Gosh I can't rave about this place enough! These are my sets while I was living here. I wish I had found them sooner! My dip nails last forever! They never peel or break off except 1 time and it was my own fault! Traci and LiLi are absolute angels and amazing nail artists! Every time I came in they were so kind, welcoming, and always paid great attention to my nails! I always used to feel insecure about my hands but these two ladies helped me grow confidence in showing them off! They take walk-ins and depending on how busy they are you get seen pretty quickly! There are only about 3-4 ladies working the salon and Traci's son is almost always there to help too, he's very sweet as well! I will miss coming here, they truly deserve the praise! read more

Walked in for a gel pedicure and it was such a relaxing experience. They have such a great OPI gel selection. Hannah did amazing!!

Came in for an acrylic fill on a weekday afternoon. Only two employees working, one explained that her appointment didn't show so she could take me. As soon as she started, the appointment arrived. Tech told her to return in thirty minutes. She layered the acrylic on quite thick. It looked like a turtle shell shape. I asked her to thin and shape it and she replied, "Next time tell the person that you want it thin at the beginning." That is not something one should have to request. It is part of getting acrylic nails. She begins filing it and shaping it and I realize she didn't do it correctly because she is rushing. For polish, I asked for French with a vee shape. Then, the appointment person came back in and the tech started rushing more. She did every nail on the first hand so crooked it looked asymmetrical. I pointed it out and she took it off and started again. Then the white polish was streaky with some areas not painted at all. Asked her to fix it. Then the edges weren't painted at all. She took a brush and painted the edges quickly, getting polish on my fingers. At that point I was just ready to go because clearly she was in a rush. It was not worth the cost and as a paying customer I've never had to ask a nail tech to do the job properly. View the photos and judge for yourself. I am NOT going back. read more

My nails look absolutely terrible and I was completely obercharged for such a terrible service. $95?! I got acryl French tips. She made me nails uneven, left nail polish all over my skin, kept cutting and filing down my skin, the French tip lines are so uneven, and her hair got geled into my nail! She doesn't understand "trust the process" charged me $300 for something that have should have taken multiple sessions instead of rushing it & ruining my hair! Hell to the no I did not tip. After going through a couple of hair stylist that always did a great job the first time and disappointments the following visits, I came here to Eden and I absolutely love her spirit and excitement when it comes to hair!! The salon itself has an amazing staff that greets you with smiles, coffee and donut the second you enter and the waiting area is so comfy and cozy. Eden takes her time with me and it's a great time to chat up and gossip! She also did my updo for my Orpheus ball and I love the way her hands work. Jimmy hasn't done my hair however I have met him a couple times in there and he is an absolute delight-- A very charming and wonderful personality! This place is pretty awesome. I just had my nails, feet, and eyebrows done by Kim. She did a great job on everything. The pedicure was my favorite and oh so very relaxing! My eyebrows look great which I am super happy with because many salons before have messed them up! We just moved here and I'm happy to say I've found my new spot to get pampered. This salon is by far the WORST I have ever visited. My friends and I scheduled a group session for 1:00 PM. We arrived on time but it took the staff half an hour to seat us (no, the salon was not full, so there was no excuse). The pedicure area was not sanitary with damaged chairs and unprotected bowls used to soak your feet. Actually one of my friends got dosed in water because one of the pedicure bowls didn't have a spout. It also took a considerable amount of time for them to start my pedicure after my feet began to soak. Now at this point two of my friends cancelled their services because of how frustrated they were, but I decided to continue my full service (full set manicure and pedicure). Twice I showed them the type of nail I wanted, but my technician completely botched it. Not only do my nails look NOTHING like the reference I provided, but just as a regular manicure my nails look awful! They're too thick, uneven, crooked, and the color looks terrible! I managed to get $10 off my purchase, but I will never go back there again. I'm going to a different salon to get this removed from my hands because I'm embarrassed to walk around with my fingers looking like garbage. read more

It's your run of the mill nail shop. The atmosphere was very impersonal and my manicure wasn't the best. My nail technician, Van, was very rough when buffing and drilling my nails. I was wincing in pain. The acrylic was lifting from the cuticle and the polish was chipping/fading within a week's time. They looked horrible. I've had my nails done plenty of times at other nail spas and this has never happened before. Very poor job. Although I live right down the street from this salon, I'd rather make the drive to Harvey or the Eastbank to get a proper acrylic set. read more

Jimmy handed me me whole life back!!!! I got extra brave and used a box color (NEVA DO DAT). My hair turned orange y'all!!! ORANGE! By the grace of God this salon was open on a Monday. Yes a Monday. I got an appointment within 2 hours. I wrapped my head in a scarf and proceeded to my walk of Shane . After a short time in Jimmy's chair I got my life back!! I just experienced the best pedicure ever at Tranquil! I had the Tranquil pedi by Alexis...you pay a little bit more but it is totally worth it! My feet are enclosed in four inch heels all day plus it takes a beating from running three miles each day. After my pedi, they are brand new again and softer than a babies butt! read more

Today I spent 4 hrs at this salon being pampered. My friend and I got the tranquil pedi which left our feet so soft. There was lots of exfoliation followed by warm towels and a foot mask. After which I got my hair colored and cut by Jimmy. He pays so much attention to detail and listened to what I had to say about my hair condition and what look I was trying to achieve. Lastly, I had a wax which was done fast but meticulously. The only way it should be done! My friend had the massage and was very relaxed afterwards. I'm Very impressed with this place and plan on making the drive from uptown new orleans to come to this full service spa. Next time I'm going to try a facial and massage. read more

The consultation is the most important part of any hair service. If your stylist doesn't act like they've got the time to listen to what you want...walk away! I have been to too many salons lately where the stylist does the consultation on the way to the shampoo bowl! I HATE this! I was so impressed with my experience at Tranquil! I got what I wanted because my stylist, Amy took the time to do a proper consultation. IN THE CHAIR, at her station!!! This was my first hair service at Tranquil and I could kick myself for not coming here(for hair) sooner. Honestly, I have had a far better experience with acrylic nails elsewhere. They do have bare minimum talent with nails just don't ask for any designs. Also, the nail techs seemed to be oblivious to nails shapes as when I asked for an almond shaped nail I ended up with a ballerina nail. It's still cute but definitely not what I wanted. My nails also have dents everywhere and the cuticles are very messy with dried nail polish caught under my nails. A couple of nails were crooked, some of the shaping is uneven but definetely not something I would want to be wearing for the next two weeks. read more
