I phoned them daily from Europe to check in on my aged cat - and as I flew back to her side she passed. Fast, zero hassle, low cost and very professional. Dr. Innes is a great vet and will answer your questions in a straight-forward manner, and is very caring. The exam room is rather low-tech with older equipment, but this does not affect the excellent treatment Tango received. FYI, no appointments are taken, this is a drop-in clinic. Busiest times are Saturdays, first thing in the AM, noon and late in the afternoon. That said, I showed up right at 8 and only had to wait about 5 mins. read more

Not to sound like a broken record, but these guys are top notch. The clinic is no-nonsense with a compassionate staff. At first the "no appointments" thing scared be (I envisioned an hour wait), but we were seen within 10 minutes, just like everyone else. I especially like that they don't try to sell you on anything other than just what you need and are all about what works for your cat, not for them and their pocketbooks. I've always been lucky to have great vets for my cats but Cat Clinic has been the easiest and most reasonably priced of any. Dr. Innes is great -- clearly knowledgeable, a great communicator and made me feel confident about leaving my cat there for a small surgery on a cyst. Appointments are often available same day and staff are friendly and efficient. My cat, who has had some difficult vet experiences before (due to the nature of the procedures, I think, not the care of past vets) has often been nervous/stressed out at vet visits, but after getting microchipped and operated on at Cat Clinic, he seemed to be completely unfazed. I put this down to good "bedside" manner. At any rate, I feel lucky to have Cat Clinic so conveniently located, knowing that my cat will always be in good hands. read more

Kitty Charm School cat hotel in Mill Valley absolutely loves the Cat Clinic! With up to 60 cats boarding at KCS on any given day of the year, we certainly see our share of kitty issues. While we do our best to use each cat's normal vet, many vets are backlogged with appts, or aren't local. In those cases, the Cat Clinic has become our "go to" vet clinic for a number of reasons. First of all, they are highly qualified/great vets. Of course many vets in Mill Valley are qualified, but Cat Clinic wins our consistent business for a number of other reasons. One is that they are incredibly convenient with their "no appt needed, just walk in" stance. We LOVE that! It's amazing because we go there A LOT and have never had to wait more than 15 mins, and usually wait less than 5. Another lovely thing is that they are open 6 days a week. And on the 7th day (Sunday)? If you have an urgent question, their answering service will beep them for you- and this goes for the middle of the night, too. Another thing we appreciate about the Cat Clinic, is that in non-emergency situations like an upset tummy, they sometimes choose to try and treat the symptom VS (or before) recommending countless tests that can cost thousands of dollars. In each of these instances, their recommendation has been correct and treating the symptom worked right away. Speaking of money, we have always found the Cat Clinic's rates to be incredibly fair. Just yesterday I brought a kitty in that had a feline herpes eye infection developing. I walked in unannounced and was escorted right into my waiting room. Dr Innis checked the kitty and recommended eye drops and an antibiotic shot to prevent secondary infections. I was in & out of there in 10 mins and the bill was $82.80, including medications. Unheard of! Lastly, and this sure makes a giant difference - they only take cats! So the place is library quiet every single time we come. Very refreshing place. David and Greg have cared for all my cats for the past 37 years. I had a couple of less than satisfactory experiences before I found the Mill Valley Cat Clinic. The care they have provided has always been 5 stars at a very reasonable fee. I just called to make an appointment for my 7 year old Sumo and Dr Andrew Logan (new associate veteranian) personally answered the phone. I must say I am somewhat apprehensive to have Sumo placed under general anesthesia to have his teeth cleaned and polished but I trust this practice completely and know it should be done. As a dentist I see many friends pets that have periodontal issues just at a glance. Keeping your pets gums healthy should be a priority. Some cats actually die an early death from a dental abscess. I love you guys and thank you for existing!! Wish I had come here sooner. 130$ at another place gave me no diagnosis, antibiotics and pain meds, which did not work. They wanted to do an x-ray and sedation, I didn't do it because the sedation made me uncomfortable. A couple days later for the same price Cat Clinic gave me the diagnosis, pain and anti inflammatory meds, without any sedative or x-ray. I learned my lesson to save my cat pain and go to Cat Clinic first. read more

My cat has seen Dr. David Innes during the past six years for everything from a well visit checkup to a raccoon attack. I've never had a pet actually purr during a doctor's appointment. Our little girl is used to running around freely, and has only been in a carrier once before in 13 years. So when she had a minor eye problem, it was a battle to get her in the carrier, and yowled her head off on the way over. Then we got to the Cat Clinic, and I discovered the secret... Dr. David Innes is the Cat Whisperer. "You want to grab my head, twist it around, and drop weird colored liquid in my eyeball? Sure! You want to jab needles in my throat and suck out my blood? No sweat! I like you! You're a nice man! Purrr!!!!" I also asked him about a bunch of things like getting her chipped. This place over vaccinated my cats and also used one vaccination that is not even used any more because it is known to cause cancer. I went to 3 different vets after this place and they all told me the same thing and were shocked to see the list of vaccinations used by this place. I never write reviews but my poor cat of not even 4 years old was diagnosed with cancer and had to have her leg amputated. Be careful about getting your kittens vaccinated at this place. Go to the vet in the city in Pacific Heights. Do not take your kittens here. read more

In 2013 I brought my cat here by a recommendation of a colleague. Best decision ever. I had brought my cat to another vet with problems with her mouth & after $600, my cat being drugged, having no resolution and being told to come back the next day so they can examine her again. I called my friend to get the name of their vet and the next day I brought my cat to Cat Clinic. After 5 minutes with my cat they were able to diagnose her. Turns out she had to have 2 teeth pulled & she's been healthy ever since. Would highly recommend Cat Clinic to anybody and they only work with cats so it's a bit less stressful for your cat. read more

This is a cat and reptile only clinic that we bring one of our three cats to as he gets very stressed out when there are doggies barking at the vets here that our other cats go to. They are very caring and since they specialize in cats they go the extra mile to make sure the little guy feels comfortable and not too stressed as he usually gets some awful thing done to him while here. They really are the most caring of people here. They have once even seen us outside the regular hours for a cat health emergency. read more

I went here for a second opinion when my aged kitty was in serious, and quick decline. Dr. Craig helped me avoid thousands in vet fees, and is giving her a great quality of life. Kitty improved quickly, and is much happier now. She received knowledgeable, practical, and compassionate care, and I was helped to understand her condition, and choose a reasonable course of treatment. I am glad that I did not allow her prior vet do further unnecessary procedures and tests. After months (and costs) of ineffective treatment, she was dying in front of my eyes. Fortunately I was able to "keep my wits" and find these wonderful doctors in time. The front desk is kind and efficient, parking is easy, the space is comfortable. I'm SO glad I chose this cat clinic for Zoe! I was worried about making the wrong choice with her since she's 14 years old. We recently moved to Mill Valley and there are so many veterinarians to choose from but the Cat Clinic was definitely the right choice! Front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. They had Zoe's records from her last vet and the wait was reasonable. We saw Dave Innes for the exam and this was the first chilled out visit Zoe has ever had! I was amazed at how relaxed she was with Dave throughout the visit. She was offering up her belly and barely meowed with the two shots she got. We took Atom, our baby, love of our lives, to this clinic, and were told that he had lymphoma and that it was aggressive. No warning, no instructions on how to care for him, no indication of how long he may be expected to live. The doctor wasn't even there when we came to pick him up to take him home, and had left no instructions with his staff. Absolutely compassionless. Atom convulsed and died shortly after arriving home. I cannot recommend this clinic lowly enough. One star is one too many. read more

I always appreciated the low-key, non-greedy, non-guilt-tripping staff and Doctors here...I took my cat, Rose, there only once perhaps, but now and then over the course of her 17 year life in California with me the folks at The Cat Clinic would answer my questions for free, with no hassle. My extraordinary cat lived til just today! At 18 years she was finally in pain from tumors; had had a slow decline for over a month--quite comfortably....I was so glad Dr. Dave and his colleague/assistant REPEATEDLY COUNSELLED me about reletive merits of care and reassured me I was in fact doing all one can do. And when Euthanasia was clearly needed, today I went in and out of their offices crying, and they remained completely patient and gave me whatever irrational or rational information I requested through my tears. This place is fantastic! If I recommend anything in Yelp it's the Cat Clinic. Our poor car Reboot has been sick for years with diarrhea and vomiting and we have tried everything and 2 other vets. The latest vet had him on antiobiotics for the last year and still no results. We were at our wits end. We finally took him to the Cat Clinic last week and the vet diagnosed him and gave him a shot of steroids and some pills and the result is amazing! He is finally getting so much better and has normal bowel movements. I HIGHLY recommend this place! read more

And when it was time for her to go to heaven, they were calm and compassionate and made the experience as tolerable as they could. I took them one at a time to the Saturday, drop in (no appointment needed...shocking!!) and only waited about 5 to 10 minutes to be seen. The Cat Clinic is a wonderful place to take your cat. It has a clinical atmosphere, yet the staff are friendly and very informative. I had assumed my cat Dudley needed some dental work, but in fact he has an abcess on his tounge. Great vet. They clearly like cats and know how to treat them. Very low key office. The no set appointment policy is a huge improvement over the typical vets appointment only policy. They don't "over treat" your cats or pretend they are science projects like they do at the horrible Pets Unlimited in SF. Today I had to put down my cat who just turned 15 years old. Dr. Dave was so compassionate and to me and my cat. He is the best. He has been our vet for over 15 years and would not use any other vet.
