I've used Category 5 on two occasions, once to do accordion shutters on my 3-door slider and front door, and once on a friend's house. On the latter, they did a long accordion shutter that sealed off the entire covered portion of the patio; looks great. The sales rep, Daniel, was very cordial and professional, and the workers who put up the shutters were pleasant, professional and started and finished on time. The estimate was totally accurate except that it didn't include the permit fee, which was added. No big deal. We had a tiny glitch a small shutter and one door lock and they rectified that within 18 hours. A big thumbs-up. read more

Wow! Category 5 Shutters is impressive. Not only do they have an excellent product, but their service is top notch. We researched and obtained quotes from several different companies for accordion hurricane shutters, and selected Category 5 because of the quality & design of the shutters and the high level of service. We made the right decision. After receiving a quote from Category 5, we had a few questions. The owner, Brian Kobosko, came to our house and answered all of our questions. He showed us how the design and materials of his product were better than the competitors. He followed up by sending us pictures of how the shutters looked on similar window configurations and he gave us references in our neighborhood that we could visit to see how the shutters looked after installation. The staff at Category 5 handled all of the permitting activities, including the city permit and post-installation inspection as well as the HOA approval. They were proactive and thorough in shepherding the entire process. Category 5 didn't have the lowest price, but they offered the best service. One small example: other companies didn't include painting the house after the screws were removed from the old metal shutters. And Mickey, the team leader during our installation, was able to reconfigure the shutters on the fly for one of the windows to accommodate an architectural feature of the house. His knowledge about and expertise with the shutters was impressive. The rest of the installation team also did excellent work. The job was done quickly and professionally. The city inspector was satisfied with the work and promptly approved it. Overall, we were very pleased with all aspects of this project and the shutters themselves. My husband and I highly recommend Category 5.The installation of 11 accordion shutters in mid June 2018 went smoothly and the work was completed in one day. Daniel, the installation manager, was very thorough & personable. The administrative staff were friendly & kept us informed each step of the way. The installation crew answered all my husband's questions patiently as they worked. Daniel came back at the end of the job to walk my husband through opening & closing each of the shutters. In our case, Daniel remembered my husband's original concerns about the shutters on the second floor & brought a grabber from the hardware store. He even had chains installed on the sliders for the upstairs shutters so that either of us can reach outside the windows to pull shut them shut more easily. Recently installed accordion shutters from Category 5. I can not say enough good things about this company. When I first called I left a message on their phone. I was called back within 1 day by Samantha who could not have been any more pleasant. She gave me an appointment for an estimate. The owners father in law came to do the measuring and told me Brian would be back to remeasure. I had already had an accordion on my patio that I thought had to be replaced. They told me it could be repaired and it was not necessary to spend extra money. I was impressed! Most companies would have tried to sell me a new one! At that point I ordered my shutters, " no money down!" Six weeks later they were installed. They removed my old panels, filled the holes in my house, touched up the paint and blew away any dust when they were finished! Workers were professional and pleasant! We called Category 5 because we were paying 3x as much for homeowner's insurance as our neighbors, and decided we needed to get new storm shutters and a new mitigation report. We found Category 5 online. The guys quickly responded. They said our shutters were of high quality, they just needed a little silicone spray. The only thing we needed was coverage for our porch sliding doors. They gave us an estimate on the spot. A couple of days later they came and did final measuring, and put our shutter order in for manufacture. Six weeks later they came and installed our custom-made shutters. The General Manager (Wayne) personally came out to do our estimate. First, Please take a look at the difference in their shutters, not only do they look better by being sleeker, they are actually better rated than your usual according shutters. He explained why but I have a bad memory, luckily he left behind an informative pamphlet which went over pretty much everything we discussed. He beat the price of the company who did our neighbors across the street, who have the same exact house build but are using the older eyesore accordion type. Unfortunately we had a family emergency and the shutters will have to wait until next year. We had considered going with a different company and using panels, but after Wayne explained the benefits of their according shutters I will be using plywood for one more year. We just finished having the accordian shutters put on our home and could not be more pleased with our decision to go with Cat 5 Mfg. Their prices were great from the beginning. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and did so in a timely manner. They did not take a penny from us until we were completely satisfied with the job. We would highly recommend this company as they are honest, dependable and their installers were hard working young men who do their best to please you. It even started to rain towards the end of their installation and they would not stop until their job was finished! The shutters look great (they are stacked really tight on the sides) and we could not be happier and we definitely recommend this fine company and the outstanding job they did for us. They even offer a service where they will come and close all the shutters if a hurricane is predicted, and that gave us a lot of peace of mind, as one never knows when they may have to be out of town.
