I really enjoy this place. I have been here a few times and keep coming back. If it was on the west side, I'd be here more often. The staff is always friendly and appear to be happy to see us (that's a good thing). I like when restaurants make you feel welcomed and not like you're bothering them. The food was great! I actually, do I dare say, think this is one of the better restaurants in Vancouver. I've been to other Tapatia's but they don't hold up to Catedral. I also enjoy the ambiance of the location. We are out of state visiting my parents and they wanted Mexican food and suggested this place as it had been a long while since they ate there. They remodeled an old church and cool set up. We went during a Non busy time so we were seated immediately (plenty of seating available including booths which we asked for). There were only a couple people there when we went. We were able to place orders rather quickly and food came with in 12 minutes of ordering except mine. I had gotten the most easy basic thing and mine took an additional 10 minutes after theirs arrived which is uncalled for in my opinion. They were able to eat as I sat there and waited for my food to come out and we thought they just forgot about us. When the food arrived I took some photos. One person got cheese enchiladas. She said it was ok but she would NOT order it again. One person got enchiladas supreme and he said it was not bad but would most likely try something else next time. My man got Tres Amigos and said it was good. He would eat it again but would most likely order something else next time. As for mine, the most basic Al Carte menu item (soft taco with only beef and cheese and sour cream). I was not impressed and the fact it took so long to make such an easy item you would think these tacos would have been amazing. It was basically Taco Bell tacos. Would not order again. If you like Mexican food, go ahead and give this place a shot but we were not impressed. If we ever did go back, we would get something different than what we ordered. Service was ok. read more

Meh... the food is just meh. I ordered the combo 3. taco, tamale and enchilada with shredded beef. Taco was soggy, enchilada and tamale were almost flavorless. Rice and refried beans were ok. Price was standard but the food was less than standard. Salsa was the most flavorful thing. Chips seemed stale. Service was decent. It was mothers day meal and my son ordered the shrimp with bacon around it. The shrimp dish looked great until the first bite and my son found the shrimp were not devained ! My dad was a chef and trained for this kind of thing. To see it not properly prepared caused us all to question our food prep. I'm surprised that this place isn't rated better. We have been here twice now and the food is quite good. This place is huge and I can imagine renting it out for special events and parties! We had both of our favorites, carne asada and carnitas with rice and beans. The portions were fair for the price about $18-$20 a plate. I've been coming here since they opened, and the food and service have always been really good.

We were hungry for dinner and happened to spot a Mexican restaurant, we walked right in. It was beautifully decorated and I took many pictures. For dinner, DH ordered his usual for a Mexican Restaurant - Chile Relleno. I ordered a fajitas quesadilla. Despite it being the dinner hour, our orders arrived very quickly. We both enjoyed our meals very much. However, there was too much for me to eat, so we boxed up the leftovers to take home. I looked forward to eating more the next day. Too late, we realized that we had left our takeouts at the restaurant. We called, but they had already been thrown out. The busboy, would have come after us, it's possible we're in the lobby still, or using the restroom, or in the parking lot! It took us 15 mins. to get home, and that's when we found out. I mean, we would have gone right back, even if it took us 15 more minutes, if they've only kept it in the fridge, and waited until that person called like 1hr. or something! (When times like this, when things are tough, and people are dying from COVID, etc., and people are unemployed, and so many homeless people out there, they could at least waited, then throw them away, but food that was paid for . . .? That was not fair to just throw them away! If I was the owner or manager, I would compensate the customer, so they will have a good reputation, and a reason to bring their friends for another chance! I've been wanting to try this, a little apprehensive from older reviews and happy to say we had a very good experience. I split a combo with the wife, two chimis. We thought they were pretty good, both shredded beef. My son went for the mole enchiladas, they weren't bad however he didn't rate them as being all that memorable. The Cadillac and regular margaritas were well made, no complaints. Service was good, we were seated right away and the order was taken and food brought quickly. We will be going back. read more

I ordered the quesadilla fajitas and instead got the insides of their vegetarian burrito with no tortilla or cheese. Why are there carrots, broccoli and mushrooms in a burrito just because there is no meat? I don't like meat but that doesn't mean I want the produce section of the grocery store in my burritos. I came to this restaurant with some coworkers on our lunch. We were just looking around the area for somewhere to eat and we passed this Mexican restaurant and decided to try it. I'm Mexican and was a bit skeptical to try this place. You don't come across a lot of good Mexican restaurants in oregon. However when I got my enchiladas they were SO delicious! My coworker got the carnitas and he seemed to really like them as well. I think this place deserves more then a 3 star. The service was not very good. We were not greeted and the waiter did not check on us at all. He actually sat at one of the tables and gossiped in Spanish and cussed the whole time I guess he forgot there were Spanish speaking customers. The food was very bland and it seemed like it was taken out of the freezer and heated in a microwave. Meh... that was my entire experience. I was in a party of three last night for supper. We got to CT around 6:30. We were greeted and seated promptly, and the ubiquitous chips and salsa came right out while we looked over the menu. My friends ordered a single taco combo, and a chimichanga combo. I ordered Pollo Diablo from the "House Special menu". I can't attest to the taco and chimichanga, except to say that my friends said there was nothing special enough about them to write to theirs abuelitas about. My pollo Diablo however was very, very weird. The sauce was a very sweet, vinegary based sauce. It actually tasted as though the base for the entire thing was ketchup. Like they take a bottle of ketchup, add vinegar, cayenne, maybe some garlic powder to round out the flavor-profile, and call it a sauce. Needless to say, I won't be ordering this dish again, and considering the rest of the meal was simply lackluster at best, I won't be returning. This would be a 5 star spot by Vancouver standards, but we had great Mexican spots in CA and we haven't found close to that up here yet. Tried this place for the first time yesterday. The food was delicious. Food came out fast and hot. The workers are amazing and hilarious. The building and murals and wood work on the furniture was incredible. My family finally found a great sit down restaurant for our Mexican food needs when I don't feel like cooking. Our old favorite Mexican restaurant closed down shortly after the pandemic and have been searching since. Will definitely be back. Bad service and food was flavorless. My fajita meat had multiple arteries and was chewy and gross. I paid $26 dollars for something that tasted bad and was a terrible value:( there was also a weird and gross smell as you walked in that smelled like a dirty sponge. I love this place. My Mexican girlfriend from childhood and her Mexican husband loved it too! I've never had a meal disappoint me there. Love the Chile verde. Chimichanga is great. Tacos, taquitos, quesadillas and enchiladas-all great! Fajitas are yummy too. They have some of the better refried beans around here. I've never had a negative experience with service either. I've always loved the decorating in the restaurant. The carved chairs are awesome. I can't wait to try outside on the patio here soon. I'll be honest too, their pricing has been acceptable too. I had to request chips and salsa as it did not come with my meal. I picked it up on my way home from work. When I got the food home it was cold. The chips were stale and tasted like they had no salt.
