick, discussed what was desired in our family member's funeral, and he guided us to explore the different options. While difficult, Nick made it as easy as anyone could possibly make it, and did not attempt to influence our decisions one way or another. He simply presented the options and allowed us to decide. Once done, he prepared a detailed quote. While their full service funeral service is not inexpensive and there may be less expensive options, we found that Nick and team managed every element of the process and ceremonies very well and were professional from start to finish. We were mourning the death of my mother in law, it's stressful and who has the mind to think? Everything here is over priced. And things on the bill are repeated just worded differently, so ur basically paying for the same services a few times. But not only that, you pay over $3k for things such as supervision and for someone to direct the guests, that wasn't done, everyone was walking in the wrong direction causing traffic in the room. They also asked us which flower arrangements we wanted to keep after all is said and done, we told them which arrangements and we put it on a side table and they promised to set it aside to pick up after the funeral. Well that wasn't the case, the next day when we called to let them know we were picking them up, we learned that they sold our flower arrangements back to the other florists they work with. He then told us he would replace them but he never did. They return your phone calls before they get your money, but once you pay, your on your own. There was only one person that was a good guy and that was Carl. Everyone else there is disgusting. They are patronizing and condescending and don't give a crap about people that are mourning Bc it's something they do everyday, they are like robots. Oh and on top of it he said he would take off $200 off the bill, because the hair and makeup charges were over $500 which is ridiculous... when it was time to pay he didn't take it off the bill, instead Nick played stupid as if he was going to do it at the end...we had him recalculate everything Bc the total was way above what we agreed on. We made him break it all down. then he adjusted to the correct number. Then he just took $125 off the over calculated bill. We were so tired and stressed that it wasn't even worth arguing at that point. Beware of this place. Make sure you do your research on prices before you shop around. We chose that place Bc of the location, wasn't even worth it. Nick Farenga your a disgusting pig.

They picked up her remains, cremated her in a timely fashion, returned over paid money without request, were there for me at any moment when I called with questions and could not be any more professional. Lori the daughter of the the generational owner was superb. I went to the parlor about 2 months after the cremation as I wanted to have prayer cards made. They pulled her file within 30 seconds. I was taken care of by a young man that is somewhat new in the business, but he was wonderful too. We designed, ordered and paid for the cards in twenty minutes. They then allowed me into their chapel to say a prayer or two. There will be more services needed in my lifetime and I will be sure to use this parlor and family owned organization. What started as an awkward query on the price of a funeral for my mom who just passed the evening…read morebefore, turned into an experience I never imagined would be so seamless to get through. I never wanted a viewing because you want to remember your loved ones as they were, but once I saw mom after her passing, I had to allow others to see her one last time. Ralph Cerasuolo, funeral director, invited us into their office and sat us down and asked what was it that we were looking to do. From there, the conversation slowly evolved from pricing a funeral to hobbies and travel and Italy. Ralph made it easy to do what I needed to get done for Mami. While Ralph complied a price list, he let us browse through a prayer book catalog and I was so happy to find Mami's favorite patron saint as one of the selections. It's not a common saint to find and I found Him here at Riverdale Funeral Home. Preparing for this day, a few months ago, I started a photo slideshow project of Mami's life and I wanted to bring a projector with my iPad to the viewing. I was so happy to learn that it wouldn't be needed as Riverdale Funeral Home provides a large flatscreen TV with plenty of HDMI plugs for use with devices to display photos and memories. I was also contemplating in bringing bottled water for visitors but had no time to get a case. No worries again. When I arrived for Mami's viewing, there were plenty of carafes of water throughout the room alongside cone paper cups. Another stress reliever that they supplied these simple amenities. On the day of her viewing, Mami looked absolutely beautiful. One of my worst fears all my life was to see her on a day like this and have that last memory of her not looking like herself but she looked like she was sleeping, completely rested. She had her costume jewelry on, just as she did in life and looked like she was just waiting to head to one of her parties. My heart was filled with so much happiness. I cannot thank Ralph enough for his knowledge and in being the one to assist us with Mami's arrangements. James Winkle, their office manager supervised Mami's visit and he is a dear to engage with as well. The funeral home itself has a very cozy feel with warmth when you walk in. One truly feels they are with family through the process. Riverdale Funeral Home made this sad loss of ours a beautiful memory we will always remember. Thank you for this.
