Went in for a natural fill without polish because I usually paint them at home with my own nail polish & was charged for a fill with gel polish. I was okay with paying $30 even though I wasn't getting my nails painted. By no means was I trying to pay less than $30, but her charging me $40 dollars for a $30 service is very unprofessional. Tech was not happy when I showed her prices listed on their own price list. Not a good experience as a first time customer. Will not be returning. After being a loyal customer at Casual Nails for years, I am glad to say I will no longer be giving them my business. Up until recently, they were my go-to nail salon. Unfortunately, after the change in ownership that all changed. It became a "nail mill". Over the past year their service had gone downhill, their work isn't the same and the salon is dirty. The quicker and sloppier they can get you in and out the better. They won't listen to how you wanted your nails done. When I showed the new owner Vanessa a picture of how I wanted my nails shaped, she actually laughed at me and said "oh you are so silly coming in here with a picture" and preceded to shape them in a way I hated. Actually none of them matched so I'm not sure what the shape was. In addition, the techs are rude & talk in Vietnamese about the customers amongst themselves (gossiping and laughing). Do not go here if you want to be treated with respect. Thankfully, I have now found an amazing new nail tech who provides a calm pleasant environment and puts the customer's needs first, provides new modern technology and listens to the shape you want. I would get a dip manicure bi-weekly and a pedicure once a month for several years. If you do the math, that's thousands of dollars. I'd also like to point out that I drive almost an hour out of my way to get to Casual Nails. Up until recently, they weren't my go-to nail salon as I have been in and out of Arizona for almost a year. But I always made it a point to get my nails done at Casual Nails when I was back in town and in need of a mani/pedi. To make a long story short, I recently got a pedicure by a nail tech I had never been with before and she did a poor job but unfortunately, I didn't notice until I got home. I let the owner know who told me I could go back, and they would fix it. Well, considering I live an hour away, I couldn't just go back the very next day. So I went that weekend and they failed to mention they'd be closed Memorial weekend. So I ended up getting it fixed at another salon and having to pay for a whole pedicure again. I went back today for a dip manicure and confirmed with the owner if I could still get the pedicure free of charge and she said yes. After both my services were done, the nail tech who did my dip manicure and who just did a color change, not even a full pedicure, charged me full price for both services and instantly began arguing with me when I explained the owner said I wasn't going to be charged to have my toes done. She got very defensive and rather than argue with her, I paid and left. She couldn't even tell me what the cost was for each service. I didn't even bother to call the owner to handle the situation. I was the bigger, better person and decided, I will just never be back. When I walked out of the salon and saw my nails in the sun, the topcoat was bumpy and there was also lint painted underneath the top coat on a few nails. Sloppy work. I am very disappointed and sad that after frequenting this place for years and referring so many friends to them, that this is how I was treated. This all occurred with the nail tech I have loyally gone to for years, who I have built a relationship with, brought coffee to, brought gifts to during the holidays, etc. And this is the treatment I get. Ripped off and treated poorly. What a shame. Although I had noticed over the past year when I would get my nails done while in Arizona that the service had gone downhill, their work wasn't the same and the salon was dirty. On recommendation I made an appointment for dip nails today. The tech was dismissive, and I was REALLY nice about the odd shapes and dip in one thumb BEFORE she put on top coat. I was exhausted, and have never had to closely examine before I left a salon, so I stopped at the grocery next door. In the grocery I noticed she was really sloppy about my cuticles, and one nail was chipped out at the tip. I found my courage, and went back. I was nice, and she refined, picked and filed at my cuticles, slapped on a gel sealer. It was chunky. I asked if it will peel. She said no. It had better come unstuck from my skin or I'll never go back. read more

Casual Nail was recommended to me by my friend who's nails are always beautiful. I went in to have my nails repaired or replaced. They were chipping and coming off after two weeks at Saigon Nails - NOT CASUAL NAILS. I was a walk-in so I expected a little bit of a wait. I waited perhaps 10 minutes at the most, even though they were quite busy. I decided to have the nails replaced. I had pink & white done. They are beautiful!! Reasonable length and shaped perfectly. I had gone there once before but maybe three years ago and it was a good experience, this time it was ok. I walked in for a refill and requested that I didn't want my nails to be too filed down from the cuticle because my nails grow way too fast, the girl responded with "we filed it because that prevents from raising up "or something along those lines, I asked her to get them shorter and after she did the refill she just filed the length. I didn't mind the length too much so I let it go, what I didn't appreciate was that she say "I will filed it down as I always do so the acrylic doesn't separate " (don't remember the exact word she used to say it could break from the cuticle to be honest) and so she finished the filing and then got up and moved to another costumer without telling me she was done, another lady came and finished the nail polish, they were busy but letting mw know someone else was taking over would of been nice, i heard the other ladies being super friendly and i didnt get the same, maybe because i was new. They are always fast to get you in. The women asked me to pick a color off the rack. I'm not new to pedicure and nails set. I know those aren't gel polishes. gel polish of those brands are in white bottles and they have the same color in a clear bottle for regular polish. I picked a color. I asked her for the book for the gel. She argued with me saying the colors on there were gel. I choose a different color. Again she comes back and explains don't you want the other one. I state no she goes back and grabs the actual gel polish in the box with matching regular color that's in a clear bottle. Be careful . They did not file my toes. Same with my nails. It was literally the most basic mani pedi for over pricing. 30$ for gel polish that chipped two days later. The service ended up being 73$. Plus tip. I've been going here for many years, but my tech seems to have become complacent about my patronage. In over the past 6 months, she's NEVER been on time. She's left me sitting more than half an hour past my appointment. I'm very respectful of their time, and showed up 10-15 minutes early every time so I can have my color picked out, and ready. I expect the same in return, promptness. That, and her constant nagging about paying cash were enough to send me elsewhere. My new place does not nag about cash, and is on time for my appointments. I don't like to leave bad reviews. But this place was awful. Where do I begin? My nails are crooked and all wrong. Not to mention I paid $56 for a FILL. I'm from Los Angeles and I've never paid that! The gel they put on my acrylics is lumpy and not even. I had had two nails that needed a new acrylic. They put a tip on one nail and never waited for the glue to dry, filed it and broke off my actual nail. So painful. I actually had to take the file and shape my own nails because they did such a bad job, and the owner did my nails. She was too concerned with helping others and answering the phone, never asked me one question about myself. Horrible customer service. I wanted to cry. Worst nail experience ever. They just wanted to get me out of there. And I'm sure I was overcharged. Incredibly disappointed. I guess go to this business if you just want simple nails. Walked in and salon equipment is old and dated. The atmosphere wasn't very friendly and I noticed return customers were greeted and conversed with. I feel out of place and uncomfortable. I was seated immediately and given a blanket I assume to cover my legs but I wasn't the only one wearing shorts. The guy doing the pedicure was extremely rough and cut my nails awkwardly. I wish I could give this place negative stars. I have gone in here in the past due to the convenience. I will start off by saying that THERE ARE GOOD TECHNICIANS. Vanessa is lovely she has done my nails and they were great. However, Shirley ( the owner) is the most disrespectful and rude person i have ever had the misfortune to meet. She talks badly about her customers behind their back if they are even a second late to their appointment. I went in today to get a mani pedi, first of all i left with dead skin on my feet (ew gross i know) but the pedicure was short and obviously not good enough because my feet were not properly taken care of. Secondly, Shirley's daughter is the one who did my nails. I didn't know until after i left it was her daughter. Her daughter did my nails so bad that i attempted to have another technician, Jason (also very good and nice) fix them. They were so crooked and mis shapen after me trying to nicely have her correct them that he couldn't really do anything to make me like them. He offered to soak them off for me and have me come back in for an appointment with him on Friday, which i gladly agreed to. When I went to go pay Shirley told me to pay for the nails and the pedicure. Surprised at this, I asked "what?". She proceeded to yell at me in front of an entire room full of people, telling me that I needed to pay for the nails because I was there for two hours, that i didn't communicate properly with her daughter because she spoke really good english and has six years of experience, told me they have the right fo refuse service and they would no longer be doing my nails, and overall just completely embarrassed me. I would like to make it very clear I was polite and let her talk the entire time. I told her I didn't want to pay for the nails because I wasn't even leaving the store with anything done. She told me that I am too picky and i can't get my nails done there anymore. I paid for my pedicure and on my way out she started talking to people saying that I was very rude. That genuinely hurt my feelings. I know she was offended because her daughter did a bad job and I didn't like them, but me and her daughter actually had a very nice conversation while i was getting my nails done it was nothing personal. Of course the second I turned around I started crying my eyes out. Every single person I told this story to, told me that when they got shirley's daughter that she did an absolutely terrible job. I was unsure of what she charged me for my pedicure so i called upset knowing a pedicure was $27 but i was charged $32. Shirley took my phone number and texted me to harass me, saying she has proof on her cameras i was there without paying (i did pay for the pedicure and when i said i didn't want to pay for my nails she said "fine" and let me leave, nothing wrong on my end there, she let me leave the business). She also double texted me after i did not answer saying i had abused her daughter and threatened her business. I really hope nobody will go here anymore and support this woman who is cruel to her customers. She embarrassed me and yelled at me in a room full of people. I will never go here again for other services and this woman deserves to lose her business. My story was posted on a residents of ranch i facebook page. over 100 comments and almost all of them were people saying they've had awful experiences with them too. Convenient location next to Fry's with easy access to parking. I have been here twice, they are timely, courteous and efficient. I'm pleased with the variety of colors they have offer. The leg and foot massage was great. The interior is ok, the choice of decor a bit off but otherwise pleasant. I'm able to make appointments with ease and they appear to have plenty of staff to take a walk in on a weekday. I would recommend them and I will definitely return for my next nail appointment. If these factors are not important to you I would say this is a nice overall salon. The people are very nice and they do a great job spending time on callus and massage. I plan on coming back only because they do a decent job and it's two miles from my house. My recommendation for the salon is newer nail colors and cleaning up the salon. I called last minute on a Sunday morning and casual Nails was able to get my daughter-in-law, my granddaughter and me in for services in the afternoon. My DIL loved her manicure and my pedicure was one of the best that I have had. And my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter thought it was just the best thing in the world!! A man did my nails.....I wish I had gotten his name......he gave the BEST foot and toe massage I have ever had. It was amazing!! 2 weeks later, my nails still look great (I do regular polish, not gel). My mother is elderly, blind and just out of the hospital. She needed a pedicure badly so I called and made an appointment. I told them we had to sit together because she is blind and also they knew she had been in the hospital. It was difficult to get her inside because of the lack of parking. We had to walk along ways and up steps which is hard for her. When we finally arrived every chair was filled but one. When I asked about it I was told by a very rude woman that they would sit us together but we would have to wait. When I checked it out I could see that it would be a very LONG wait. Needless to say, we left. I have had my nails done here and some of the techs are very nice, but impersonal. Tried this place 4 times & got one really nice pedicure. Wanted to get a basic pedicure/manicure before my knee surgery. OMG - this was the worst experience EVER. The finished mani was so rough I had to go over it when I got home. The pedi . . . Done on 11/16 and I still have scabs on the top of my foot on Thanksgiving.
