My daughter and I stopped by Batch Local Kitchen in downtown West Palm Beach for a quick lunch, and it was a good experience! Even though it was a hot day, we chose to sit outside at one of the shaded high-top tables. We enjoyed a couple of cold beers while taking advantage of their excellent $20 prix fixe lunch special, which was an incredible value. The meal included a starter salad, your choice of entrée, and dessert. We ordered the cheeseburger and the hot chicken sandwich, and both were delicious. Everything arrived fresh, hot, and straight from the kitchen. The portions were generous we were so full that we couldn't even eat our desserts, so we happily took them home to enjoy later. If you're looking for a tasty, reasonably priced lunch in downtown West Palm Beach, Batch is definitely worth a visit. Great food, great value, and a relaxed atmosphere. I want to especially shout out our waitress Phoebe, for being an absolute delight! We ordered the batch burger, mac attack, deviled eggs and candied bacon. Each dish showed real attention to detail. The fried chicken in my mac attack was crispy, flavorful, and seasoned all the way through, paired well with the deliciously creamy mac & cheese. My Honey was a happy camper with his batch burger, noting that it was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Every plate felt like it was made with care rather than just assembled. The cocktails were also thoughtfully crafted, with a nice mix of classic Southern inspiration and modern touches. The whisky sour was a favorite. Danelle is an amazing asset to their team, she is so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful as we are always very hungry (and indecisive when it comes to ordering). What a fun Saturday brunch; it was a whole fun vibe, with remixes from the 90's (and a DJ). We sat at the bar for brunch- and the bartender was GREAT. Not only was he happy, friendly, and helpful, but because they didn't have Bailey's or Espresso (for the original drink I asked for), he created both and made me a delicious coffee drink! Really great bartending skills, that seem to be hard to find nowadays. For my meal I ordered the "Mac Attack" (macaroni and cheese)- with bacon and fried chicken add-ons. It was 10/10. The cavatappi macaroni noodles were cooked al dente, and the mix of smoked cheddar and gouda was hot and creamy, just gooey and rich. The "spicy Frito" dust was unique (not too spicy), the fried chicken was broken up into tiny bites that were lightly fried (perfect amount of breading), and the bacon bits were nice and crunchy! Usually I would go with a regular menu item but they had a special available- Pecan Crusted Rainbow Trout over Carolina Gold Rice, Grilled Asparagus and drizzled with a Bourbon Béarnaise. I went for it. Batch is a scratch kitchen. It's evident in their food that they take their craft and qualify seriously. The rainbow trout was $35. A little on the pricier side but boy, these were 2 huge trout filets over a generous pile of rice. The pecan crust was nutty and buttery. The trout was cooked beautifully and stayed very tender and moist. I loved it. The only thing I would do to improve this dish is consider putting it over risotto and the trout could have used a bit more salt to finish it. Service was great and attentive. We were asked if we were enjoying our meal by a couple different staff members. It was also a nice night so we sat outside on the patio. This was a little loud with the cars coming by on the street, so consider staying inside if you're easily bothered by loud souped-up cars. Of course, I only tried one meal, but I have a feeling you will not be disappointed here. Lots of variety on the menu and first impressions were very strong. read more

I arrived about and hour or so before they closed but I was still greeted warmly and given a seat at a booth. I thought that the ambiance was really nice. It was dark and lighting was solid there was also blue lights which I thought was cool. The food was perfect to me. I'm originally from the South so my standards were high. I ordered a sweet tea which they didn't have but the gave me iced tea with simple syrup which was just as good. The crab cakes were great especially with the pepper and I believe orange that you can squeeze on top. The heat from the peppers was a nice combination. I also ordered the short ribs which were amazing. They were super tender and seasoned well. The mashed potatoes were great with catching the sauce and the crispy toppings provided a great crunch to change up the texture. We had an enjoyable evening with friends at Batch on Clematis Street. The area is decorated beautifully for the holidays and our company was the cherry on top. We arrived early and chose to sit outdoors as the weather was just right. Our server and trainee were prompt and we ordered drinks and appetizers from the happy hour menu. Our friends had been here before and told us of the happy hour menu selection. All together we tried about everything on it and it became our meal. I also ordered the Cobb Salad and it was a great choice as well. The menu included Deviled eggs, wings, fried green tomatoes, a smoked egg roll and choice of 3 different sliders. I especially loved my fried green tomatoes and others were very pleased with the wings and brisket sliders. And you really can't beat this pricing. Because it was early on a Monday eve we were able to find street parking nearby. The downside was a 2 hour limit so in order to stroll the area further we had to move our car to a space around the corner since the meters were set to allow only 2 hours per vehicle!! The nuttiness of the Pecan Whiskey Sour gave it an interesting flavor profile, slightly medicinal but still enjoyable. The Blueberry Lemonade was refreshing and delicious. I ordered some happy hour bites: fried green tomatoes and wings. The happy hour bites were pretty average, but the standout was definitely the fried green tomatoes. The service was excellent. Batch presents a Southern scratch-cooked menu within a cozy, modern and stylish ambience. I went with the Batch Burger with a house salad as a side. The vinaigrette mixed with the locally-sourced house salad was delish. It's worthy of giving this salad a better name. The Batch Burger was nicely stacked with lettuce, beefsteak tomato, whiskey-caramelized onion, aioli, smoked white cheddar, and pecan-whiskey candied bacon. Perfect with a light lager on draft. 5/5 Stars Went on a Saturday night and arrived at 7 PM for a date night with my fiancé. We were seated promptly with no wait at all. The aesthetics inside are really nice, and they have a great outdoor seating area too. Parking is in a nearby garage -- reasonably priced, nothing crazy. The whole area feels chill, friendly, and perfect for a night out with the girls, guys, or they/them crew as well. Food-wise, we ordered the fried chicken and waffles plus the burger combo. Hands down, everything was excellent! The food came out pretty quickly and was made with fresh, quality ingredients. The waffle wasn't basic at all -- it had cornmeal in it and was perfectly fluffy. The fried chicken tasted like your granny made it in her well-seasoned, passed-down skillet -- crispy, juicy, and full of that real Southern love. The maple syrup was the real deal too, none of that fake stuff. The burger was prepared with great attention to detail -- fresh bun, quality toppings, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. HH pricing is because it's half the size. You can't mix the wing flavors at the minimum qty which was all I needed, so I found that slightly annoying. But the wings were good though, and so are the deviled eggs and pork sliders. For dinner the first time, I had something so basic, brisket sammich with loaded fries. The sammie was so dry and while I have Texas BBQ taste buds, I didn't activate them as a comparison. Batch has been low key each visit. From start to finish, the service was top-notch, the food was absolutely flawless, and the atmosphere struck that perfect balance between relaxed and refined. *Delayed post from June '25 I stopped here for lunch before hitting the beach and had a mixed experience. Parking in the area can be tricky, but we lucked out with a spot off the street. Our server was attentive when we put in our food and drink orders, then all but disappeared afterwards, which forced us to go to the bar to pay after a long wait. The BBQ eggrolls we ordered were delicious! They reminded me of sliders, but lighter and less greasy than expected, and the ratio of meat to wrapper was perfect. The outside was thin, crispy and gave a crunch when you bit into one, while the shredded pork and beef filling was moist and tender. It had a significant amount of vinegar based BBQ sauce that was also very sweet, presumably from brown sugar. I appreciated the chives on top and the buttermilk ranch on the side as well because the ranch has an acidity to it that pairs nicely with the sweet, tangy and smoky filling. The Mahi sandwich was also a great choice, served on charred, buttery, soft bun, and topped with red onions, pickles, and a mayo/mustard sauce with lots of herbs. The fish was cooked really well and dripped so much juice that it soaked the entire plate as I bit into it. My only criticism is there were too many raw red onions and the pickles were cut too thick. The fries on the side were thin and unfortunately stale. Thankfully I also ordered the Apple Quinoa Salad, which was the quintessential SoCal quinoa salad I was craving. The greens were fresh and crunchy, with a decent amount of vinaigrette to coat it all without being too oily. The toasted pecans paired lovely with the tart dried cherries and a large portion of feta crumbled throughout. On the other hand, the BBQ ribs were terrible. They were super dry from end to end and largely inedible without sauce, though even then they were pretty bad. The coleslaw side was way too pickled and cut in unappetizing thick strips, especially the large chunks of red onion. They need to reduce the amount of vinegar and be wary of letting it sit for too long before serving to prevent it from fermenting. Honestly, I'd just rework the recipe altogether and include mayo to balance out the high level of acidity, maybe even stealing the buttermilk as the base? read more

Wow...just wow. When the side house Caesar salad makes you say "omg this is amazing" that's when you know you've found a gem. I mean, I love salad but this one was out of this world (and it was just a side!) For the meal I got the batch burger with avocado, egg, and candied bacon... absolutely incredible, every topping, and especially the aioli they put on it. Mouth wateringly delicious. Great servers and bartenders who were attentive while also not going over the top doing too much so I could truly enjoy my meal while watching some preseason NFL on the TV. With an inside and outside area and a rustic wooden feel, it's definitely a place that I can see becoming really popular. The secret is it's a scratch kitchen so they're making everything right there. All the sauces and foods and flavors and spices... it's all original which is why it taste so fresh and good and you can sense the difference. It was $8 mules for "Stubborn Sunday" as the special, and I thought I'd have to just get a regular one but no, they had a blackberry one which was delicious. A pleasant surprise to say none the less. We decided to take a walk down Clematis and let out hearts lead us to lunch. We ended up at Batch. This is a scratch kitchen where everything that can be is made from scratch. They have an offering of house infused moonshine and some unique specialty cocktails. The atmosphere is like a saloon. We sat at a high booth I thought was cute. They will tell you that everything in a box on the menu is their specialty and we went with the three boxed items on the starter menu. I asked the waiter for a drink suggestion and he did not miss with the Bootlegger - jalapeño and pineapple infused moonshine with guava and citrus. It was delicious. I had two. I really enjoyed the jalapeño flavor. It was smooth and not overpowering. For starters we had the Buttermilk Drop Biscuits, Burnt Ends, and the Deviled Eggs. All were excellent. The biscuits come hot out the oven in a skillet with chili lime honey butter and house made jam. So good! For mains I had the Southern Cobb with fried chicken added and he had the Shrimp Jambalaya. Now, remember I told you that items in the boxes were the specialties? Well these items were not in the boxes lol. The Cobb salad you can't really mess up but I think the chicken could have been better seasoned. The shrimp was spicy and the rice was bland on the jambalaya.
