They also communicate proactively and helpfully with us parents - via daily paper reports, email, and in-person. Even the teachers from the other classes all know my kid's name, and give her a warm smile at dropoff/pickup. There are lots of activities, everything from field trips to "crazy socks day" "bike day" etc. - plus optional weekly "enrichment" classes from third parties, like music and sports. They also make an effort to build community with things like a teacher costume contest and pumpkin carving contest for Halloween. My kiddo is an outgoing, helpful and happy kid but he is clearly not happy at the school. We are now dealing with withdrawal. We were told by the principal that they got our notice in Dec and someone will follow up soon. However their finance has no clue until we reach out today, And demand we pay for another month of tuition. There's gonna be another battle. They'll make it more costly than it should be to withdraw.

I've been through almost every age and classroom here, so I feel like I'm allowed to give this long overdue review (: Let me answer some questions for those wondering: - Why is it so expensive? - it's actually about the same for any other center-based care around here. We live in the most expensive place on earth, so that's not really a center problem (trust me I got quotes from a lot of places). But what's great is that you're paying for year-round training for all teachers, and peace of mind that your child is safe and cared for by trained professionals. They literally check on your sleeping baby every 15 mins and have to put it in a log. That's priceless. Also, this center barely closes. You get to work full time and not have to worry about paying extra for camps or other types of care. You get constant updates on an app too. - I had backup care issues - The backup care system they use is sometimes out of their control. They're not the ones deciding who gets placed/not placed here for backup care (I was nosey and asked). Also, because your kid is here temporarily, they might be slow to warm up, and may cry. That's super normal and not the center's fault. Let's not freak out if a cubby isn't labeled perfectly or if your child has a booger nose in a photo....not a big deal. - I see a lot of teacher turnover - That's unfortunately very common in this field. But, Bright Horizons provides truly amazing benefits and pays for school for these teachers, keeping them around longer. If you want to lobby for higher salaries for teachers, I suggest you take it up with the state or get involved politically somehow. - Any other question or complaint - This is group care, your kid will be with other kids. If you want 1:1 attention, you need to get a nanny (and pay double). These teachers are truly amazing, they will care deeply for your child. Also, this center has super high standards. Highly suggest looking into what NAEYC accreditation means. They have some of the lowest teacher/child ratios to make sure their attention isn't spread thin. If I could keep both my kids here until they're 15, I would. I am genuinely so thankful for everyone at this center. 5000 stars!

The Assistant Directors and Directors were always in the Lobby to answer questions and interact with families. Ms. Michelle's Kindergarten program is legendary and of the highest standards. She goes above and beyond to nurture, educate, and prepare her students for Kindergarten/1st Grade. I have never seen a teacher give so much of herself to her students and love every minute of it. Both of my children had the privilege of being in her classroom and they were transformed under her guidance. We will forever be grateful to her and will consider her part of our extended family. Outside of the classroom, KinderCare Sunnyvale also provides a wide range of additional experiences to help children grow. Experiences like Learning Adventures (phonics, cooking, etc), Amazing Athletes (sports program), guest presenters (petting zoos, reptile shows, train rides, music performers, etc) and events (Summer Kick Off party, graduations, Mother's Day & Father's Day activities, etc). With many of these experiences, families also get to participate alongside their children. The KinderCare Sunnyvale facilities is in well maintained, inviting, and secure.
