Wayfarer tavern is receiving a ton of love right now. I'm happy to report that it is all well deserved. We ordered three pizzas for five people and had leftovers to take home. Our favorite was the Korean corn cheese. Who knew that gochujang was the perfect pizza topping. The spicy, pungent sauce cut through the cheesy pizza in a way that is so craveable. We also had the meatwad, which the carnivores among us really enjoyed and the potato truffle rosemary. The potato pizza was more subtle that I would have expected, but in a good way. It was like having a bread course in addition to the pizzas. Great service and suggestions from our server. Also, our reservation changed from 3 to 5 people the day before we were to dine- the hostess went out of her way to accommodate us. The dining room is super loud, so save your intimate conversations or ask for a table outside. read more

Ok, I started with a wine from the Piedmont that was crisp and perfectly chilled while my husband had a Dayton Handshake that included a Miller Highlife and a well bourbon shot (other shots available if you are not a bourbon fan). It was busy for a Wednesday so our salad was slow in coming, but we really enjoyed the watermelon, tomato, feta when it arrived. It was so fresh! I'm vegetarian and my husband is flexitarian, but none of the veggie specialty pizzas grabbed him, so we went our separate ways. He got the Tavern Classic and I went for the Al limone Rapini. Our server, who was attentive and professional even though he was in his first week, told me the Calabria peppers were spicy, so I had them on the side. Next time, I'd have them on the pizza- the balance is perfect! All in all, we really enjoyed our evening and look forward to returning, although we'll probably share a create-your-own next time. Excellent service, I think her name was Beth. Really helpful, kind, attentive, quick, checked all the boxes. We got a cheese and a make your own with mushrooms and artichokes hearts. The pizza wasn't our kids favorite but my wife enjoyed it. We also got a large salad which was good, especially with the banana peppers. And a special sourdough pretzel because it was Oktoberfest. We sat outside and our server was very attentive even though they have to go out the front door to get there. Only two beers on tap, but others in cans/bottles. Lots of wine options. Stopped in here earlier on a Friday evening just ahead of their rush(with lots of people waiting what looked like awhile for a table). We've been meaning to get here as all of our friends have raved about it. It's nestled all the way down the adorable business-filled Sixth Street in Dayton, KY. We struggled to find the parking lot that was mentioned and just took an easy spot on the street. I recommend getting a salad, drinks, and/or starters as the pizza takes awhile to come out, but is so worth it. We made the mistake of not ordering enough at the beginning and had to wait extra long when we opted to order a second one mid-meal. Don't be like us, order lots of pizza to start. We found one of our appetizers and our pizza to be very salty and our son's pizza was a little salty. Drinks were good and service was excellent . For the price of the pizzas in particular paired with the saltiness, we would not come back for food, maybe for a drink as we like the location. I'd give it 3.5 if I knew how. read more

The food is amazing - we had the Caesar salad and meatball appetizers and the Tavern Classic pizza. All delicious. I was in the area so I stopped in to get two pizzas for carryout to take home to West Chester. These pizza's are our kind of pizza! Thin crust with a crusty cheesy edge, great sauce (red more moist than the white) and plenty of toppings to pick your favorite combo. I especially loved the Peppadew peppers. At $23 for a 12" pizza, they were a bit pricey. The service was very friendly. I wish we had a place with pizza like this nearer to us. read more

The hubs and I have been on the hunt for the best pizza, and this was a recommendation. Very interesting pizza combinations! They were unfortunately out of foccacia bread when we got there, but the manager told us about the secret garlic Flatbread option and we were sold. We also got the meatballs. We took foodie relatives who were in town from LA last week, and they were floored. We got 6 different pizzas - all amazing and all delicious. We went back last night and had more of an appetizer feast. we went here after seeing it on Chowdown Cincinnati, and we're so excited to try it out There was a 45 minute wait to sit inside, but outside was available, so we decide to sit outside and were completely fine with that because it felt great out. our server was amazing, and he was great and super friendly while the girl that delivered drinks seemed to be very annoyed with our presence. I really loved the focaccia bread and the Caesar salad. I thought they were absolutely delicious. And would 100% go back. Just to eat that. As for the pizza, I was not impressed, and it had a hot honey sauce on it. That was good, but it seems to be completely covered in it, in a negative way. Finally tried out the much anticipated pickle pizza at wayfarer. While the food and drinks were tasty it's definitely overpriced. Also our pizza orders were accidentally served to the table next to us so while we watched them eat our 2 pizzas and their 2 pizzas we waited over 45 mins for ours. The staff comped focaccia, another round of drinks and our $8 peppadew appetizer which was nice of them. Kinda wish they took care of at least one of our pizzas. We checked this restaurant out recently due to the high rankings for the best pizza in Cincinnati area. We came on a weeknight and were seated quickly. The ambience inside is very cute, a little retro but also very loud. My partner and I were basically yelling at each other across a very small table. I did throughly enjoy the pizza (even if it was a little pricey). We didn't really enjoy the appetizer meatballs, but they were well-made and very flavorful and I could see how others would like them. Unfortunately, our service was very bad. Our appetizer was not rang in correctly and ended up coming out after our pizza, which at that point I'd rather it just be returned/taken off the check. Our server didn't check in on us once during the entire dining experience. We sat with empty water glasses for our entire meal. It seemed like they were understaffed, our server was apologetic when we flagged her down at the end of the meal to get a check and a box. I think it's worth checking out again, but maybe next time we'll do take out. read more

From the food to the drinks to the atmosphere and service, Wayfarer is just killing it. We have been there a few times and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. Friendly staff, tasty food, and good drinks. Can't ask for much more! Highlights so far include the pickle pizza and Korean corn bbq pizza, but the caesar salad and stuffed peppadew peppers are a must have as well. The cocktail menu is well thought out and has options for everyone. The strawberry puree cocktail (I forget the name but we subbed out vodka for the gin) is just the perfect summer drink. Tavern Style pizza in Ohio is hard to come by ever since I moved from Chicago and this one is the best I've found. For just being open a few months their pizzas hit the spot everytime. The pepperoni on this pizza is filled with cup-char pepperoni! The only thing I noticed was the service was quite slow and hope this will improve the longer they are open. We shared marinated olives, chips and horseradish onion dip, and the Devil's Backbone Pizza with red sauce. The olives were amazing! We went in on Sunday at 2:00 in the afternoon. There was one table already there and we were the second. We ordered 4 pizzas and drinks. It took right at an hour to get the pizzas, and one of them was the wrong pizza. They did remake it, and it only took half an hour. If you want an interesting twist on pizza they have it and they are pretty good. Just be ready to wait and they are pricy.
