The food is amazing - we had the Caesar salad and meatball appetizers and the Tavern Classic pizza. All delicious. Although I would say that while the Caesar salad is rightfully delicious, it's not a classic Caesar flavor profile. I want to go back and explore other intriguing menu items! Stopped in here earlier on a Friday evening just ahead of their rush(with lots of people waiting what looked like awhile for a table). We've been meaning to get here as all of our friends have raved about it. It's nestled all the way down the adorable business-filled Sixth Street in Dayton, KY. We struggled to find the parking lot that was mentioned and just took an easy spot on the street. I recommend getting a salad, drinks, and/or starters as the pizza takes awhile to come out, but is so worth it. We made the mistake of not ordering enough at the beginning and had to wait extra long when we opted to order a second one mid-meal. Don't be like us, order lots of pizza to start. I was in the area so I stopped in to get two pizzas for carryout to take home to West Chester. These pizza's are our kind of pizza! Thin crust with a crusty cheesy edge, great sauce (red more moist than the white) and plenty of toppings to pick your favorite combo. I especially loved the Peppadew peppers. At $23 for a 12" pizza, they were a bit pricey. The service was very friendly. I wish we had a place with pizza like this nearer to us. read more

we went here after seeing it on Chowdown Cincinnati, and we're so excited to try it out There was a 45 minute wait to sit inside, but outside was available, so we decide to sit outside and were completely fine with that because it felt great out. our server was amazing, and he was great and super friendly while the girl that delivered drinks seemed to be very annoyed with our presence. I really loved the focaccia bread and the Caesar salad. I thought they were absolutely delicious. And would 100% go back. Just to eat that. As for the pizza, I was not impressed, and it had a hot honey sauce on it. That was good, but it seems to be completely covered in it, in a negative way. The hubs and I have been on the hunt for the best pizza, and this was a recommendation. Very interesting pizza combinations! They were unfortunately out of foccacia bread when we got there, but the manager told us about the secret garlic Flatbread option and we were sold. We also got the meatballs. Went to Wayfarer for Valentine's dinner and had an excellent time! It's so great to see new spots popping up in Dayton. My favorite part of the meal was genuinely the cocktails. They were perfect. The meatballs and pizza were delicious. I like how the pizza is cut into smaller squares. Overall it was very delicious, but it was a bit pricey for pizza. Finally tried out the much anticipated pickle pizza at wayfarer. While the food and drinks were tasty it's definitely overpriced. Also our pizza orders were accidentally served to the table next to us so while we watched them eat our 2 pizzas and their 2 pizzas we waited over 45 mins for ours. The staff comped focaccia, another round of drinks and our $8 peppadew appetizer which was nice of them. Kinda wish they took care of at least one of our pizzas. We unfortunately didn't have the best first experience :( read more

From the food to the drinks to the atmosphere and service, Wayfarer is just killing it. We have been there a few times and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. Friendly staff, tasty food, and good drinks. Can't ask for much more! Highlights so far include the pickle pizza and Korean corn bbq pizza, but the caesar salad and stuffed peppadew peppers are a must have as well. The cocktail menu is well thought out and has options for everyone. The strawberry puree cocktail (I forget the name but we subbed out vodka for the gin) is just the perfect summer drink. Tavern Style pizza in Ohio is hard to come by ever since I moved from Chicago and this one is the best I've found. For just being open a few months their pizzas hit the spot everytime. The pepperoni on this pizza is filled with cup-char pepperoni! The only thing I noticed was the service was quite slow and hope this will improve the longer they are open. We shared marinated olives, chips and horseradish onion dip, and the Devil's Backbone Pizza with red sauce. The olives were amazing! We went in on Sunday at 2:00 in the afternoon. There was one table already there and we were the second. We ordered 4 pizzas and drinks. It took right at an hour to get the pizzas, and one of them was the wrong pizza. They did remake it, and it only took half an hour. If you want an interesting twist on pizza they have it and they are pretty good. Just be ready to wait and they are pricy. For a family dinner, we ordered three different 12" pizzas -- the Korean Corn Cheese (Confit Garlic Cream White Sauce, 3 Cheese Blend Corn, Sweet & Spicy Pickled Jalapeño, Gochujang BBQ Sauce, Green Onion After Bake), the Pickle Power (Confit Garlic Cream, White Sauce, Pickles, Onion, 3 Cheese Blend Fresh Dill, Chive, House-Made Ranch, & Ridged Potato Chips After Bake) and the May Staff Choice (Crispy Cup-and-Char Pepperoni, Bacon, Sweet & Spicy Pickled Jalapeño, House-Made Hot Honey, Red Sauce, 5 Cheese Blend). All were really good but the Korean Corn Cheese was my favorite with all the ingredients blending to create something really special and different. I was going to have the El Capitan Margarita when our great server let me know about an off the menu special margarita made with ginger. It was wonderful. The only reason I am not giving Wayfarer a top rating is the level of noise in the restaurant. Between the wood floors and high ceilings, there is nothing to soften the sound of happy conversations. The star of the show was the caesar salad. The crisp lettuce, toasted breadcrumbs, anchovy pieces and flavorful dressing went perfectly together. The tavern style veggie pizza was very unique with the lemon and ricotta with a great cook on the pie. The cheese was cooked well and was solid, but the flavor was nothing special.
