Went in for dinner with our family!!! Got seated right away. The place was pretty busy for a Friday night. Our waitress got us some killer chips and salsa in no time at all. We waited a few mins for our family to show up. In the meantime our wonderful waitress got us drinks. Our family showed up and we got our orders taken. I got the bacon wrapped shrimp and steak place with rice and beans. It's was so good with the sweat slightly spicy sauce the shrimp has on it. Her Moljete bowl was huge and piping hot!!! It's was even hot when we took it to go with us after we are. Oh the churros were a delicious sugary treat as a dessert. The ladies liked their margaritas as well. Disappointing experience - overpriced for poor quality; something has changed as we've going to this restaurant for many years. In our recent visit on 3/28: "I really wanted to enjoy this meal, but unfortunately, the food and service fell short. I ordered a burrito and a chimichanga, both of which had a minimal amount of protein--it felt like eating mostly tortilla. The beans had absolutely no flavor, and the rice was so dry and crisp it was clear it had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. Service was another issue. We had to repeatedly flag down staff just to get water refills and basic chips/salsa. What's most frustrating is that the manager/co-owner was working on the floor. It's a mystery why he wasn't paying attention to the quality coming out of the kitchen or the lack of service at the tables. For the price, I expected much better." The wife and I were exploring places in Battleground and came across this place. We're glad we gave it a try. The salsa and chips probably make it work the trip on their own. Really chunky, fresh salsa and warm, crispy, not too thick chips were wonderful while we waited for the Pepe's special, that we decided to split. While it reminds you of a mixed fajitas plate, it comes with beef, chicken, shrimp, rice and beans and grilled mushrooms. The flavor was better than fajitas, very tasty and the two of us could not finish everything on the plate. The service was quick and pleasant. The seating was comfortable, the restaurant isn't too loud or too crowded. We'll be back! read more

Came by @lospepes360 because online looked like a nice lunch spot to enjoy the sun. I wanted to love this place for a spot right near Nate's to grab tacos. WELL... let's talk about it, as it wasn't a great experience. First the good. The area it's located is clean and nice the visuals of the inside and outside were awesome. I got there and was dead a 8 person at a table and another table getting up to leave 3-4 people. Stood there for about 4 min. Walked around no staff stood there for another 1-2 min a guy comes out and his attitude and demeanor wasn't well great. I said it's just me could you place me outside. He said no... walked me to the bar, he said he only has 1 server. I was a bit confused they had 1 table and me so I said cool can I just order at the bar and take my food out side? He looked frustrated and paused and said yeah we are just busy we only have 1 server.... And he walked away... At that point I was like ok I'll just order To go and leave not gonna do this he walks by about a min later says hey bro come out side I'll open it. He opens the door and said all good I will just order Togo. He said no it's ok I'll open the outside. Mind you just bad demeanor the whole time. So I walk outside the server comes out with chips and salsa. I asked if he was the owner she said yes. I told her the issue. I said I just wanna get 4 tacos asada and a small side of sour cream. You can only order in 3s so do you want 6. No I'll just do 3. She comes back with a bowl of sour cream... I notice a big ass hair in it... I'm like ok... Food comes decently quick about 8-10 min. ISO I'm just here to have a relaxing plate of tacos enjoy the weather. I get sour cream around the hair and go to enjoy the tacos and the tortillas are under cooked or they were frozen and not cooked all the way. At this point I'm just like I just wanna eat these and leave not good flavoring. But was $11.25 I guess this is what you get so was affordable right?... I've been coming here since 2017 and it's in the rotation for monthly happy hours with my girlfriends. It's typical Americanized Mexican food - very middle of the road. Their margaritas are what is bringing me here to update (and upgrade) my review. Did you know you can get a flight of margaritas?? I don't usually like flavored margaritas - just the standard, but let me tell you - their prickly pear made me a believer. Second time giving this place a try, unfortunately the experience wasn't the best. We were hoping to sit outside and saw there was a table available when walking up. We tried mentioning that when we walked in but was told outside wasn't available. Waited about 10 min to then be seated outside at the table we saw available. Not sure if there was a reason to that or not.. also I ordered a chicken enchilada and ground beef chimichanga. Once my food came it was a ground beef enchilada and a chicken chimichanga which really bummed me out. I now know to not order the chicken, it's dry shredded chicken w/o much flavor. Finally tried this place! And I was pleasantly surprised! I heard it was good but had to see for myself. They are severely understaffed, and the poor server was covering both inside and outside, as well as playing hostess. She was very cheerful and apologetic apparently, they had no bartender, and our food came out well before our drinks. The rice was tasteless, and the beans were very soup-like. My pork enchiladas were tough and cold, and my girlfriend's chicken enchiladas were dry and flavorless. Ambiance is lacking while decorated ok, it was cold inside, like leaving your coat on to eat. Service was quick, however we had to asking for time they failed to deliver. Nor did they check back to see on needs or quality of the food. The food quality has degraded from previous visit. What comes to you on the plates looks far better in the menu pictures. The chips while the looked ok left one with a taste of old fryer oil, highly disappointing! He served was a no show during the meal, but when it came to the bill turned into a chatter box likely to boost the tip. How did I not know this place even existed? It's better than all the Mexican restaurants in Battle Ground. This one actually has character. Not only that but they have unique drinks and meals! Let's first start with the drink, or is it an appetizer? 2 in 1! I ordered a Michelada (Pepe's Michelada) which is great on it's own but add shrimp and cucumbers and THAT'S A DRINK! I did not need to order an appetizer either. Then the meal! OMG! YUM! I recently went to Mexico looking for a Molcajete because all the ones that I see in town or cheesy. YET, Los Pepe's not only has authentic molcajetes but actually use them as a bowl! Wow! The dish come with beans on the bottom, nopales (cactus), and then 3 types of meat. Goodness it was the G R E A T E S T !!!! BTW, the dish is called Molcajete, of course. When we visited they were expanding which is great. Once more people realize this place is here, I have a feeling they will have all the seats full. For those who know Battle Ground, it's not on the main street. I have always liked Los Pepes. Right now it is especially nice because they have outdoor seating and are taking great care of their customers during the pandemic. Great food, really like their salsa too. The chef understands how to use Mexican oregano and that is a rarity. Everything I've ordered has been very good. The ceviche is fresh, the combos are many and varied, and they have rocking carne asada fries. IT is the first place I've found w carne asada fries since leaving SoCal. The Cadillac margarita is tasty and does its job...strong. Definitely recommend! read more

We have always loved this BG Los Pepe's but every thing is different since the plandemic... Recognized only 1 girl and the manager is a major tool!! Saturday night is supposed to be the busiest night but only 2 people waiting on tables inside with the jerk manager working the bar? REALLY?? If that's not enough they wouldn't let in some veterans - there were three or four veterans that came in and one gave up both of his legs for our country - the manager would not let him in because he had a dog even though it was certified to go everywhere with him! Told him they had to sit outside!! My husband and my best friend had words with the manager about other thing as well... the manager told my husband he will "see us to the door" after my hubby told him we are not coming back - he had total attitude until we reminded him we hadn't paid (lol)!! This place was good! People whine about having no good Mexican but this place is as good as any. The margarita was SO GOOD! I had a chicken burrito and my husband had shrimp. We couldn't finish ours.
