The owner/manager believes your values/actions/beliefs need to align with her own, and is offended when you say you play at other casinos and suggests you don't visit any more. Its a pretty cool place to hang out and play pool. They have a patio for smoking. A lot of people hang out there because the Bar/Karaoke room is so small. Stopped by the other day on Halloween to check out the poker room, my phone had died while I was out about in town. I asked the bartender in the first room if they had any charging I could use and she directed me to the charging station. Poker room was really cool also had a bit of televisions with some sports or other things on. I can be very awkward but none of the staff judged me or talked to me for anything bad and were all very helpful and kind. They also have blackjack, pool, and poker tournaments. If I could give this place negative 5 Stars I would. I went with a group for a fun night and was met with the rudest most draumatic staff I have ever experienced. Sounded like the staff (especially the manager which I would seriously question that position) already started their partying earlier than their patrons. One simple misunderstanding brought about the worst dumpster fire of professionalism in existence. If this is their typical behavior with customers they can just tip themselves. Worst Experience Ever! Never go here!!! For my bachelorette party, my mother in law offered Reno, Sacramento, Vegas but instead I opted for Monroe's. I'd always had a good time there and thought it would be fun to have a kareoke night with family and friends. One of our family members brought a gag gift: a white cream liqueur shot in a sperm looking container. Someone that worked there told us we could not have outside alcohol in their establishment and we would need to get rid of it. We apologized and immediately got rid of them- it makes sense and it was an honest mistake. We thought everything was ok, but then 5 minutes later a short dark haired older woman came in (the manager maybe? She never introduced herself). She began to start berating us stating that we put their entire establishment in jeopardy and we should have known better and we needed to get out immediately. No one argued with her and we all apologized and agreed to leave. As we quietly walked to the door, she walked alongside us saying "you're disgusting" and "get the hell out and never come back". Then to put the icing on the cake, she started fat shaming my sister in law and calling her a fat f***. The behavior of this woman was sickening and unwarranted- we were all compliant with her requests, and no one tried fighting with her at all. We weren't loud party girls or crazy karens... we are all moms who wanted a nice night out to celebrate. The fact anyone could treat others so harshly and cruelly without reason is horrifying. I wouldn't recommend anyone ever going to this place!!! read more

MONROE'S IS NOT PLUS SIZE FRIENDLY Last night on 5/6 I attended the bachelorette party of my soon to be sister in law. We started off at dinner and headed to Monroe's for some Karaoke. We arrived and headed to the back room to get settled in and the soon to be bride opened her gifts. She had received a small box of novelty liquor shots and handed each person in the party one. I declined the shot and watched everyone sillily take their shot. None of us are frequent bar goers and it never crossed our minds that we were breaking any rules. An employee of the bar walked over and said that we couldn't have the shots in the bar in a polite calm manner. To which we all responded with "we are so sorry we had no idea" and quickly discarded all of the beverages. Seconds later, Ileana Harris the owner of the bar, walks in and in a rude and very stern voice tells us she could lose her liquor license and all her employees would be without a job. To which again we all responded with "we are so sorry, we had no idea. The shots are gone, we threw them away." All of us were kind of embarrassed at this point. She then yelled "I want you all out of here, get the f**k out I don't want you to ever come back!" We all gathered up our stuff quickly and headed for the door. As we walked past the Karaoke part of the bar, she stopped in front of the doorway it felt like to almost show off to the customers. Then she proceeded to call us disgusting, she was yelling at the top of her lungs and telling us to get the f**k out and that she was calling the cops. Mind you, we were all completely embarrassed just trying to walk past her and get out of there. A few of the women in the group were still trying to apologize and say we had no idea it was against the rules. We just continued to get belittled by this completely unprofessional business owner. It felt in that moment she wanted to start a fight so she had an actual reason to call the cops. As I was walking by, she was yelling in my ear and telling me how disgusting I was, once again mind you, I was the only one in the group who had taken no shot. I said to her, "your behavior is disgusting." I said it in a quiet tone, not yelling, not in a snotty way, just blown away that we were being treated so poorly, by someone who owns a business. She then proceeded to say "f**k you, you stupid fat b***h, get the f**k out of my bar!" As a plus size woman, I have NEVER been treated like that by ANYONE! It's hard enough to gain the confidence to dress up and go out with a group of friends, then to be treated with such disgust, it completely crushed me. I can't imagine ever treating anyone like that and I cannot for the life of me believe that this place is still in business if this is how customers are treated. I understand now why outside alcohol is not allowed inside of a bar, but it was an honest mistake and it was handled by the first employee professionally. The problem was solved and we should have been allowed to go about our evening and have a good time. Instead, we were all treated like garbage. I recommend going anywhere else that supports their customers and community in a positive manner. read more

It was my first time on a karaoke here in Redding,CA but for me it was a cool place. I had no idea on how things worked and the people there were really polite and helpful. I dropped in here since I was on a road trip and made an overnight stop in Redding,CA.The place is a little old for sure, but it doesn't make you want to run out screaming. Saturday night was awesome and the late night karaoke was great. Lot of young and middle age talented singers ,well some of them were really funny. Parking is ample so nothing to be worried about on a busy weekend. Overall, it's a decent place to go for karaoke. Next time i will try to go with my friends :) read more

Well, since I love karaoke...I appreciate the big stage, quality sound system, 45,000+ songs to choose from, karaoke 7 days a week, and a friendly KJ (karaoke DJ for those of you unfamiliar with the world of karaoke.) I have been to the bar (M onroes) a few times and was alsways impressed with the laid back attitude and complete Karaoke SAVAGES they have in this place. People were happy and friendly. Cute little night club but AWFUL STAFF!!!! The Older blonde bartender was extremely hostile and rude from the time we walked in it was very shocking. When she was asked why she was being rude she immediately had these two men kicking us out with no explanation and being very hostile one even physically started to shove us out the door when we we're trying to figure out why this was happening and asking for our money back. After watching tender taking 3 shots and getting my beer I later came back and just waited and waited for service. Nobody was even behind the bar for 5 min so I left, the security was just sitting there and another employee was on stage singing. I do not mind a hole in the wall bar but tenders taking shots behind the bar is trash and unprofessional. Bar is old and a hole in the wall is ok, the service is horrible this is coming from 20 years in the service industry. What can I say about my favorite place on earth ?? I love love love this place. The hubby and I discovered it about 2 years ago and have not frequented another other bars since. Where to start? The vibe!!! Every One there is so so nice. Not just the staff .but the patrons as well. I know anytime I go I will find hugs, positive affirmations, and loving, caring friends. Magical stuff happens within these walls. The love is unconditional and really real. I can't count how many times the staff has looked out for us and those around us.. Keeping us safe while maintaining the care free, rocking good times. The drinks are killer. I recommend the long islands, peach madris, and the Ami special. Danny and Ami are beasts behind the bar with those bottles!! Always greeting each customer with a smile and often a well placed, smart ass remark that delivers toothy goofy grins right back. They are the faces that keep us happily blasted ... And give the best cuddles!! On a particular afternoon the Stalker Club of Redding (S.C.O.R.) made a visit to the bar inside the Casino Club called Monroes. Upon entering we found the jukebox to be rather loud for the day. That ended when no one else put money in it. The bar is laid out great and our bartender Dan was great with service. We heard the food was great and the beer was cold. The bar has a great smoking area outside supporting two TV'S. Main negative we found was the price of beer. At 3PM we find $3.75 for a bottle beer to rather high. this does not suit the club for prices. Overall we rate the bar a 2.5 Six Pack. read more

The whole place was full of intoxicated people, but for some reason the bartender decided that after my friends and I had 3 shots each, it was time to tell us that she was ' going to have to monitor ' our drinking, and wouldn't serve us any more alcohol. (Which i have never been told in my life. Much less after not even getting a buzz.) As she continued to pour shots for the rest of her customers/buddies at the other end of the bar. This place is fun to go to just stick to policy which is I guess important if you're going here you better bring your ID or they're not gonna let you in period I was there the night before got their 930 sharp to sign up for karaoke and they told me I couldn't come in period this place gets 2 stars because people that stick to policy every time is jus kinda lame.
