Pizza is really good. The best in the city. I think they need more employees though. Wait times can drag.

Food is amazing. I love the pizza. But also the house salad, the Ziggy bread and the fire bites.

I was anxious to get on the road ahead of the blizzard but here we are. From the first moment when we were greeted by regulars and I raised eyebrows by asking for a glass for my PBR, I knew I was among friends. Regulars had all brought in food and we were warmly invited to partake. Everything from home baked cookies to Arby's! And a world class collection of sports memorabilia. Really world class. I wish this was in my hood. But I was told it is often this way during games, so I will be bringing my new friend, who does live nearby. I totally forgot I needed to get on the road and enjoyed myself. And if you know me, you know how unique that is. So if you can, visit here ASAP. And you can thank me later.

Guess he felt it was safe to use a slur in a family owned place. Bit it even made feel uncomfortable when he said it and it wasn't addressed for one and for two considering that's part of the surrounding community. Come on let's do better bc your regulars heard it as well and it made me lose respect bc it wasn't addressed at the time by Betty or Chad who were standing there when it was said,

Sundy's exemplifies such a dive bar and is located in Finneytown, about 10 miles north of downtown. It is a small, family-owned establishment, so don't be surprised if--after only 2 or 3 visits--the bartenders and frequenters remember your face. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, and the drink prices are probably too reasonable (but don't tell them I said that!). There are daily drink specials that will satisfy even the hardest of drinkers. Sundy's is "The Home of the Stormcloud" but I always recommend the Nada Bomb: originated on the West side, it is a shot comprised of cherry vodka, orange juice, red bull and a splash of cran. These shots run $5 per, so I always suggest simply buying a pitcher for the unbeatable price of $20 (the pitcher equals about 10 shots, so it's a really great deal, especially to buy for a round). Feel free to come visit to sit back and enjoy Trivia Night on Thursdays (www.lastcalltrivia.com), watch your favorite team(s) on any of its multiple flat screens, or just to hang out with friends. Though, don't plan on coming in on Sundays, as that is the only day the bar is closed during the week.

As in "We need to go to Audrey's, we're running out of feta," the plastic vat of brine-bathing cheese dangerously light. Or "Where's Baba [Dad]?" "He went to Audrey's for olives and glika [sweets]." (The man's lifeblood). The store also used to carry VHS tapes from Greece and cassettes for purchase and rental, as well as icons and church incense. Upon my return to Finneytown for the first time since I was a teenager, my husband and I stopped by Audrey's (no longer technically Audrey's, the store's switched owners twice since the nineties; it is now owned by another member of the significant Greek community in the area). The store hasn't changed in size--it is not big at all--and not much in appearance either, although it is clean-looking and smelling and a little less cluttered than I remember. Its selection, while certainly not enormous, is delightfully varied for its smallness. Beyond feta and olives, the store also carries: *a wide range of different jams (we nabbed an intriguing fig and sesame jam to take home) *candied fruits and nuts, from rose petals to pistachios to eggplant--yes, candied eggplant--to quince to figs to lemons to walnuts. As my grandpa says, Greeks will candy anything, including goat poops, if they were to be so inclined. *halvas (different brands and different flavors: pistachio, cocoa-swirled, almond) *a couple of cases of imported juices in flavors like tart cherry and apricot *pantry staples including dried and canned beans, tahini, a number of shapes and sizes of macaronis, trahana made with both sweet and sour milk, olive oils, and vinegars *imported cookies and crackers (sweet and savory) and pasteli/sesame candies from Greece and throughout the Middle East *prepared foods, including Lenten faves, like spanakorizo The fun items and friendly service made my return, over a decade later, memorable and sweet. Stop in for pantry staples, and pick up some unique prepackaged imported goods to try while you're in.
