I was seated right away at a table and service was good. Sarah was very friendly and on top of everything. She made sure I was happy with the local hard apple cider I chose. The soup wasn't a really big bowl, but it was very good. Just the right amount of cheese and great onion soup flavor. I could have eaten 2 bowls . I stopped in because ChatGPT recommended giving this place a try. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, although they seemed a bit understaffed during my visit. As a result, the food took longer to arrive than what I'm used to at most airport restaurants. Fortunately, my flight was delayed, so the wait wasn't a major issue. I ordered the shrimp tacos. While the shrimp itself had good flavor, the meal was served noticeably cold, which was disappointing. The crumbled goat cheese was chunkier than Chunk from the Goonies,,,and much less entertaining, The onion soup was nothing better than Campbell's Chunky soup with some fresh, mostly raw, onions tossed in. The croutons was a mass of uncooked bread that combined with the cheese (good quality cheese, btw) to make a paste worthy of repairs to the chapels of the greatest Catholic cathedrals world around. Our gate was A12 so Cat Cora's was the choice for dinner! It was surprisingly delicious. Hubby got a penne arrabbiata (actually very spicy) and I got a crispy chicken wrap. My mom got the soup, dad got the shrimp, and uncle got a salad (large and tasty). The service was really good! Super friendly, quick. They let us stay for as long as we needed until it was time to board. Beautiful views out the window. Lots of booths/ tables. I decided on my appetizer and dinner and as I was waiting for my server, I decided to download some movies options for the flight ahead since it was something I'd forgotten to do. At one point I noticed a couple came in and was seated and a few minutes later their server came and took their order. Okay. After they got their drinks a little later I noticed a group of 3 came in and were seated in another area closer to me, no problems there. Then I noticed a server came and took their order as well, meanwhile, I have yet to even be greeted by a server. I sat for a few more minutes and then I got annoyed. I walked to the bartender and asked if there was a manager available ... he said he didn't see her and then started asking different employees if they've seen Rita because a customer wants to speak to her. A minute or two after that announcement is when my server (the one that took the order for the party of 3) decided to come to me, and asked if I needed anything, and I replied "no". Even though the bar was busy, the bartender would acknowledge me and just let me know that sometimes the manager has to go to another floor to get something, but she's never gone for long. When the manager was finally approaching the restaurant I saw her being stopped at the entrance by 2 or 3 of the staff and they begin talking to her so once she comes to me (before I am able to state the issue) she very nicely starts to tell me that the servers are assigned certain areas and the restaurant is short staffed. I explained this is not my first time in a restaurant and my server attended to another table immediately upon their arrival before me who had been sitting there for almost 20 minutes and didn't acknowledge me until my request for a manager. She did offer me a free meal and drink which I declined because I am not a person that stays anywhere that I don't feel welcome. This was a disappointment. The restaurant does have a nice relaxed, ambience and again the bartender was a really nice guy. I won't be back. read more

We ordered something simple: A burger with a side of fries . The burger was thick, juicy, and seasoned moderately. I added a bit of salt, but overall it was a satisfying, enjoyable meal before our next flight. And the prices Surprisingly reasonable for an airport restaurant! One small thing to note: our order did take a little longer than we expected, but it might have been due to how busy they were at that time. Still, a slightly faster pace would make the experience even more perfect especially for travelers on a schedule. All in all, I think this will be my go-to spot anytime I'm passing through Detroit. I went for the Cobb salad with chicken and it was deliciously filled with lots of fresh flavorful toppings. As with any airport restaurant, it was a tad pricey but that's to be expected. Before my flight I walked over to see the "please seat yourself sign". I sat down at a table that looked clean to the naked eye but just had a single knife laid on it. I didn't mind waiting for someone to clean it or even eating on it how it was. A woman working there rushed by me yelling as she walked "MAMM THAT TABLE IS DIRTY, come on get it together".... Had a bit of a slow start here, but it turned out to be a good experience. I waited around the entrance for a while waiting to be seated. The hostess seated the couple that was ahead of me and then disappeared, but then a different staff waitress came and flipped the "Please wait to be seated" and sign and told everyone waiting we could seat ourselves. After seating myself it again felt like it took a while for someone to come take my order, and after ordering my beer looked like it had probably been poured a few minutes before it was brought to me, but my food came out in a reasonable time and I was able to pay reasonably quickly as well. My waitress was nice. From the time I got in line to get in to the time I left was probably around 45 minutes which is just fine for a table service restaurant. I thought my food and beer were really good. I had the gnocchi primavera ($24) and an Oberon Eclipse raspberry wheat ale by Bell's Brewing ($11). The gnocchi were pleasantly chewy and the sauce was delicious - very flavourful and a little spicy. I read a few Google reviews with complaints about too much fennel seed in this dish. I liked the fennel and I would say it was absolutely not overkill, but don't order this if you don't want to taste fennel seed. The prices were predictably expensive. But the food was good and the portion size was satisfying. Definitely not a bad choice for a table service meal at DTW. read more

Looking for a place to eat while on my layover. Saw Cat Cora's and had to stop. I've been a fan for years and remember watching her on Iron Chef. We were seated pretty quick, atmosphere was very welcoming and inviting. Waited some time before our waitress arrived to take drink orders. Waited more for drinks to arrive and to place our order. You can see the pattern here of waiting, if your connection is less than an hour you might need to reconsider. Once the food arrived the presentation was good and the food was hot. I had the burger and fries and both were delicious. Burger was cooked exactly as I asked, it was also smothered in cheese, it was so good. Twice fried fries were good as well.
