We stopped by Castor's Laundromat to do some laundry before we head back home to Cali. I don't like doing laundry when I get back home from a vacay. The service was really good. I was able to purchase my laundry detergent, softener, and dryer sheets there. They also had a good amount of washers and dryers. There was plenty of room for folding as well. Okay so I added an extra star because the staff helped me here a few times when I had issues with a washing machine or dryer. They are very helpful when I have something go wrong. The inside small and has a television that you can watch dramas or news but in this case football because it's football season. I ended up doing laundry for an hour and a half total time which isn't too bad. Interesting people here. I actually met an older lady that comes here with her husband every Sunday too. Such a nice lady to chat with. Carts available if you get here early or when people are done doing laundry. I try to get here before 7 am on Sundays. I don't mind driving out here as it's the closest location to me. read more

Could not understand the instructions on how to use machines!? No one there to help me!

I didn't have as much luck at the other laundromat in Waipahu with washing our big king size comforter because none of their machines ended up being large enough to successfully wash them and it's really the only reason I've been on the search for a laundromat. So back on my mission since our dog managed to dirty our comforter...again! Ugh! I was starting to get worried because it's not like there's a hundred options for laundromats, especially near us but I managed to find Castor's. I completely forgot to grab my laundry products. Even worst, I didn't realize until I arrived after a 15 min drive. I figured, might as well check out the facility since I'm already there. I walked in and was greeted by the sweetest aunty. To my surprise they had products for single use for sale, so already off to a good start. They even had snacks and some other random stuff for sale. The aunty could tell I needed help and initiated, asking me what is there to wash and helped me determine the best washer and dryer. Sure enough they had machines that could easily fit or king comforter. They even had bigger machines too. And I think it was less expensive than the last laundromat e used. This place is in a perfect location because you can eat or shop while you wait for your clothes to wash and dry! The man who was in the office, (I think he was the owner?) was very helpful. We were very appreciative of his help. He told us what to do, which machine to use, and told us how long it would take. After a light lunch at a nearby popular restaurant, we went back to place our laundry into the dryer. What was nice about this place is that they remove your laundry and set it aside for you, so even if you return a few minutes late, they don't get upset with you. We then placed the laundry in a dryer. Then we left to go to a car wash nearby. By the time we got back, it had a minute more left on the dryer and then we were all done! Perfect! read more

Definitely recommend it if you're in need to wash and dry clothes. Like others have posted, it's a coin-laundry facility so bring your quarters. If not, you can always exchange your bills here. I was in need of a laundromat because the one in Pearl City closed down. I came here and my first impression of this place was that it was very tight with little space to move around which makes it hard when people need to go to the washers/dryers. Also most of the washers are OUT OF ORDER which is very convenient. The people are rude here and to top it off... I was waiting almost 15 min for a smaller washer to open up but had no luck. So I put it in a big washer and inserted some of my coins, as I was inserting them a smaller washer got freed up. So I asked the lady behind the counter if I could have my money back and change to a smaller washer and she said no they can't do that. Sad to say but I won't be returning back here. read more

Decided to come here when the washing machine at the house I rent stopped working and is going to take a while to get it replaced. Was pleasantly surprised. The lady in charge, I don't know if she's the owner or the manager or what but she was very helpful and friendly when a couple of the machines ate a few of my quarters. She kept the place clean and definitely knew what she was doing. I was disappointed that several machines were out of order, but I went in on a Monday afternoon and was able to do my laundry right away. Not the best looking and clean laundromat but it would definitely do the job effectively and quickly. I'm used to doing my own laundry at home so I'm not sure what's the going rate in the laundromat market as far as pricing/ how much it cost per load for wash and dryer. I just thought this place was expensive. I only used the dryer and it was 25 cents for 3 mins. But the dryers where those heavy duty dryers and it can take a big load and dries in at least 30 minutes. This place all have heavy duty washes and dryers which explains why it's a bit costly in my eyes. I like that they have big baskets on wheels and a snack shop. If you need change for quarters, they got it. They also have ample parking space and it's not that hard to find. read more

We are in Hawaii from Ohio for 15 days. Don't want to wash clothes on vacation. So I looked up some places read the reviews and decided Castor's was the place. It's 2.50 a pound we had 34 pounds. They got it done in about 6 hours. But may take at least 24 hours sometimes. Everything was folded nice and professionally done. I highly recommend this place. Honest and trustworthy. Started going there since our washer/dryer went kaput. Twice I messed up with the amount of soap I used so the washer would not go to the rinse cycle The kind owner had to save me and she kept smiling at my daughter. Perhaps I just came around a bad time, but my experience here was pretty disappointing. It was a late Sunday evening when Jeff and I went to dry our clothes. The laundromat at the Westgate Center had closed early because the man that was in charge of the place said he felt sick and wanted to close up already. This one was a bit packed. I don't know if it was because they had to come to this laundromat as well or not, I don't know the flow of people that come in and out of this place. One thing that's different is that over here it is 25 cents for every 3 minutes, and our laundry takes about 35 minutes to dry. Dang. lol. It was kinda hard finding a dryer because many of them had "Do Not Use" signs. Some of the signs looked like it was placed fairly recently while other signs had their words faded. We were lucky enough to claim dibs on a dryer that this woman was emptying out when we came in. Honestly, I'd like to come back here at least once more to really get a feel of the place but this was my first impression. read more

I went on a weekday around 1:30pm and there was hardly anyone there. They were helpful in telling me which washer to use as I had to wash a large fluffy comforter. Right when you walk in to the left are the average washers, straight back are the larger washers and along the walls are the dryers. It took $9.00 to wash (25 or so minutes) and $5 for dry (40 minutes on Med temp.) Better than the dry cleaners! read more

I really really love this laundromat, it is close to home, and the washers are big enough to wash my bedding and clothes! The prices have gone up a couple dollars since Last Year, It all depends on the washer you use anyway. The basic ones are $4 and the bigger professional ones go up to about $8 for basic cycle. The dryer is $0.25 for 3min. Obviously it is cheaper since you are not using water. Parking can be a hit or miss, especially since it is shared in the Pacific Supermarket and Jollibee. We went on a Sunday mid-afternoon (330-4p) and there was plenty of parking! Getting quarters for the washers is easy, you just need to go to the window, and ask for how much you need. We had three large loads of laundry and it was about $20-30! I do enjoy that they have a t.v while you wait, and also at the window they have dry sheets or more laundry detergent or even fabric softener just it case you ran out, forgot yours, or just need more. Even if it closes at 9p, the last wash ends at 730p. So make sure you don't head there last minute! read more

We've been here a few times now hence the duchess. Lol. Every time we've come it's been busy. First time my son was sick and vomit all over his bedsheets, ours and a ton of towels and clothing. It was easier to just wash here in their huge washers instead of making 5 loads at a time. We also don't have a dryer at home here and we hang dry so if we're not feeling up to hang drying this place is very convenient because their dryers are very fast. They sell soap and fabric softener if you need along with snacks drinks etc if you will be here for a while. It gets pretty busy here so we try not to come a lot since we can do it at home.
