Ok, I used to love Golden Corral. The nostalgia has crashed and burned with this most recent visit. $22 for my meal, and they hardly have anything that I like or even tolerate (including desserts) the labels are all switched around including a strawberry cheesecake label (which I would absolutely die for strawberry cheesecake) that had no cheesecake under it, leaving me incredibly disappointed and feeling cheated. The new atmosphere just feels sterile and boring, the service is cheerful, but our server was talking to me as if I was a child because I forgot to take my lid off when she went to get my refill. Overall, nit-picky things, I think someone with a different palate than mine can have a great time here, but for the price, I am thoroughly disappointed. New to the area & have not been to a Golden Corral since about 99 in either Alabama or Georgia. It was so good there. Wanted to try it here. Not the same. It was dark inside. Some of the food was good the first time around but the 2nd time the baked fish & most everything else didn't taste that great. It was expensive too. $38 for 2 & in the south. Brunch with many! This is the perfect place for 10 people to meet for brunch! The staff set us up tables and off we went to pile mountains of breakfast food onto our plates! The food was plentiful even if we were near the end of breakfast time. Most everyone enjoyed their food. What I had was not 5 star worthy and was really closer to 3 (quality and taste). The ability to get such a very wide sampling of breakfast meats and eggs and pastries on a single plate (glad I didn't have a platter as then I would have needed a cart to move it) made it a clear 4 star event. The servers were okay and for Golden Corral, very much the standard minimum/slow response. Over all, the place was clean and with the high volume of humanity that grazes through here, that says a lot about the staff! She had a big smile on her face the whole time we were there, was very pleasant with all the customers, checked on us repeatedly throughout our meal. I believe the pulled pork needs to be taken off the menu and inspected. My mother had it this weekend and suffered symptoms of food poisoning. She recalled the meat feeling almost cold to touch when she took a bite of it but trusted your kitchen enough to not worry until she got sick. Are you all consistently checking and documenting the temperatures of the pork in the buffet and confirming that this meat is cooked thoroughly before serving it to customers? As a medical scientist with a great deal of knowledge regarding bacteria and parasites in undercooked pork I am concerned. read more

Against my better judgement I agreed to eat at Golden Corral, looking for that nostalgia. $35 for 2 buffets with no drinks is insane. The "hot" food was only slightly warmer than room temperature, perfect for incubating bacteria, taking bets to see which one of us ends up with food poisoning. Unfortunately being in public health makes me hyper vigilant. Ate half a plate of food then opted for dessert that is served cold, figured that was safe. Tables, serving utensils, and seats all were greasy. Should have turned around when we walked in and 3 waiters were leaned over the rail at the cash wrap engrossed with their phones. This is been a place that we visit quite often. The prices are great for seniors. Two years ago. We went for their turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, and was very happy with the food and experience. The price was reasonable at $11.99. So we decided to go there this year for Thanksgiving. It was a little pricey at $15.49 per seniors. But the place was packed because I guess the price of turkeys was outrageous this year. So we waited a bit probably about 25 minutes and then we're seated very quickly. I picked up my plate and went to the meat bar for my turkey. When I got there, they told me that there was no more turkey. Unbelievable that I would come out for Thanksgiving dinner and not have turkey. Distance well with me. Then I went for pumpkin pie and there was no pumpkin pie either. They ended up saying it'll be about seven minutes and will bring one out. I brought it back to my table and my wife and I ate frozen pumpkin pie. Unacceptable. I spoke to one of the managers and he didn't seem interested to know about the lack of turkey nor the frozen pumpkin pie. All in all, but I do not think I would come back here for Thanksgiving. The service was good and parking was OK. The people when they 86'd the turkey should've told the cashiers because we might had chosen to do something else. We went early about 11:30 am food was delicious! Waitress was GREAT. We go with a group of DLA retirees. Our group runs about 20 and growing as more DLA retirees find out about our lunch gatherings on the first Wednesday of every month we arrive about 11:30am-12:00 pm and leave when ever sometimes it may be 3:00pm! Because we are having such a great time visiting with everyone! This is a great way to keep in contact with our retired work friends and have a great meal of your choice! read more

Instead of going to some other restaurant where you get one piece of meat and two sides, you can have any number of anything you want for the same price or less than the other restaurants. Ugh, this place can make you gain 20lbs. There's so much food and it's always fresh and there's enough patrons to prove it. Lunch weekday is when I went and it's $8.99 which isn't bad considering they have such a big selection. Also, they have senior discounts for over 60 so there's a lot of senior citizens there. This is the only Golden Corral I've been to so I don't know how it compares but it's pretty delicious. I would so rather go here than say Furr's. Their Brussel sprouts, yellow squash, sweet potatoe casserole are delicious. Their breads are nice and fluffy. If you don't like meat, there's a abundance of raw veggies and cooked. I would go there for the veggies. Service is nice and they take away your plates. I think hot coffee is free as well but idk, they might have changed that. read more

Easily the best Golden Corral I have ever been to. Sooo many options, endless really. You will not get to try everything, which is saddening. The sweet potatoes are quite memorable. Even the banana pudding was pretty good (banana pudding at buffets can be sketch). My wife and I were passing through on our way back to Little Rock. We were very pleased with the selections on the buffet. The hot food was hot and fresh and the desserts were very good as well. For some reason, our server was not doing a very good job refilling our drinks. We are not complainers so we really weren't upset or anything. A manager saw us getting up to refill our own drinks and offered to refill them for us. He came by at least twice more and apologized for the server. We really didn't expect to be waited on at a buffet, but the manager was really concerned that we had a good dining experience. He ended up giving us a card for a free buffet and drink for our next visit. I was very impressed with this degree of customer attention by the manager. I am impressed. As my best friend said, this Golden Corral has renewed our faith in the chain. We were punctual enough to arrive just before breakfast change over (10:45am) so not only did we get both breakfast and lunch foods at the reduced breakfast price, we also got fresh, hot food for lunch. The food itself was flavorful and delicious. I burned my tongue once or twice because i was impatient to eat it. Our server (Derek, really nice person) kept our drinks full and even brought a larger glass of OJ over cause he heard my friend say he wished the cups they had out for juice were bigger. They seemed to know just when to show up without being the helicopter server. I will certainly be going back, I'd rather drive the extra hour to this one than eat at the one we have that's only 45min away. We have eaten at many GCs around the country. This is by far the best food we have had. It was all well prepaired and had very good flavor. All of the serving areas were well stocked and fresh. Everything was well labeled. I'm not a big desert person but with everything else so good I had to try some. I was not disappointed. The staff was busy but we never felt neglected. The worst trip I HAVE EVER HAD!!! It was 11:00 when a couple of my friends & me came in. Every single thing should have been hot & fresh. But 3/4 of the food was barely Luke warm if even that. The bottom of Our rolls were hard as a rock . We all went for a 2nd plate. But it wasn't any better. One of us called the manager to our table and told her about how terrible the food is. At least we all got free gift cards for the next time we go. We was watching the manager and we wasn't the only ones complaining. She was going to tables all around the store. The Golden Corral has always been one of my favorite places to go eat at. That was one of the reasons we went to txrka. But it was a big disappointment that day. Went on 6/3/19 and was disgusted. Was getting a salad and felt water splatter on my hand. There is a sink about 5 feet behind the salad bar. Someone was washing a bowl and water was shooting off of the dirty bowl and getting all over the salad items. There is a machine like item on the shelf next to the sink to try to block the water, so they know that this is a problem. I tried to tell the person washing the bowl that all the food there was contaminated by the dirty water splashing but she did not understand English. So I informed the manager. The only good thing here was the cheesecake and fried catfish. My chicken tasted too salty and bland. My mash potatoes were cold along with my gravy. The steak fries weren't even cooked all the way. My salad was like biting into a onion. The lettuce was yellow and the ranch was discolored also. The desert was seriously lacking. The brownie was disgusting and the cake was dry and bland. Went with 3 grown kids, one grown visitor, and two year old grandson ask that we be seated together as told wasn't not possible. That some would have to sit one place and some at another. We ask to put a table together out walk way and still in eating area and were told no. Two of my guest are disabled and I m using a walker and oxygen.After stranding there for 15 minutes try to get the tables and now starting to have difficult breathing, we are offered an area all the way on other side at the end. Can't walk that far. So as we debate to leave since,we are just left standing up in isles in middle of eating area, another waitress puts the tables together and seats us, gets us drinks and waited on our table, after the first waitress, refused to wait the tables pulled together. So the lady waiting on us took our tables and worked her section also. Which got her a 20.00 tip. I don't think any employee should be allowed to treat the disabled and handicapped as she did. Firstly, I would like to say that my husband and I are on the road for a living and we were on the way back home driving 13 hours. We were starving, like I wanna eat my less prominent hand hungry. So we start reminiscing about the awesomeness that Golden Corral used to be. So it was decided, we would stop at the nearest Golden Corral along our route. 2 hours later we have arrived at one. Now we hadn't been to one in close to 4 years so we were a little shocked at the $30 price tag on two buffets and two drinks, however, with it having been so long since we had went it was understandable. Price goes up over time. So we meet our waitress and I gotta say she was the best part. A sweet woman named Paula helped us with removing old dishes and refilling drinks. I liked her. Anyway, we are so freaking hungry so we go to get our food. We return with plates loaded for a well deserved feast. First bite was cold so I tried something else, it was cold as well. Same with my husband's food. Every thing that should have been hot was cold. Like I had mentioned earlier though, we are incredibly hungry so we eat anyway. It was kind of like when your church has an after service pot luck and you get there and the food is decently flavored but like warm to cold in temperature. Ew, ate anyway so I didn't get hunger angers. So I'm like, hey, it's alright we can just eat $30 worth of dessert because even though it's bad for us I wanna get my money's worth. Nah, dessert that should've been cold was warm and the cream cheese icing on my carrot cake tasted a little soured so I didn't eat it, not to mention when I got to my table I noticed there was some chocolate something on the back of my little carrot cake plate. I don't know, the whole thing was highly disappointing but I had no right to ask for a refund because, like I said before, I was so hungry I could've eaten my hand.
