We were all excited because in the past all the condos have been awesome, but this one was a let down. We walked in with a few groceries, opened the fridge and we were about knocked down with the smell of spoiled seafood! I went down stairs to the check in counter to complain, and the fella was very helpful trying to get the issue fixed. He called the supervisor of the cleaning company and that man started hollering at him over the phone about what all I had complained about. The fella then gave me the phone to explain what wall I was saying, the cleaning supervisor then said that everything was inspected and it was fine. I told him to come and look and smell. He agreed in sending someone but nothing changed for the 5 night/6 days we were there. Phoenix Orange Beach #401, lacked in cleaning as well. The kitchen had nothing but small "glass" glasses to drink out of and with kids ages 3-16, 4 of them being 10 and under plastic glasses would have been much safer. The beds were comfortable, slept well but the rooms that had views to the outside only had sheer curtains and didn't block the early morning sun. The decor wasn't like the the other condos that we have stayed in in the past. The outdoor pool was extremely small to accommodate the guests. The laundry area about knocked me for a loop, you'll see in the pictures I post. The walk to the beach was just a little short jaunt which was great! That's probably the best thing about this property! Oh and the ice machine on this property is $5.00 a bag!

Beach vacation rental done right! We just finished a week long stay here. Love this home! The…read moreowners really had the right plan from the layout to the appliances- everything. One of the big pros to this place is the common half bath. We rent homes every year and are surprised to find 6 bedroom homes with no common bath. We loved that this home has one and that it was very near the back where the pool is located. The bedrooms- all very nice with comfy mattresses. All are upstairs except one master suite next to the kitchen. All have a TV and most have ceiling fans! Bathrooms- all very clean and updated. Only the twin beds and bunk beds share a bathroom. All other rooms have a private bath. Kitchen- great open floor plan with ability to cook for a large group easily. Cooking appliances, pots, pans were all nice and plentiful. Bonus- the owner supplies plastic cups! We had small kids so loved being able to use these and take them to the pool. Another bonus is the ice maker!! Love that!! Dining room- one of the "cons". The dining room is too formal and hard to access for sit down meals. Plan on eating buffet style sitting at the counter in the kitchen or living room. Upstairs "sitting room"- a plus but hard to really make good use out of- the sitting room doubles as a common hallway for all the bedrooms upstairs. I wouldn't recommend using the sleeper sofa here unless you like to tip toe around someone. However- if you have to do a sofa sleeper, it is nice that it isn't in the main living room on the main floor. The view- not great of the ocean, and mediocre view of the bay. Outdoor grill- hard to use due to the gulf winds. It is permanently set, so you can't move it around to a place with less wind. However- the grill is very large which makes it very nice when cooking for a big group! Pool- So. Awesome! There are sitting ledges built in so you can relax with a cocktail and enjoy the sun! There is not any shade however- so bring lots of sunscreen. A shade tent fits nicely and does the trick. Downstairs refrigerator- an added bonus since a lot of the groceries for families using the home won't fit in the one upstairs. However- this room is gross. Huge mildew problem with visible smelly mold. There is a big sofa in this room that I can't imagine anyone sitting on- too smelly! Laundry- great appliances with easy access on the main floor. Stairs- plan on a good workout. There is no easy access if you have trouble with stairs. Screened in porch- very nice. Ate breakfast there a few times. Overlooks the bay side. Beach access- not too far away, but invest in a cart or wagon if you stay here. The beach is very private- not crowded at all! There is also a wildlife refuge area next to Laguna Key that makes it less accessible to public beach traffic. There are LOTS of shells on the beach that are a little different than typical that make shelling a fun activity too! Laguna key Pool/tennis courts- we didn't have a chance to use them, but they are well maintained and look great. Bay side dock- well worth the walk! There is a long boardwalk not too far from this house. (It isn't well marked and is so close to a home you wouldn't easily find it). My son loves to fish and spent hours here fishing. It's a great place to take pictures, read a book or just relax- they have a few benches on the dock and a covered area with benches as well. Location- secluded! Plan on a long drive down the beach. This is about 6 miles to any restaurant or shop in Gulf shores. Parking/Garage- spacious! You can easily park a vehicle inside and protect it from the elements. The drive easily fits around 4 vehicles. It is on a cul de sac in the complex so a great place for small kids to ride bikes or other toys. All in all this rental is great! Kudos to the owners! Great setup!

Nightlight for bathrooms. Closest to the beach that you can get and well controlled fob entry so the beachfront isn't overly crowded. This is the place to rent!

Robs Condos Gulf Shores Plantation Unit 4110 I rented this…read morecondo from Robs Condos, (Stayed 5 1/2 months) and they withheld my deposit due to an extended stay cleaning fee. I left this condo in very good condition, but he insisted this was a legitimate fee due to the length of the stay, and he was billed for this by his cleaning company. I discovered his cleaning company bills everyone for this service, not because of excessive dirt, but because of the length of the stay. Rob's condo rental bill stated the rental fee was complete, and did not say anything about extended stay cleaning fees. I lost my deposit, because Rob's Condos did not know he would be billed extra from his cleaning company. That is not my fault! He could have easily included this fee in his "Complete" pricing!

I enjoy winters at the Gulf Shores Plantation, because of the great pools, and hot tub…read more My enjoyment was cut short this year, due to the hot tub (Which is one of the reasons why I come here). It has been closed almost more than it has been open. Too bad the times it was open, it was almost unusable because of the COLD water. The indoor pool isn't much better. It doesn't take over 3 months to fix a hot tub, and the "Waiting for parts" response is getting old. Too bad, my landlord could be losing a $5000.00 + rental for next winter. After it hits their wallets, they might get it fixed!!

I think I know a little about the 70s beach scene. For my landlord's part, we love the room and would recommend it. Helluva thing when Burt died, but he went out on his own terms.

Everything was just as described in the listing and photo's. The location was perfect (at the end of the beach before the state park property). Although we didn't cook, the kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary appliances, pots and pans, dishware, and utensils. The balcony (very important to us) had plenty of space and included a cushioned love seat with 2 large, comfy matching chairs, a coffee table, and a ceramic drum table; 2 extra woven chairs were stashed in the corner if needed. The view was perfect! We had easy access to the beach with a nice wooden walkway, which included a rinsing station for feet and beach toys upon one's return from the sand. The rental station for beach chairs and umbrellas was conveniently close, and the attendents were very friendly and helpful with chair/umbrella placement. There are two elevators which provided quick service and huge utility carts for transporting luggage, groceries, and other beach paraphernalia. The owner (Rick, Ultimate Relocation) was an excellent communicator! We had all needed information before we arrived and he checked with us via email several times throughout our stay to determine if we needed anything. We would definitely return to this rental.
