I just had a wonderful meal at Lickie Stickie BBQ, and Chef Lynette and her staff outdid themselves! I was welcomed before the door closed behind me. Everyone who spoke to me looked me straight in the eyes. To a soul each person was polite, friendly, and helpful, and personable. Honestly, I haven't been treated like this in a restaurant in ages, maybe ever. But that was just the beginning! All guests are offered complimentary lemonade, and trust me, you want it. It's yummy. I had thought I'd just grab to-go, but when the staff asked and I looked around at the rustic homey setting, I decided to stay. So glad I did! As I would discover food like this is best enjoyed with other people around. Plus it was a pleasure to see how the staff treated each diner and delivery driver with respect and kindness. After some time with the menu, I decided on Brisket and Two Meats, ordering mixed brisket, pork, and chicken. It came with fried cornbread and two sides. I wanted to try more sides so in addition to potato salad and collard greens, I ordered black eyed peas, and sweet yams. Good heavens what a delicious meal! The brisket was so tender and moist. Truly the best I've ever had. The pork was chunked up and very tasty. And the chicken had a great char. Once I'd tasted everything, and realized it could all stand alone with no sauces, I added the bbq sauces. After all that's what I came for, and wow did Lickie Stickie deliver! One bbq sauce is a red sauce with wine - insanely good on the brisket, and the other is sweet and tangy with mustard - delicious on the chicken. Both are perfect! The pork could go either way. I liked the red on it. The sides were all tasty. Collards are a favorite of mine and these were quite good. The yams were delightful. The potato salad was good. The food was a very big portion. I ate til I was full and took home two very full containers of food. My first bite of the evening was the black-eyed peas. It was my first bite and my favorite bite all evening. Now, that in no way diminishes the utter deliciousness of all the rest of Chef Lynette's cooking. My eyes repeatedly rolled back in my head this whole meal., But it does tell you how much I loved those black-eyed peas. They had okra and turkey in them and they were beyond excellent. The love and light that lives in Chef Juliette truly trickles down through her staff and shows up in every detail of the service. I first met Chef Juliette during a visit from DC in September 2025. My best friend introduced us, and immediately I felt the love of a mother and the passion of a seasoned chef who genuinely loves what she does. And that passion? It translates directly through the food. A few weeks ago, I was back in town visiting again, and the energy was exactly the same. We stopped by to pick up a catering order for an event, and Chef Juliette sent us off with pork chop sandwiches so big--and so good--I barely touched the catering food that day (thank goodness for to-go boxes and a freezer). I was able to bring back BBQ chicken, ribs, and the "Turn It Up Rice"--which is out of this world. Perfectly cooked rice layered with crisp vegetables, shrimp, chicken, and brisket... smoky, flavorful, and such a creative spin on fried rice. Then, the day after, Chef invited us back for a VIP experience--and when I say the love is real, y'all... it's real! She prepared a savory seafood étouffée enriched with shrimp and lobster, served over creamy polenta--an elevated take on traditional shrimp and grits. Paired with fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits, sausage from her brother in Georgia, and perfectly crispy bacon... everything was divine. The kind of meal that evokes emotion--the kind that makes you feel genuinely cared for. The restaurant itself feels cozy and welcoming--rich with history and personality. Every time I visit, I discover a new layer of her story which is told along the walls and decor. Chef Juliette is truly something special. Flavor and taste of the barbecue ribs and chicken were great. Noticeably smaller portion/pieces than received on previous visits. Apparently, reflection of the challenging economic times we're experiencing. Very disappointed in the quantity and price of the Catfish daily special. For $15, I was shocked when I opened the very light, styrofoam takeout container and found a single, medium size filet. Really?! The portion of the sides were ample. The macaroni and cheese was cheesy delicious. The rice and peas were bland. I enjoyed the corn bread bombs. One of my dinner guests (1st timer) wasn't so sure about them. Customer service was the usual welcoming, friendly, prompt service that makes a customer feel like family. Along with complimentary samples of the daily soups and lemonade. All the tables had neatly arranged place settings with menus. The peeling floor needs repair. The verdict is also out on the drinks being served in the plastic containers. It would seem regular beverage cups are less expensive and easier to use. The soup samples were tasty and piping hot. Just grabbed take out for the first time. The ambiance in this place is warm, and the service, even more so. Got ribs, brisket, jerk chicken, mac, potato salad, along with corn bread fritters and lemonade. The food is incredible. Each thing I've tried is more impressive than the last. Most didn't make it untouched to the picture portion. The ribs and brisket are fantastic, but the potato salad is unreal. It has a hint of pepperiness that takes it over the top. I really believe that there is not a better barbecue place in Broward County. The brisket is insane, their sauce is what really sets them apart. I also absolutely love their baked beans, molasses and brown sugar baked beans!! The service is very friendly. They usually offer you something special for free just so you can try it and fall in love with that also. Was omw home, hungry, and in the mood for ribs. I noticed they popped up on my suggestions of places near me and saw the high stars so I decided to try it. I dont live far and it's been a struggle to find a good rib place close by. My go to places are in coral springs and in miami...GLAD TO SAY I FOUND THIS SPOT AND EVEN BETTER , LESS THAN 10 MIN AWAY!!!! The seasoning on the ribs was great! We're always on the lookout for good BBQ. We've tried all the local BBQ spots but never really enjoyed them. We've always enjoyed Lickie Stickie BBQ at the farmers markets, but they were never our go-to BBQ spot, as they didn't have a store front. But that's about to change, as they have a store front. Lickie Stickie BBQ will be the only BBQ spot we dine at. We dined at their location off 44th Street today and it was the best experience we've had. We ordered a smorgasbord of things: brisket, jerk pork, smoked pastrami, kids hot dog, kids grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, fries, coleslaw, fried corn bread and lemonade. Everything was delicious! The service was exceptional. The entire staff went above and beyond for us, especially for our three young children. Thank you for the wonderful service and delicious food! Came here on my lunch break. I forgot to bring lunch so I search on yelp lunch nearby and this place popped up with some good reviews and also recommendations from a coworker. Who's also tried them too. When I arrived, there was not so many people there so it was perfect timing to grab my lunch and go. Ever since they closed Tom Jenkins, I've been in dire need of a bbq spot. Lickie Stickie BBQ has now become my new spot for life. My server was completely attentive to all my needs, she brought all my food fresh and she did it all flawlessly. Just met this crew this morning at the Sunrise Farmer's Market. You could smell the BBQ through the entire park! Went to hunt it down and just as I spotted it I saw a booth selling gorgeous, huge slices of cake. Of course I stopped. Turns out she's with the BBQ team and she introduced me to their restaurant. I got a pound of the jerk pork, a medium garlic potatoes and a slice of the strawberry red velvet cake and good lord I am in heaven! The pork has an amazing crust and is so incredibly moist and flavorful. Their homemade sauce they serve it with is unreal. And the potatoes, wow! Absolutely wonderful! This place deserves any and all rave reviews. My family and I were visiting the area and something told me to check Lickie Stickie out and I'm so glad we did. The plaza is quiet and we were able to park right in front of the restaurant. Upon entering we were welcomed right away by two of the staff and sat down at the table of our choice. While checking out the menu we ordered three of their home recipe lemonades and they were divine. I love a fresh, hand mixed lemonade and this hit the spot. Chef Juliette was so kind and offered us samples of her everything soup and I would come back just for this soup! It was so tasty, filling, and packed with flavor. My mother decided to order a whole cup along with her platter. She and I ordered two individual meals of brisket and ribs; collards and bbq beans for her, mac & cheese for me. My brother ordered the smoked chicken (I tried a piece the next day from leftovers and YUM). The platters came with fried cornbread and everything was delicious. These were HUGE portions. My mom and I agreed we could have shared one, but it was great to have leftovers the next day. My only request would be to have another type of BBQ sauce available as I am personally not a fan of a mustard base. The staff and Chef Juliette checked in on us throughout the meal and really showed they cared about our experience. Once finished, we talked to them about how the restaurant has been doing since we saw they just opened earlier this year. Finally had the chance to visit Lickie Stickie with my family. The owner was extremely nice and her staff provided great customer service. The ribs were tender and the chicken had the perfect smoked flavor. They provide you with the choice of bbq sauce or jerk seasoning but honestly it's good enough that you really don't need the sauce. The baked beans are southern style and have brisket in them. The macaroni and cheese looked really good from what I saw. The entree portions are big enough for those with a football player appetite. The only thing they could improve on is having a variety of drink options because the waiter said the only option was water and lemonade. The lemonade is first class if you like southern sweet lemonade. It was also interesting to learn the owner of the restaurant is the daughter to Art's BBQ which used to be off of Sunrise in the 90's and was a staple in Broward. Delicious! I ordered a combo platter with jerk, pork, and brisket, which you can get lean, fatty, or mixed, and it comes with one side and some of their lemonade. The mac & cheese was outstanding, as was the brisket. I usually do not eat jerk pork, but I tried it and this one was fantastic.!
