    Crab Legs
    Tre S.

Massive Feast! Epic Crab Legs & Flawless Fried Catfish We rolled into Catfish Dewey's with a big party of 10, and this place absolutely knocked it out of the park! We specifically chose it because the wife loves crab legs, and they run an incredible All-You-Can-Eat special on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As you can see from my photo more than half of our table went all-in on the AYCE crab legs, and it was a glorious, buttery battlefield. The kitchen kept the supply coming--served up in big metal tins, consistently warm, perfectly cooked, and accompanied by absolute pools of melted butter for dipping. The quality and pace for an all-you-can-eat setup were top-notch. The wife was in seafood heaven! Now, with a name like Catfish Dewey's, you know I couldn't leave without testing the namesake dish. I ordered the catfish, and it was a total home run. It came out piping hot, with a perfectly seasoned, ultra-crispy golden crust while staying incredibly flaky and tender on the inside. The Hidden Gem Bonus: They start you off with complimentary hush puppies served with butter. Let me tell you, these things are dangerous! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the perfect sweet-and-savory bite to kick off a massive meal. Whether you're feeding a massive crew, chasing a killer seafood special, or just want some of the best fried fish in town, Catfish Dewey's is the real deal. Incredible food, great energy, and we left completely stuffed. Highly recommend! Where is the next stop on the Fort Lauderdale food tour? Hit me with the details!

There are not many parking spots in front, but the restaurant has someone who will direct you to places where you can leave your car. The dining room is very large and plain and not at all fancy. Our server was polite but she forgot to order my appetizer and didn't provide the separate checks that we requested. We all had versions of the all-you-can-eat scallops. And we never got a second plate because the first one was filled with about a dozen or more large ones. And no matter what special you get, you are allowed some catfish with it. So, of course, we each had a fillet. It was the best part of the meal. While the scallops were decent, we were not fans because they were fried, and a bit dry. The fried catfish was crunchy but flavorful. As to the sides, the cole slaw is good. The collard greens were average. The baked sweet potato was very mushy, and the French fries needed to be crisper. The hush puppies were addictive. If you like large or plentiful portions, add a star, because your belly will surely be full. I couldn't finish my scallops or the extra piece of catfish that I had requested. And you're not allowed any doggie bags with the all-you-can-eat offers. We certainly didn't have room to try any desserts. Two entrees at $35.99 each, one alcoholic drink, tax, and tip was $115.

This is not an elegant seafood restaurant, but rather a homie, comfortable neighborhood place selling great seafood and preparing tasty dishes. Something as pedestrian as hush puppies came to the table, and they were absolutely phenomenal. Light, airy, and a great crunchy cornmeal bread made them to die for. My wife had the fried catfish and loved every bite of it and I had the snow crab claws. On top of all this great food prices were very reasonable and probably half of what the "fancy seafood places "get for the same Dish. I would recommend this place to anybody who wants to try some great seafood at a great price.

Holy Schnikies!!! I'm in heaven! And THANK YOU my fellow yelpers for steering me in the right direction. Friendly service right as you come in, place was BUSY and there was zero wait time. Our server was kind and efficient. We were welcomed with complimentary hush puppies and coleslaw both were YUM! One glance at the menu and they had me at all you can eat catfish and stone crabs!! Because my mind was blown away I had a hard time deciding, I wanted it all! I opted for the Catfish with Baked potato, an extra side of collard greens (shared with my brother) and the stone crab app. Since it was my first time here, not sure how the stone crabs would stack up. They were very good! Fresh and delish. I'm really in awe, the food all of it was tasty! The service was on point and the vibe feels like you've stepped into an old country story book with old rock tunes blaring in the background. FUN all around. All that we ate for only $73, plus left a $20 tip, all under $100 for seafood galore and a great experience!

The food is always great here! We have never had anything bad in the 20 years that we have been coming here. We live about an hour north and don't hesitate to come down to this place. The servers are so nice and they are super friendly and helpful. This places PACKS so the parking is tough but it is so worth it! If you haven't been here yet, you need to come and try it!

I started off with the fried green tomatoes, can you say perfection! Seasoned just right and then fried to a golden brown. I ate all of them. Then I ordered the all you can eat crab special 60$ which came with hush puppies which were delicious and good cole slaw. The two sides I ordered were a sweet potato which was delish but smaller than the palm of my hand and creamed corn which was ok. They brought me 2 clusters then 3 clusters then 4 clusters and I could not even finish those . So you definitely can eat all that you would like . The staff was extremely welcoming . I sat at the bar and Glen was an excellent server .Parking was easy with an attendant telling you where to go which was so helpful . I will definitely go again and sit at the bar .

All you can eat crab legs were amazing. Grilled chicken was a very large portion. Grilled Shrimp were large and meaty but could use a little more seasoning. Hush Puppies were plentiful and delicious. Server, Joy, was great. Not an "upscale" fancy restaurant- but very casual and laid back southern vibe. Will definitely come here again.

Came to Catfish Deweys with my family right before Mother's Day weekend and had such a great experience! We started with the mushroom appetizer with horseradish sauce and the coconut shrimp -- both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, from the seafood to the appetizers. The atmosphere feels super cozy and homie, like an old fisherman's bar, with fish all over the walls that really give the place character. Our server, Leah, was amazing -- so friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu. She helped us decide what to order and made us feel right at home. We had the stone crab and crab claws, and everything was excellent. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to!

This is an older well established family owned restaurant that is popular for their All You Can Eat seafood platters. You can get stone crab legs, shrimp, catfish among other. I didn't go for the AYCE menu but tried their Catfish made in different ways. The bone in fried catfish had a stronger taste than I was expecting but their breaded filet tasted great. It came with tartar sauce but my server Philip read my mind, I guess, and got me a Cajun sauce as well. The Cajun sauce was made in house and you could tell. I had a 12 oz catfish off their lunch menu and it came with coleslaw, hush puppies and an extra side of your choice. I opted for collards and it was really good. After reading some of the reviews of their veggies (esp green beans) I had really low expectations but collards was done well. It had bacon bits and the little sugar that was added cut the bitterness of collards. The free hush puppies were decent too. The music didn't really appeal much to me. It was a bit loud and not necessarily something that you want to sit long and relax. Maybe it was on purpose considering the AYCE offerings. Service, however, was super prompt. Philip was attentive and great to talk to. The restaurant has parking in the front, side and in the back as well but looks like it gets full pretty fast. Considering the size of this restaurant and its popularity, it's understandable. However, there is a parking lot attendant to guide you if it overflows. This is a place people go for quantity more than quality but their menu is huge, so your experience largely depends on what you order.

From the moment we walked in , and our friendly Hostess Patricia greeted us, I knew it would be great! As soon as you sit down, they greet you with excellent Hushpuppies and Coleslaw! The Fried Green Tomatoes are so good.... Then we had Stone Crab , that was some of the Freshest and tastiest I've ever had, and I am a connoisseur, of this shellfish living in Florida for over 50 years ! The Collard Greens are also so good. The Mojitos I had were excellent, and the the Key Lime Pie was authentic, and excellent, all at very reasonable pricing !! It's not a glamorous place , but a down south Florida eatery! Do not miss it !!

It's okay. Was looking for a simple and casual restaurant which this certainly qualifies. I sat at the bar. Bartender service was friendly enough, prices reasonable, food was a bit bland, beer was cold, facility is in rough shape. I had the snapper. Looked great but not much flavor. Mashed potatoes I could not eat. Fried pickles appetizer was soggy. But key lime pie was excellent.

I had two piece catfish with fries and a side of Mac and cheese. To say it was disappointing is an understatement. The fries were cold and the fish was bland. The Mac and cheese tasted bland as well. In my opinion, I probably would never come back. Based on the reviews I expected a lot more in the flavor department. However the hush puppies are definitely good. I enjoyed the hush puppies the most out of everything that was on my plate. Its ambiance was dark and dank. A grease spoon bar feel. It was definitely do the elderly crowd. It was a bit rundown in my opinion. Could definitely use renovations. Although the servers were polite and prompt. I don't think I will be returning.

Came here for all you can eat stone crab and definitely ended up eating as much stone crab as I could, without even needing to order the all you can eat option The key lime pie was really good too!

Ask the Community - Catfish Deweys

Do they have fried clams as a main dish?

No, but everything else is great. The whole catfish is the best that I have ever had. They usually have stone or Alaskan king crab specials. You can check out their menu on Yelp.

    Do they any outdoor seating?

    Unfortunately, no

    How much for the all-you-can-eat?

Pull up the web site. The cat fish is 17.95 every day for all you can eat. Shrimp all you can eat is Monday and Tuesday 22.95. This includes all the catfish you can eat.…

    Was the crawfish spicy?

Not really spicy but seasoned very nice. If you go on Saturday it's all you can eat crawfish , fried oysters and fried clams. As a bonus you get all the catfish you can eat.

    Do you deliver?

I’m sorry to report we don’t deliver Dewey

    Are the crab legs good?

Yes the crab legs are good and you really get your money's worth If you go on Thursday or Sunday it's all you can eat at Market price. When you order all you can eat you also get all you can eat catfish at no additional cost .

Are the fried oysters always so rubbery?

Have had them before, they weren't rubbery.

When does Catfish Dewey's have all you can eat stone crabs? Are they fresh and good? How much is it?

They have them almost every day from Oct 15 - May 15 (stone crab season). You can call to see what sizes they have that day. Mostly medium and large either 1-2lb dinners or AUCE. Prices range but AUCE today was $55 for medium and $87 for large.…

Unfortunately, neither lived up to expectations. We started with the "jumbo" wings, which were anything but jumbo. We received only flats, and they were some of the smallest wings I've ever been served. After bringing this to the staff's attention, we were told the manager would take 50% off the order. However, when the bill arrived, we were informed that the manager had already left and the discount could no longer be honored. Instead, we were given only the $4 happy hour discount, despite being promised otherwise. For our entrées, we ordered the brisket sandwich and the half chicken. Neither was worth ordering. The chicken lacked the crispy texture it was advertised to have, and the brisket was bland and without flavor. The sandwich was also supposed to come with truffle fries, but instead we were served cold, plain fries. After mentioning it, the solution was to bring us a side of truffle oil and Parmesan cheese and ask us to mix it ourselves. The service was equally disappointing. We asked our server twice for drink refills, but she never brought them. We eventually had to flag down another server just to get our beverages refilled. Overall, this was a frustrating dining experience from start to finish. Between the poor-quality food, unfulfilled promises regarding the bill, and inattentive service, this restaurant fell well below the standard I would expect from a Miami establishment. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves one. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues because the current level of food quality and customer service is simply unacceptable. and quality is embarrassing for miami.

The bootlegger with the jalapeno pineapple infused moonshine is DELICIOUS. It's refreshing and light believe it or not! Next time I'll request sliced jalapeno's to add more kick! The whisky sour with the pecan whisky was good but a little too sweet. It was our first time and we were pleasantly surprised. The 'from scratch' concept is always something we appreciate. The kitchen being willing to accommodate a menu modification is the best. We tried multiple items on the menu and left with many leftovers as the portions were plenty. The table favorite with the appetizers were the drop biscuits! Holy tasty moly. The cinnamon butter and the soft creamy center was devine. The deviled eggs were very good. We would prefer a dill relish to cut the sweetness but overall very good. The corn ribs were great. Smokey and charred but still crunchy. The charred peppers were delicious! I think we would prefer the broccolini to be blanched prior to being charred just to soften it up. The burnt ends were very good. We're not used to them being cubed but more of a natural end from the point of the brisket and a little more burnt, but the whisky caramelized onions underneath are spot on. The brisket meat was the favorite. Tender and super flavorful. The pulled pork sliders were very good also but did not beat out the brisket. The black pepper and cheddar grits were very peppery but the cheddar wasn't as flavor forward. Very good though. I imagine the shrimp and grits is really good. The mac-n-cheese was very smokey and creamy. We appreciated the noodles not being overcooked. The loaded steak fries were also very good and crisp. Tons of flavor. I requested the protein bowl with pulled jackfruit vs the menu options. I opted for the root beer bbq sauce but I think it was too much sweet on top of sweet. It needed some heat more than the few slices of jalapenos on the top. It wasn't bad but the ingredients in the bowl are somewhat inert in flavor so adding hot sauce or more peppers would be better. The charred peppers would be a great add. Overall, our experience was awesome. I save my 5-star reviews for places that are superb but this place is definitely worth visiting.

The love and light…read morethat lives in Chef Juliette truly trickles down through her staff and shows up in every detail of the service. No matter when I visit, it's always a warm, hospitable experience--honestly reminiscent of The Ritz-Carlton. Surrounding businesses could learn a great deal from them. I first met Chef Juliette during a visit from DC in September 2025. My best friend introduced us, and immediately I felt the love of a mother and the passion of a seasoned chef who genuinely loves what she does. And that passion? It translates directly through the food. A few weeks ago, I was back in town visiting again, and the energy was exactly the same. We stopped by to pick up a catering order for an event, and Chef Juliette sent us off with pork chop sandwiches so big--and so good--I barely touched the catering food that day (thank goodness for to-go boxes and a freezer). I was able to bring back BBQ chicken, ribs, and the "Turn It Up Rice"--which is out of this world. Perfectly cooked rice layered with crisp vegetables, shrimp, chicken, and brisket... smoky, flavorful, and such a creative spin on fried rice. Then, the day after, Chef invited us back for a VIP experience--and when I say the love is real, y'all... it's real! She prepared a savory seafood étouffée enriched with shrimp and lobster, served over creamy polenta--an elevated take on traditional shrimp and grits. Paired with fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits, sausage from her brother in Georgia, and perfectly crispy bacon... everything was divine. The kind of meal that evokes emotion--the kind that makes you feel genuinely cared for. The restaurant itself feels cozy and welcoming--rich with history and personality. Every time I visit, I discover a new layer of her story which is told along the walls and decor. Chef Juliette is truly something special. If you're ever in the Pompano or Fort Lauderdale area, do yourself a favor and visit Lickie Stickie! And don't leave without trying the baked beans and black-eyed peas--Chef puts okra in them, and I don't want them any other way ever again. Outstanding.

The restaurant had natural outside light illuminating through the window and dim lighting from inside. There is seating if you like to dine. Costumers were coming from Church service to have family dinner and some for takeout. The young lady and gentleman were professional and explained everything well. I ordered ribs, pork pieces, mac n cheese, collard greens, yams, cornbread, fries and brownies. I believe they give out complimentary lemonade. I was very thankful. So, thank you Lickie Stickie for the lemonade. Plus they had plenty of cakes on display to choose from. The food is good. The ribs and pork pieces were well marinated, no bbq sauce needed. The bbq sauce tastes homemade. If at any time I want BBQ, this would be my go to spot. Yes, I will be returning to try more food.

This was me and my husband's first time at this restaurant. We decided to come here, because we…read morewere in the area and I saw the sign. We end up stopping by and saw an employee taking a break outside and told my husband where the menu was located. I chose turkey, Mac and cheese, collard greens and a side of potato salad. My husband ordered fried tilapia, yams, and lima beans. All dinners comes with a rice. We had pigeon peas and rice. My husband went in the restaurant to pick up the food. He came back and as I was looking over the food, I didn't see any cornbread. I saw the reviews on YELP, so I asked him to ask can we purchase cornbread or do they have any. The female employee stated she gave us some. No, we didn't have any. My husband came back to check and none was in our bag. She said that she gave us some. First of all, we would not ask for anything that we didn't pay for. If you look at how much we dine out, you would know that we spend money really well, and don't need any handouts. I was really disappointed! But anyway, she gave us what we were supposed to have, which was the cornbread what we NEVER received. My husband said he think that it was the owner that told the employee not to argue with the customer. That was unacceptable, PERIOD! :-( The food score: My food- collard greens-8 potato salad-4 Pigeon peas and rice-4 Turkey-8 Cornbread-10 Husband food- Fried tilapia-7 Pigeon peas and rice-6 Yams-6 Lima beans-5 Cornbread-10 *needed more seasoning on fish, and Lima beans. If we're in the area, we may order again. Hopefully we won't have an issue about the cornbread, again. :-/

However, if oxtail is on the menu, it's a no brainer for me. I got the oxtail with yellow rice, Mac and cheese and collard greens. My husband got the fried catfish with collard greens and sweet yams. My son ordered shrimp and grits which is his go to. You know the food is good when your head starts bobbing after the first bite like, "oh yeaaah!" We got a taste of each other's food and agreed everything was amazing! Our plates came with cornbread as well and portions are so generous. The gentleman and lady who took our order were super nice. My husband got 2 slices of lemon cake to go and said they were good. We will definitely be back next time we're in tbe area.
