Blueberry lemon curd pancakes
Brandy D.

Attended a Sunday brunch and I would say it was descent. Wouldn't be my first choice but wasn't terrible. The pancakes came massive, but I expected more flavor. The crab cake Benedict was pretty good. The Bloody Mary was mediocre. Not much flavor. The staff was friendly and checked in often. The food came out relatively fast. The building seemed very dim for the daytime though. They did have outdoor seating available as well.

Prosciutto and fig pizza

I graduated today and I made a reservation 2 weeks ago for my family and I to eat here. We were all very exited. I gave them my full name, number, and they had my card on file and the hostess gave my table to another person who happened to have the same first name and number of people. We had to wait an extra 30 minutes to be seated even though I had a reservation. ( I have had previous experience in the food industry and you always make sure that you check the persons first and last name and their phone number before you seat them) We hadn't eaten the night before so we were all very hungry and the server took another 20 minutes to come ask for our drinks. The food was good and the inside is so nice but they really need to make sure that they give the right people their tables on time.

The restaurant

Overall really good. The portions aren't big, chairs were a little uncomfortable, and the table moved really easily but the food was good, the staff was friendly and accommodating for the elderly, and it was a really upscale casual style restaurant. Parking is really easy. It's a huge lot. Bathrooms are clean.

Journeys Edge

Just attended a live music performance at The Warehouse location on East Ave. The Band Journeys Edge put on a great show. Nice brand new venue and a had a walk up bar. Well done show were in from out of town and glad we found this event on Eventbrite.

Eggs Benedict, one with crab and the other with spinach.

Had a wonderful brunch with a friend and we both thought it was the best meal we've had in a long time. She had eggs Benedict but asked if they could add spinach, which they gladly did. I had the crab cakes Benedict and it was excellent. The waiter was friendly, helpful and funny. The atmosphere, although dark, was very cool. And price wise it's not bad!! Quite reasonable for what you get!

Chillequiles
Kathy T.

Went for brunch. Had the mimosas ---you get to choose your juice ---and a delicious breakfast. I had the Cali avocado toast ---lots of greens and freshness ---and my son ordered the chilaquiles which he said weee excellent. Service was awesome and sit outside on the patio if you can.

One of the best places in Chico to grab a drink and avoid the college crowd. I know, I know, its a…read morecollege town, don't gripe about the college kids... but holy hell its nice to hang out with the grown ups sometimes! A couple of tips for the newbie adult headed to this VIP lounge: 1) Make sure to get your booty up there prior to 9pm (after 9pm there is a $10 cover charge) 2) $10 isn't going to break the bank, I get it however, it IS a key bit of info so take it for what its worth. (Its worth ten bucks, ha!) Make sure that if you should arrive before 9, like for happy hour, and stay after 9, that your given a wrist band so you can wander from floor to floor without having to pay the entry fee 3) If you get there prior to 9pm and have a person or people you actually want to speak (and not yell at) the music is at a normal level so carrying a conversation is tres easy. Beware, after 9pm they PUMP up the volume so be prepared to yell your conversation after that time frame kicks in 4) And speaking of 'tres' this bar is tres chic, there is a ton of cozy seating, you can go find a booth which is semi private or go more public and choose a table out in the open (along with more cozy seats) 5) They have an 'L' shaped pool table, very weird but very cool and ultra different. I've never seen one quite like it anywhere else 6) The martini selection is pretty tasty (see my pix) and the prices are right up my alley (marginally priced and well worth it) 7) The absolute BEST part of my experience here at the VIP Ultra Lounge was Stephanie. The adorable, extra friendly bartender/waitress, literally, the best little thing located upstairs. Her personality ROCKED. She gave me mini tour and being that it was my first time here, while she toured, she explained all the bars (total of 4), their highlights and best times to have fun at each of them. Seriously treated me in TOTAL VIP fashion, what a gem!! The cool thing about this bar is that its connected to 3 other totally different (un-VIP, just made up that word) bars. So... if you get tired of being a snobby VIP, you can take your wasty face downstairs and kick it with the college kids. Good thing #8... if your walking sideways and acting like a drunk monkey, you'll blend right in :) Dance, scratch your butt, do a shot then fall on the floor, hey! Have a good time!

Once you are past the cheapest drinks you can buy phase of Chico life, come up to VIP Ultra Lounge. Check 'em out during happy hour to scout if you like it without paying a cover. I enjoyed my melon mojito- with none of the stickiness or smell associated with most the venues in Chico. I get that Chico isn't used to paying much of a cover charge at all, but I'd rather pay a cover and go somewhere gorgeous, comfortable & clean. I used to love the Bear & LaSalles, but you go there after a few drinks because otherwise you'd never get past the smell and in the door. You can smell them from outside. Yuck. Other than harping on the fantasticness of a clean place- my husband has enjoyed his drinks there as well, we've had tacos and a steak/gorganzola pizza during happy hour- all good stuff. And that explains why I'm headed there in 40 minutes to celebrate the end of my work week!

Once we found our seat, no one brought us menus...we ended up making friends with the couple next to us and looked at theirs. I told the server it was our first time there, and I'm used to a different response other than being met with silence. I asked if she recommended anything and it was as if she didn't want to interact. We ended up getting pho, steak skewers, rice tots, fried chicken sandwich. I ordered a mocktail which was great. Food was ok, would like to try something else next time. Hubs thought the cheese on the chicken sando was "weird". It's a pretty bar.

Sunlight danced across playfully colored walls, instantly making the space feel welcoming and alive. Innovative and classic cocktails are offered alongside beer and a modest wine selection. The mocktails looked wonderfully thirst-quenching, but my soul was calling for an orange wine. It served its purpose quite nicely. The menu centers on healthier bar food options, and the intention comes through beautifully. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully sourced, and lovingly prepared rather than simply assembled. The offerings lean playful, with subtle Asian influences that keep things interesting. Our group chose to lean in on the more indulgent side of the menu. The rice tots? Unexpected, whimsical, and absolutely worthy of sharing, crispy little conversation starters. We enjoyed this starter with a little bowl of seasoned mixed nuts. But let's discuss the pastrami sandwich. A glorious indulgence layered with melty cheese, kimchi slaw, and piled onto a locally baked brioche bun. Restraint was simply not invited to this meal. My dinner companions opted for the cheeseburger and were completely delighted. Classic in concept, but elevated in execution, right down to the burger sauce, which struck that elusive perfect balance of tangy, savory, and craveable. And the fries? Skinny, McDonald's-style (yes, that's a compliment), with exactly the right crunch and seasoning. Roselle manages that lovely balancing act of feeling casual yet intentional, playful yet polished. A very happy little find in Chico, California.

Our server was prompt, polite, and friendly, which we appreciated. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with lots of natural light and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd describe it as "Chico nice" -- casual and trendy, but not fine dining or especially refined service. The food was okay to good, but nothing memorable. We ordered the avocado toast, chicken sandwich, a beer, and a sweet drink, and the total came to about $72. Everything was perfectly fine, just not the kind of food or experience that would make me want to return, especially for a birthday celebration. Overall, it's a decent spot for a casual lunch, but it didn't feel particularly special for the price.

Food - the lobster lasagna was delicious. Prime rib cooked on point and loved the sides, they were a little small but the meat made up for it! The duck, it had good flavor but wasn't our favorite good sides though!! 2nd time there.... Staff seemed a little stressed and not as friendly VIBE - LOVED IT! The music started right when we got there and it was perfect for our dinner date. Food - kinda made me sad. The halibut was cooked well but over salted and when it was plated it was a little rough looking. The lamb - tough and did not enjoy it, the rice was bland but the veggies were on point! The others had lobster lasagna and enjoyed and the prime rib and it was just so so that night. drinks: Espresso martini was tasty but served in an odd glass!! Wine was nice and of course when you get anything on the rocks you know what you are in for. Sweets: The Cassata (if I spelled that right) sounded amazing but left us unimpressed. We had kids with us, so we got there an hour before it became 21+. Everyone was friendly, the food came pretty quick relative to how hopping it was. We ordered: Pho-rench dip (w/fries)--I think this was a DDD sandwich, so it's not some hidden gem, but it was super tasty. You cannot go wrong. The slight lime-iness of the dipping broth really kicked it into turbo. Also, we all likes the steak fries--a note on that later. Chicken Cheese Steak (w/fries)--my wife loved it. I tried a bite, and it was great--a little mushroom-forward, but we like that. Mac and Cheese--do not be fooled by the slightly smaller bowl, it is very filling. My son can eat his birth weight in pasta, and he had to tap out! I tried a bite--it was creamy (not grainy at all), and was just the right amount of salty and cheese-funky. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (w/fries)--perhaps the least successful for my family, but only because my daughter prefers a smoky/spicy tomato soup, and this was more on the sweet side. The griled cheese was of the "crispy cheese on the outside" ilk, which my daughter thought was really good. So, totally would go again. IMPORTANT NOTE (to people traveling through Chico, or who don't want to take leftovers)--the sandwiches are pretty big, and the add-on fry order is also sizeable. If we were going again tomorrow, we would either order 1 fry instead of 3. Or split a sandwich. Very very good pub.
