I took quotes from 3 window contractors. I had 31 openings including 2 sets of sliders and 2 front doors. Castle/Folding Shutters was a clear winner. Sure enough, the crew was amazing and they are NOT subcontractors, but W-2 employees. The other 2 bidders used subcontractors that I suspect did not speak English (based on customers' reviews) so I was not going to deal with finger-pointing. These installations are inherently VERY noisy and dusty; however Luis' crew took extra care to cover my upscale furniture & high-end electronics. Zero stars if possible: A salesman came out and measured. Gave me a written estimate, said he had worked for the company for many years. We told him we were waiting for other estimates as well. We decided to use Castle for a few French doors. We gave a deposit. We asked that another door be replaced as well. He came to our house and measured the other door. He then informed my husband he had made a mistake in the estimate and it would cost another 1700.00. It was unprofessional behavior but we agreed to the extra 1700.00 error. We received another estimate for all doors. We told Castle Windows and Doors to go ahead. Our deposit check had been cashed. Two days went by, we received another phone call. Chris the sales guy, is very thorough, has tons of experience and provided pricing that I thought was very fair compared to other quotes I got. BEWARE.... The screws they use DO NOT MATCH the shutters. I have black shutters and they used silver screws. NO ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Screws stick out like a sore thumb. We live on the top floor of a Condo in Jupiter, Florida. We needed to replace the skylights with hurricane-resistant windows. The only way to reach those windows was by using an eighty-foot crane. Castle Impact Windows made all the arrangements, replaced all the windows, replaced the old wood that the windows would be attached to, and cleaned up the debris. When they finished, it looked like they never were there. Now, the HOA recommends Castle Impact Windows for all the Condo owners, because they are so impressed with their workmanship and pricing. I also got the sense that Chris has the buyer's best interest at heart. This is very hard to find these days. Had a pretty negative experience with one of the sales reps. I've been trying to get a free quote for a sliding hurricane glass door and accordion shutters for the rest of the house. The sales rep kept pushing back our appointment, finally after about 3 weeks of back and forth he came in to view our property. He was so condescending with what he had to say, my girlfriend and I were shocked. Once he found out that we had a budget to work with (who doesn't?), here's what he had to say... "your neighbor is a lawyer, he just paid $12k for shutters", "I have people waiting to write checks", etc. We showed him 2 other quotes for $10-12k for the whole job (sliding door and shutters). He kept trying to tells us that their door alone is that much and apparently superior in terms of quality. Finally he stormed out saying he had other clients that are willing to pay now and that he was going to send us a quote when he got free time. Over a month later and still nothing. If you don't have unlimited budget, look elsewhere. The sales reps are taught to talk down to you. Why do I care what my neighbor does for a living? Keep that information to yourself. These guys totally dropped the ball! The left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. They promised the job would be finished in 12-16 weeks or less and when I called to find out when I would be on the schedule, they didn't even know who I was, nor did they pull proper permitting! It took over 7 months to install my sliding glass doors and they did a shitty job! Even I know you're supposed to measure twice and cut once! It's kinda a rule! Now I have to redo my floor. They did take off $500 for a concrete footer that was in my contract, they charged me for and did not get, and they did replace one of 7 doors that had a 8 inch gouge. But seriously, shitty job!!! They finally "finish" but they say one of the locking mechanisms was backward. They had to order another one, but the rigged the door so it would lock until they could manufacture and install the correct piece. However, when it did get installed, it was correct the first time and the team of professionals had the slider on the wrong track! So now I have a brand new frame with 3 holes in it where they drilled to put in screws! FKN shitty job!!! I wish I had never called them! read more

Very disappointed when I was not informed when installation would be scheduled after I had made my deposit and did everything right as a customer. After i was finally scheduled for installation, Castle called to say that special equipment would be needed at a considerable added expense due to built-in furniture in my condo. Kevin, the person that did the estimate did not even come to physically see the condo but based my estimate on other condos in the building. I told them I would not pay any more than what was estimated and finally they accepted responsibility and brought in special lifts to install storm shutters. The salesman never told me that they needed to be lubricated twice a year. It was to my surprise that i would have to spend $454.00 for two services per year because my place is close to the water. After my property manager scheduled a time for service, Castle unilaterally changed the time which was not possible for my mgr. BEWARE! read more

Moore who personally came out on wednesday to start my job. He measured and reviewed the eight windows I am having my shutters (accordion) installed before hurricane season this year. The city of coconut creek plays DIRTY and had me running like a fool looking for the contractor from 1989 who installed my storm panels when they knew I would never find the contractor. Its like dealing with kindergartners! WORST city ever to deal with! I chose Folding Shutter Corp. I was pleased that Mr Moore (the owner) arrived on time and explained everything to me. I have one window that would not pass code (two other companies were going to cover the window knowing well that it wouldnt pass and both were asking crazy high prices. That was until Mr Moore told me they would never pass the inspection so I had to let that window go and consider at a later date having the impact window put in so I wont need a shutter on it. Once mr Moore wrote my estimate and I agreed and gave him a deposit he is sending the engineer to my home to draw up the plans for my accordion shutters. I thought the price was very fair and I see the work they do on their website and I am confident I chose the right company to install my new accordion shutters. I will update when the work begins. What he neglected to tell me was that every time I want to close my shutters I must unscrew the screws in the ground and install the track myself. This is not truth in advertising and would not recommend this type of shutter to someone who is not skilled in carpentry! Certainly not someone who is older!
