My mother and I live in South Louisiana and try to go to cemeteries in Jonesboro and Mansfield every six months or so to change out the flowers. We literally plan out trips around when this restaurant is open. We love it and have been eating there for many, many, years! Five of us ate there last night. The place is not new to us but it is under new ownership. It was our second visit since the change. They open at 3:00 on Saturday. We arrived about 15 minutes before they opened, since we didn't check their hours. There were several folks waiting to get in when we got there. Robert opened the door and told us to come wait inside! We each had the 3 pc filet plate with fries and 2 big delicious hush puppies and the salad bar. I always judge the hush puppies and these were A++. Some of us took advantage of the complimentary ice cream. The food was delicious, piping hot and they didn't scrimp on the portion sizes. I saw a review fussing about price increase, but prices have gone up everywhere. I would rather pay a little more and get good food, than get mediocre food at a cheaper price. My husband and I ate for less than $35, a very fair price for the quality and quantity. If you haven't been here, or if you haven't been lately, do yourself a favor and go have the best fish around. read more

The new owner(s) increased the price by about $7 person. When we went for dinner, there were no shrimp. The fish was overcooked and dry. The new owner has much to learn about the restaurant business. We will try going to eat there one more time. We will report if there has been improvement. read more

Let me begin with the young ladies working here are some of the friendliness ladies that I have had to serve me in a long time. The frog legs , catfish and boiled shrimp were some of the best that I ever had. The catfish is offered in regular fillet, thin and crispy and whole catfish. Very nice to have a choice. The fried shrimp however was something you would expect from a gas station but not a seafood restaurant, very disappointing when everything else was top rated. This place was clean and well lit. I wrote a 4 star review for Catfish Inn several years ago, and forgot about it, until I saw it when I came to post this one. About a week and a half ago, I was on the phone with my oldest sister. I didn't realize I was being loud, but I was basically updating her on my prognosis, which is a grade 4 glioblastoma. It's an extremely aggressive form of brain cancer, and I have been given about a year to live. The waitress overheard me, and when she brought our food, she said our meal was on the house. I was confused at first, before realizing that she heard my conversation. I stood up and hugged her. It was very difficult not to cry. This meant so much to me. I found out I had a glioma tumor in January. February 7th, I was informed that it was a glioblastoma. Then a week later, I was informed that it was a grade 4. There is no grade 5. Before all of this, I had been taking care of my mom, who passed away last February. After I lost my mom, I have been staying with friends and family, battling depression, extreme anxiety, PTSD, suicidal thoughts, and anger that has plagued me for years. In the time that I found out about my tumor, I have been shunned by friends I thought would ALWAYS be there for me, thrown out of my relative's house, and just tonight, after finally reaching my other sister and telling her that I am dying, she tells me I'm going to hell. Why? Because I'm not a christian, and don't believe in god. I've lived a good life, and have treated others the way I want to be treated. But my own sister tells me I'm going to hell, because I don't believe in HER god, completely ignoring the fact that there are over four thousand different religions, all believing that THEIRS is the one true religion. It is unbelievable how "friends" and family can treat you like dirt during the worst possible time in your life, and a complete stranger shows complete, unselfish compassion. If not for my five year old daughter, I would have already committed suicide. It seems as though not three days go by without a family member or someone I thought was my friend says or does something that crushes me inside. I've lost track of the number of so-called friends who told me that we would do something (insert day here), only for that day to come and never hear from them. I even had one "friend" get mad and hang up on me, because I wouldn't tell her where I was staying, so she could come pick me up. She had been drinking, with her husband telling her in the background that she wasn't going anywhere. She started insulting him. I told her to stop insulting her husband because he was right, and she told me to go f**k myself, and hung up.This was AFTER she called, crying and apologizing for avoiding me. This is supposed to be a review, and I've gone a bit off track. The food and service at Catfish Inn are always excellent. They have a delicious buffet, burgers, and soft serve ice cream. There is nothing I dislike about this restaurant. Small town restaurants have the best food and staff! I consider myself a strong man, but it almost feels as though nearly everyone I love has turned against me, and it hurts like hell. No, not almost. That is exactly what has happened, and it's sickening. Thank you, Catfish Inn, for showing me sympathy I haven't known from those I considered closest to me. When I told my dad via phone two weeks ago, all he could say was, "Wow. I hate that." then proceeded to talk about how the cost of his Dish Network has increased by $30.00 for the next 20 minutes. Places like Catfish Inn and the people who work there deserve our complete and utter support. If only for the food alone. But the kindness I was shown that day, especially since I am struggling financially, meant the world to me. read more

This place has the best fried catfish I have ever eaten. It is cooked perfectly...... crisp but not burnt. Whole fish or fillets. Spicy boiled shrimp or regular. Delicious hush puppies and all the "fixings". It's a two hour drive for me, but well worth it! read more

This place is a must stop! They cook catfish just like my grand dad did. Fillet, stake, or whole. I prefer whole. The hush puppies taste homemade and the salad bar has the perfect sides including picked green tomatoes. The also have shrimp three ways; fried, boiled, and spicy boiled! My wife and I have eaten here several times. We enjoy the evening buffet and it's always delicious. I particularly like that they offer two types of catfish fillets, one thin and crispy(my preference) and regular long cut and moist(my wife's preference) they also have excellent whole catfish, frog legs, spicy and mild boiled shrimp. The price for seniors is a little over 13 dollars and includes drink and dessert. Hard to beat that deal with all you get. You can order off the menu also. You won't be disappointed if you visit. Service is always pleasant and helpful. Don't look for fancy just great food and service. read more

We stayed at Jimmie Davis State Park back in March of this year and everyone suggested this place to go eat at. My wife and I are glad they did.
