When I moved to Hayward it took me awhile to find…read moresomeone I could really trust- I was literally driving to Sunnyvale to have my former barber cut my hair, and had been doing that for another three years while I lived in Millbrae- the point is I don't have a lot of trust when it comes to barbers, so when I say that Jack is a fantastic barber that should mean something. One word of warning though is that he does keep a schedule- if you show up late he will likely ask you to come back later or to reschedule rather than delay other customers who are on time. He isn't rude about it, but he is strict about it. On the positive side this also means you can be pretty sure that your appointment will be on time.

I booked an appointment with Marlon at MGX Barbers, and the experience was seamless. The shop is in a prime location with plenty of parking and is easy to find. There are several other businesses nearby (CVS, Safeway, etc.), which is extremely convenient if you need to run errands before or after your appointment. Now, for the good stuff: my experience with Marlon. He was ready well ahead of our scheduled time. He took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for, asked clarifying questions, and kept checking in throughout the process. This immediately gave me confidence that my satisfaction was his primary goal. I also appreciated that he asked for honest feedback; he made it clear that his goal was to deliver a result I was truly happy with. The environment was clean and professional. I usually visit shops solo first to see if it's a good environment for my kids, and this place definitely felt family-friendly. Prices are competitive for the Bay Area, and given the quality of service, the cost is well-warranted. I can definitely see myself coming back here for many more haircuts.

I was 5 minutes late for ONE haircut (where I let him know in advance we were running late), and after that he started ghosting me whenever I tried to schedule.
