We had some time to kill before a Thursday morning flight and were able to access the Lufthansa Lounge in the Evans Terminal thanks to Star Alliance benefits while flying United First Class (They also take Priority Pass) The lounge is on the smaller side and was about half full when we arrived. It's divided into two rooms: one with coffee and alcohol, and the other with a small buffet. The food selection was fairly limited, so I wouldn't plan on having a full meal here. The beverage offerings were better, with self-serve beer, liquor, mixers, and a coffee machine. I enjoyed a few cafe Americanos topped off with Irish cream and Jack Daniel's Not the best lounge but it was clean, comfortable, and a decent place to relax before our flight. read more

Arrived at noon for a 1:40 flight. The cold lunch buffet was wiped out. The cookies were mostly gone. The espresso machine wasn't working. When I asked one of the staff if there were plans to refresh, she said they were in the back working on it. By 1:00 pm the lunch buffet had been replenished, however the cookies were not. Lufthansa Senior Loubge located inside Detroit Airport McNamara terminal. This is my 3rd visit here this year, yes: I travel to Michigan too much, you don't need to tell me. This is a nice work with my Chase Sapphire credit card, it cones with the steep annual fee. While it's a nice place to get away from the Spiritians, it's really not great. I enjoy the free bottled beer, but the food is really not great. They could do a lot to improve that's for certain. New Orleans has a far better lounge experience. This one is about what you'd expect from Detroit, the strive for mediocrity continues. Like I said, the bar side is decent, good beer and I think the have some decent bottled booze if you're into that. The food side is pretty grim however. Take the bags of Rold Gold and run! read more

This is probably one of the worst lounges I've been to. It almost looks empty when I walked in. One side is mostly drinks and beers with minimal beverage options on the fridge. The other side had food and snacks which looks super depressing. I wanted to just grab a banana and go but they only had 3-4 apples available, granola, yogurt, and some unappetizing donuts. On the good side, although I didn't stay long, the seating seems comfortable and they had a bunch of grand repos lounge chairs available and I saw plenty of outlets available. I gained lounge access because of business class international travel. Check-in with the desk was standard/easy. After you check in, you can go right or left. Left is an area mainly for getting an adult beverage and waiting. The right side is mainly for grabbing a snack/food although there were a few beers in the fridge. You can go back and forth between sides, but it is a little awkward that you have to walk past the check in desk to do so. The spaces are pretty small, so I can't imagine spending much time here. Design/aesthetic: 3/5 Nothing wrong with the design but nothing real special about the space either. I would expect more charging ports and restrooms in a lounge. This one only had a few single occupancy stalls that consistently had a line of people waiting. Obviously there are peak times and less busy times. I visited at 8:30am on a Friday and it felt pretty full. Not a big deal but also not what I expected in a lounge that requires access. Friendliness: 2/5 Not much of a greeting or interaction with the check-in desk and the people restocking food didn't leave much of an impression. Food: 1/5 One of the biggest perks of visiting a lounge should be food/drinks. This is where Lufthansa fell short. The breakfast spread was a whole lot of nothing. The bagels are as basic as you can buy and the oatmeal is the basic, heat yourself kind. Most hotel continental breakfasts at a 3 star Holiday Inn are a step above the spread they had here. I grabbed a Yoplait yogurt and ate it with one of their giant spoons that are seriously way too big for the tiny yogurt cups. What is up with that? If you are here, it's because it is the only option. I realize a sub par lounge is definitely a first world problem. To the woman working on 6/21 at 11:30 am, I've never met a person more delighted to tell customers they can't come in because they have an outside drink, which isn't typical for other lounges in other airports. I made eye contact when I came in and said hello. She ignored me to keep talking to her coworker, but the first thing she did say, not "hi!" Or "welcome" but "we do not accept outside food or drinks." By the time I finished my drink, she was delighted to tell me it was now too late to come in. Fun! We found ourselves at the Detroit Airport, which unfortunately did not have a Centurion lounge, but our card did give us perks to visit Lufthansa Lounge during limited hours (definitely confirm those!). It was a great place to wait before our flight. They had a self serve bar area and a good selection of food options, from a salad bar, soups, hot food, cheeses and desserts. We were able to fill up and enjoy a quick bite before our long flight. The food wasn't stand out, but definitely tasty and had good options. We didn't take advantage of the booze, but they seemed to have plenty of options for guests to indulge. The space was divided into two different areas, the left being a more lounge area with comfy chairs, couches and the bar, while the right had the buffet with table seating. It was kind of weird to go from one to another you had to cross through the check in area and line of people checking in. Overall, the visit was good and definitely made our airport visit much more comfortable. read more

Self serve beer, liquor, soda and juice however, numerous people had issues with the coffee machine. Bathrooms: There are only two men's and two women's rest rooms and the one I used looked about as clean as the restroom in the main terminal. Service: In addition to the person at the front desk I only saw two people working, managing the food, servicing the machines and I assume cleaning the bathrooms. I've been to this lounge several times for breakfast and dinner. I would say that the lounge doesn't get overly full-I've never had an issue with seating or overcrowding. I wouldn't come here for the food; it's been mediocre. Breakfast was akin to the breakfast you would get a mid-tier hotel. Sausage patties and egg patties that were heated up, cold peaches with cottage cheese, etc. Dinner is no better with baked pasta and corn, and a nacho bar. It kind of reminds me of hospital food. After a while, they take away the hot food and put out cold wraps/sandwiches. The thing that really got my goat was that the two coffee machines were out of commission. I came here with a month between visits and they were still nonfunctional. What gives? I guess if you enjoy drinks, the serve yourself liquor is a huge plus. read more

If you are visiting with Priority Pass, note the hours and that if you arrive just after they begin allowing entry to Priority Pass members it will be very crowded. Our flight was delayed, however, so we had a lot of time and the lounge did clear out within an hour and become much more peaceful. Very happy to still have a Priority Pass lounge option at DTW! Most often I am flying in and out of McNamara terminal (which does not have a PP lounge), so it's nice to have this as a little treat when flying out of the Warren C Evans Terminal (previously known as North Terminal). I've never had an issue with space or seating here, there is lounge WiFi that's different than the general DTW airport WiFi, and the lounge (including bathrooms) is clean and comfortable. Depending on the time of day, there is varied offerings for food and drink. I think beer, wine, water, coffee, soft drinks are potentially always available, and it's self-serve. Food is usually a mix of cold/snacks and/or hot foods. Today's breakfast had a lot of options, including biscuits, French toast sticks, sausage, scrambled eggs, yogurts, pudding, toast, fruit, bagels, and other snacks. I am overall impressed with this lounge, especially given the context that it's open for domestic flights. (I think comparing to larger international flight only lounges would not be a fair comparison.) read more

I got here around 6:15am, don't expect too much on the food offerings... looks like hot food doesn't come out until 7am. The place is divided into two, left and right - the food was on the right side. I didn't get to explore what they had on the left side - I would assume they had the bar there. Awful lounge. Dirty dishes, litter, and food scraps strewn about everywhere. Staff was around but nobody was cleaning. There was a small selection of stale and unappetizing foods, a very poor beverage selection and the wines were so bad they were undrinkable. Staff was not cleaning the drinks area or replacing empty wine bottles, but they could be heard just talking and chatting in the kitchen. Maybe 3-3.5 out of 5 stars for this lounge. I signed up for the Hilton Surpass credit card ($95 per year) mostly for the Priority Pass benefit: I get 10 Priority Pass visits per year. I used my first one at the Nashville Minute Suites earlier this year (and as an aside: the McNamara aka Delta terminal here now has one of those), and my boyfriend and I have been to the PP lounge in Vegas numerous times. I was curious to try the Lufthansa lounge (free for PP members) this trip since I am headed to Chicago for work. Overall it was... okay. At first I thought there was no food selection, but it turns out if you take a left after coming through the main doors, that's more of a sitting area (and also has a make your own cocktail station, which I've never seen before...) and if you go to the right, that's where the food is. For breakfast, they mostly had cold items and things like bagels, with a toaster available, and for hot items they had sausage and pancakes. I had some sausages, fruit, and what I THOUGHT was a fruit parfait, but was actually peaches atop cottage cheese (ick). Overall this is a quiet place to sit - I wish they had bottled water though, as they had sodas, beer, and some fruit juices. Bathrooms were clean and at 10am on a Monday, the lounge wasn't too busy either. My gate was D21 though and this is located right after gate D9, so it was a bit of a walk (about 10-12 minutes)... I'm not sure I'd do the walk next time but we'll see. read more

I read through the other reviews. And while I could understand some points made, I thought this lounge was great! I thought the seating was great. I had NO wait time to get in here and there were outlets all over the place. Yes walking from the only side with food back to the other side with coffee and a bar was not ideal, but the front desk didn't say anything to us. It was comfortable, quiet, and spacious. I've been to other lounges that are QUITE the opposite. Crowded. Loud. And the food options seem consistent with all of the other lounges I've been to. Maybe I'm just not getting into the right airports. But this one was one of my favorites. I will agree, the woman at the front wasn't the nicest person. But considering how nice everyone in Detroit was during my weekend, I'm in a good mood and still giving this lounge 5 stars versus my contemplated 4 stars. This lounge is sad. The ambiance is 2010 Ikea. The access restrictions are because the Lufthansa guests get a bit more selection on the hot bar. When it opens for Priority Pass, the substantial proteins (chicken, meatballs, shrimp) disappear to be replaced with pasta in red or white sauce (with no protein). Unlimited alcohol. but the wines get thin and when bottles empty, they are not refreshed. To call the staff cold and rude would be an insult to cold, rude people. They are unsmiling, unfriendly and clearly have no interest in Priority Pass guests. They are precise with the timing of admission of Priority Pass guests to the second. This is no longer the case. The food is very good, with hot and cold options. There is both an open wine bar and liquor bar along with cold beer and sodas as well. Worst airport lounge I've been in. I arrived around 10:45 and the "breakfast" was so depressing I asked when lunch would be put out and was told 11 so figured I'd wait. Around 11:05 there were crudités and salad and I assumed they were probably just delayed but by 11:25 that was still it. I asked someone when the real food would be put out and she said 1:30. I paid for lounge access for the food and there's no food. I then asked if I could leave and re-enter (to get food). Nope! Anyway if I had to participate in a contest of "easiest ways to lose $40" this would be a viable option bc I spent $40 on some celery and hummus. Just in case things weren't bad enough there's also only one toilet lol. This is a terrible lounge. read more

My low rated review is based on lack of food options. No fruit, only pretzels and packaged muffins. Coffee, tea, plastic water bottles, canned soda, Labatts in the bottle and three self serve wines. No water foundation for filling your own bottles. There is one, but it's non working. Yummy organic tea you have to ask for. Local honey. No take away cups though. Dairy yogurts in the fridge. Do not come here if you ate vegan. There is nothing. Bagged pretzels I suppose. Would love to see oranges, bananas, healthier choices that are free from animal products. I wish I read the reviews before making the trek over here. DTW is my connecting airport and both my arrival and departure flights at at McNamara terminal. I had a LOT of time to kill in between so I decided to make my way to North terminal to enjoy the only Priority Pass lounge in this airport. If you're thinking of doing the same, DON'T. It is not worth it. It took me 45min to get from McNamara to North terminal. I had to exit security, walk all the way to the parking garage, wait for a bus that connects the airports, ride a 10min bus ride, go through North terminal security, AND walk alllll the way down the length of North terminal since this lounge is located near the end (gate D8). So much walking and effort for...a nice place to sit? I came at 6AM and there was basically no food. A few wrapped sweet pastries (the kind you can get in bulk from a wholesale store) and a coffee machine. A few yogurts in the mostly empty fridge. The space was also quite small. Not that many lounging areas, just a dining area with tables and chairs. read more

This was an interesting visit, for sure! I made the trek over from the Delta terminal because I had a few hours to kill at the Detroit airport. The bus ride between terminals was relatively easy, but if you do this terminal-hopping, make sure you build in some time to for the whole process. The lounge itself was probably one of the least distinctive & poorly run that I have ever seen in the priority pass portfolio. The food consisted of nothing warm but some unseasoned pasta and some canned mixed vegetables. The staff on hand clearly did not like their jobs, and made it a point to let you know about their unhappiness. Presumably the lounge offers better food when the Lufthansa guests are in there, but for priority pass guests the offerings were more than a bit embarrassing. However, I did enjoy a nice (self-made) cocktail and had fun people watching. Would I ever go there again? Maybe, if I had 4 or more hours to kill at the airport. read more

For an airport lounge, I'd say it's pretty moderate. My husband and I visited via Priority Pass an hour and a half before our flight. The lounge is quiet and is great for work, but there is no lounge-specific wifi available. The airport, however, does have wifi that you can use. The biggest surprise was the bar situation. There is no formal bar or bartender, just a fridge with pop, water and 1 beer and self-serve wine bottles (Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon). The food was impressive compared to other bars we went to. We visited around 12 pm and there were 3 different sandwiches (1 vegetarian), hummus and veggies, cheese and grapes, pasta salad, and chips. As a vegan, I was pleasantly surprised with the various food options that I had! I wouldn't go out of my way to visit the lounge, but if you get to the airport too early or have a layover, it's worth a visit! read more

I was honestly not too thrilled with my time at the club. Even though I had my platinum rewards card, I still needed to use my priority express pass. I had mine with me, luckily. Most of my family members did not, seeing as none of the other clubs that we sat in expected this from us. We weren't even allowed plus ones and we had to pay a lot of money for a guest. They couldn't look up our numbers on their system which meant we had to pay for people who were members. When we got inside the food choices were unimpressive. The coffee maker was broken, I couldn't connect to the wifi, and there were screaming kids. It was insane and not in a good way. I'm glad that this isn't our primary location, and I'm glad that we'll only come here once in a blue moon when we visit our relatives. read more

Just about everything here is serve-yourself. You can have as much beer, soda, wine, chips, cookies, half-sandwiches, and cheese as you want but that's about it. Was pretty disappointed to not see any sort of warm food option around lunch time. Not even a soup! I understand the limited items with COVID, but the options here are REALLY limited. 3.5 stars. This was my first experience at this particular lounge, and I liked it better than some that I had been to in the past. We were there in December 2021 during the height of omicron, so masking and precautions were still in place, but they still had some great options. The layout has a comfy seating area to one side, and an area with tables to the other. You can go to both, and there was a self-serve area on both sides with beverages and snacks. I found a little more variety on the side with tables. I wanted something light before my flight and got some sparkling water and a variety of snacks. The wrap and most of the produce was just ok, but the caprese salad was excellent! I had a couple of those. There was a great selection of hot tea, and I grabbed a cup. Of course if you want a soft drink - or even something harder like wine or beer - it's available as well. Overall I enjoyed getting to unwind and refresh here before my flight. read more

Overall the selection of drinks are good , from beer and wine to sodas as well as the requisite espresso machine. The food selection is minimal due to COVID no doubt, but compared to other lounges it is still sparse. However, it's the only lounge in North terminal that I can tell, and they also accept priority pass. So it's ok, the hours are good, but don't expect a lot of offerings per se. read more
