I came at a good time, there was plenty of parking and machines available. I was there for about a half hour before it got busy. The Laundromat was clean and there are brooms available. I like this aspect because it emphasizes this is a community place and it is on the community to keep it clean. If you are in Wahiawa and need to wash laundry, check this place out!

To the West, there's Waianae laundromat but their machines don't dry as fast, and are always broken. I don't know what people are expecting about Nanakuli laundromat. Have they looked around? There are a lot of chronics on the Westside, period. They need bars on the laundromat to keep things operational. They are dual purpose, as I'll mention later. Anyway, same with Castor's in Waipahu, bars are not a prison to keep you in--they are there to keep you safe from what's outside. What's outside are not all that people sensationalize, either. People who are living with addiction are no different than the people who have the pile of Amazon boxes at their door, or who buy wine in bulk to get the 15% off, or those who go to Vegas more than once a year to strike it big. You know who strikes it big? The State of Hawaii--they track your earnings. My co-worker had to owe on her taxes for paying slot machines in Vegas! That's just aside that might save someone the difference between having money for Tide versus the generic soap. See that transition? Some reviewers need to get real. If you want a nice place to wash your clothes and have A/C and free WiFi, this is NOT the place. If you spill some thing, there is no water, so bring your own. There is only a little spigot trickling water, crammed behind a hole in plywood. It is very inventive to cut down on using such a precious resource--mālama 'āina, y'all! What would you rather have, to watch a random person take an improvised shower in front of you or the high cost of machines due to water-waste,? At Nanakuli laundromat, you get neither! And yes, they are short on space but then again, I'd rather have more machines to not have to wait for machines rather than more space to wait around in. If people are clinically obese, then the heat on warm days can help them sweat off some water weight. Also, maybe instead of watching their clothes inside, people can exercise walking back and forth outside because you can see the machines through the bars! See! I told you bars aren't so bad! This was such a great experience for a first timer: the place was well ventilated, well lit, and so clean. In fact another patron let her baby crawl all over the place. I brought detergent pods which luckily I could use in the industrial machines. How nice, I've always told my boss we needed industrial machines. It only took 22 min to wash my laundry and I did 45 min to dry since I had the blanket. The machine take coins or card via QR code and you can set up and account for the establishment online. It even shows you how much time your machines have remaining. Laundry carts were clean, not rusted. Folding tables were clean and spacious. Plenty of seating and games and books to keep kids entertained. The best part was Corrine, the very helpful attendant. She was so sweet and so patient with me as I navigated using the laundromat for the first time. Will absolutely come back when I need to. The whole cost for me was $21.

As mentioned earlier, we also both work 9-5s so this was the only place we could go to for drop-off and pickup that works with our hours. The reason why I removed two stars is the customer service. I went in and this lady was blasting a radio or show full volume on her phone. There's nothing wrong with that, but what was wrong was that she just left it on while talking to me which caused a listening problem for her. Both my first and last name are very hard to spell if you don't have a lot of experience with Japanese name(s) so having to spell it out letter by letter is something I'm used to. But the fact that I was practically yelling at her over the counter trying to drown out whatever she was listening to in the background made me frustrated and anyone walking in would think I'm the bad guy. Eventually, she turned off her phone but that took too long when it should have been turned off when I walked in the establishment. To save me the aggravation of my last name, I just pulled out my ID so she could follow that. I also knocked another star off for no communication. She took down my name and phone number and gave me a date and time to pick-up and she said she would call when it's ready. Monday comes around...no call. Tuesday...no call. Eventually by Thursday there was no communication and my husband had to go in himself to pick it up, but who knows how long it's been ready waiting for us to pick it up. I needed to get my two piece Ivy Park suit set dry cleaned as I wore it on a night I drank a little too much and fell many times in it, getting it pretty dirty. I believe I took my item in on the 29th of December? I wasn't in a rush to get my items back, just wanted it clean. So they said it would be ready today, Monday the 3rd of January. It was ready and the woman that helped me while dropping it off and picking it up was so nice! When I picked it up today she took out the items to show them they were cleaned and the put them away for me. All together it was $18.35 for both pieces. Truly have no idea if that is a good price or not but it is clean and I am happy. The spot was a bit hard to find as the address leads you to the back of the building in the parking lot. You can park there and walk around for the front or ring the doorbell for the back entrance! If I ever need to get something dry cleaned again, this will be my spot!
