Service was amazing! Friendly staff. Serve up fresh chips, salsa & refried beans. They had local beer from exit 16 that was good. Macho Burrito was huge! Boyfriend loved the beef and red sauce. The chili verde burrito was delish and cooked perfectly with cubed pork- not shredded- just like it's suppose to be. So good!!! Liked the ground beef tostada with cheese and fresh green lettuce -not icky iceberg- and tomatoes. Just need to remember to ask for it on its own plate if you do a combo so it won't get soggy if you're a slow eater like me. read more

I'm new to the neighborhood and decided to do the lazy thing and order for delivery. No judgment. Anyway it's another great way to test the service of the restaurant. Online ordering is pretty seamless. Delivery.com partners with a lot of restaurants in La Center to get food to its residents. In small towns there aren't many culinary options. We ordered the Deluxe Nachos with chicken. I would say it was pretty good. I'm not a real fan of Delovery over in-person because the food isn't as hot as it should. Having said that the plate was plentiful, more food that I could finish. The nachos were topped with beans, ground beef or chicken, melted cheese, fresh chopped tomatoes, green onions, guacamole and sour cream. All in all a tasty dish. From California so I eat at Mexican restaurants often and wasn't expecting much from this place but I was totally wrong. Food was amazing and service was even better. Bathrooms were clean as well. Can definitely tell they care about cleanliness and service for their customers. read more

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant the owner is a delight and super friendly . They know our drink order and chip preference right when we walk in the door . If you're looking for Mexican food, go to Taco Bell, and you'll get better food. Service was awful, food and margaritas. We sat there and watched people get their food before us that got there after us. We only had a combo plate and a bowl of soup. The manager proceeded to tell us that if you go to the store and buy a beer, you can't take it back after trying it, of course, you run a restaurant, thats not how it works you should want people to come back. I've never sent back a drink ever, or written a review. Feel this was warranted. read more

This place cares! Right off the highway into the downtown of LaCenter I have stopped twice and both the Chile Verde and the Chile Colorado are wonderful! The meat is freshly cooked and tender with plenty of homemade sauce and drowning in cheese. The beans and rice- delicious and full of flavor. Have eaten here many times. Since COVID-19, we've ordered meals to go a couple times. Tonight I ordered Camarones a la Diablo, it was hot (as stated on the menu), sweet and well-spiced. The best meal I've had from this restaurant. 2020 gets 1 star, El Rancho Viejo in La Center gets 5 stars. read more

Stopped in for dinner the other night with my wife. While the food and service were decent as usual, the shocker came when we got the bill, around $56.00. Apparently, they've become a bit greedy with their prices. $15.00 for their top margarita, which I believe used to be $10.00, $2.75 for a Pepsi, just to name a few. Seems to me they're trying to make up some revenue lost during the Coronavirus shut down, plus the fact that they now must limit their seating capacity by 50%. It is for this reason, we won't be coming back.There are other Mexican restaurants that offer comparable food quality with reasonable prices within a short 15 minute drive from La Center. read more

My expensive steak burrito was 70% onions and peppers. They call it the Burrito Loco, most likely because of the crazy price considering how crazy bad it was. The sauce was bland and the presentation was boring for a $16 burrito in a small rural casino town. The only thing that sets this place apart from any other bad mexican food place is the poor service and arrogance of the management. We ordered a kids burrito meal for our daughter. We asked what kind of protein it came with. We were told by the server it comes with 'any meat.' Knowing that likely wasn't true, we asked about carne asada specifically. The server then said that carne asada would be more...which we expected. We asked how much extra it would cost and he didn't know. He said "just a little bit more." We said that would be fine, assuming that it meant $1-$2 extra for a tiny kid's burrito. When we got the check we were annoyed that the server added $5 to the bill for a couple ounces of steak. This nearly doubled the price of the kids meal and put the cost very near the similar adult meal, which is three times the amount of food. We considered just walking away, but decided to kindly challenge the server on the principle of misleading us on the up-charge. We simply expected an apology and possibly a small reduction in our bill. What we got was a middle aged Mexican man identifying as the manager rudely telling us it was our fault for not asking the price and schooling us that he is paying almost twice what we pay for skirt steak at the grocery store. This guy is just extremely rude and dishonest, or he is being taken to the cleaners by his meat supplier. I have a guess which scenario it was. He held super strong and talked in circles for about ten minutes until we just calmly walked out. We were taken for a whole $3. No biggie. We won't be back. That will cost this guy a lot more than us. read more
