Just recently moved to area and was ordering take out atleast 4 times a month. I live about 10 miles away and order was messed up and I called to make them aware they forgot a kids meal I was assured it would be taken care of on next visit but unfortunately I was denied. I and my family have always loved eating here, unfortunately saturday night was the worst. My husband and my daughter complained about the total lack of service. No refills on drinks, two unlimited catfish dinners were purchased, with no refills on those. No rolls or fritter' s were given. They seated us by the kitchen doors which was totally fine, but when your able to see your server sitting on her butt in the back, flirting and talking, that is not good. Another table in the same section, got up and left, due to lack of service. Our family got a first row seat to listening to the servers make fun of the family when they left. We have been eating here for years and always stop when we are in the area. Ths would be an easy 4 or 5 star if there were better sides options. The all you can eat catfish is really well prepared. It is light and has very little oil for being fried. The apple fritters before the meal are wonderful, hot, and fresh. The rolls that come delivered during the meal are hot and dripping in melted butter! Service is always fast and friendly and the only time we have had to wait was a Friday or Saturday night. Husband wanted catfish. I reminded him the last time we stopped here it wasn't very good. Unfortunately it's just slightly better than before. Probably not enough to make me stop again for a while. When the girl brought them we asked for more than 2 each but she only had 4 in her basket and they were cold. She did bring more later that were fresh and hot. We both got the catfish dinner, husband got mashed potatoes, I got the fries that tasted like they were cooked at lunch. While the flavor of the fish was good it was cold. I substituted a salad for the coleslaw and it was good. The waitstaff were all pretty young and hanging in the back chatting mostly could use some supervision. That's probably the whole issue. I hate it because it looks like they have done some renovation outside and it's a handy place for us to stop when we travel. I had not been here for 12 years. Very disappointed the fish was not as good as the last to time I was here. It was a regular place I ate at years ago. The target sauce was the worst it was served in a little 2 oz cup and it was warm. The restroom was disgusting did not even use it because it was so dirty and smelly. We've stopped at Catfish Roundup 4 times in the past when we have traveled on I-40. Today we stopped and the catfish was horrible..it was fatty and tasted like mud. We couldn't eat it and told the cashier and she said our catfish can be muddy tasting sometimes. We had to pay for it anyway....will never stop there again! This is the kind of place where the serving staff treats you like a regular even on your first visit. We were seated and served quickly. While waiting for our order someone brought us hot apple fritter balls to snack on. The food was great, especially the catfish. My husband liked the burgers well enough that he ordered another one to go before we left to heat up later. My husband said the men's bathroom was very dirty. The whole experience left us with almost a nauseous feeling. With all due respect to anybody else who has reviewed, this joint is one of the best eats in all of Oklahoma, and it was an above-average experience to boot. This was the third time I had eaten at Catfish Round-up, which is just off Exit 200 along I-40 north of Seminole. My first two experiences were to-go orders, and this was a dine-in. Each time, I've had the catfish dinner. I figured that's what they do, right? I'm not even a 'catfish' person, but their is fresh, flaky but juicy, and the fact that each of their sides gives ample competition to the main course is a plus. The mashed potatoes and white gravy were moist and marvelous, and the cole slaw was above average. Rolls were hot and soft, and the apple fritters are ridiculous. My only off mark about the food was the sweet tea. They could use some help from a good ol' fashioned Texas barbecue joint on the sweet tea, but I would have also been happy with a Coke. The service was above average, not perfect. But they were also packed. For being packed, it was a-ok. It's a neat place, complete with a little gift shop and if I'm not mistaken, at least at one time, they had an aquarium there. Kind of funny, I suppose. Alas, if you're looking for a stop along I-40, I can't recommend Catfish Round-Up highly enough. For two people, we got out of there at $23 plus tip. You're not going to top this place in that area and probably not even the state. read more

If not for the older group who have eat here from the beginning and can not have flavor in food and the few unsuspecting travelers this place would be out of business. Their " butterfly shrimp " is smashed paper then that all you taste is what I can only compare to the smell of a swamp . You are never afford anything to replace your horrible meal or an apology. Just a shrug . The burger wow I don't even know how it gets so thin but wow and dry extremely dry but why wouldn't it be as thin as it is . The kids that work there are very rude and have absolutely no costumer service experience and truly act like it is your fault you got lousy service and food that you can't eat . We are long-time customers from Shawnee, but the food on our visit on 1-9-21 was awful. The coleslaw tasted like it was going bad, the mashed potatoes and gravy were inedible, and the fritters weren't warm in the least. And they charged $1.99 for a loaded baked potato, which only adds cheese & bacon. Luckily, the catfish was good, if one doesn't mind eating only catfish. Would have mentioned this complaint to someone, but all workers were young. This restaurant seems to want to rest on its laurels--a good way to go out of business. read more

Seven years ago, my husband & I stopped here for dinner on a cross country trip from Atlanta to California. We had such an incredible meal then, that we always commented that if we ever found ourselves back on I-40 in OK, that we should eat there again. Well the opportunity presented itself today, so we stopped in for dinner. The service was exceptional. As soon as we were seated, 2 piping hot blueberry fritters were brought to us! OMG, they were to die for!! Then, we both had the catfish dinner. Everything was fresh & served very hot. The dinner rolls were also as good as we remembered. This is our first visit to this restaurant. WOW!!! Can't say enough about how good the food was. After reading some of the reviews we were a little weary of trying it. We don't put a lot of stock into some of posted reviews. But do try to get some feedback. I don't know where some of the previous reviewers are from and what their level of expertise comes from. The catfish meal was outstanding. Loved the breading. It has a great flavor and a little bite to it. Being from Texas a little spice only enhances the taste. The catfish was flaky and fresh and cooked to perfection. The French fries were crispy and tender on the inside. No soggy fries here!! The homemade yeast rolls were soft and buttery just like mama's. The cole slaw was delicious but needed to be colder. My hubby took home eight delicious apple fritters. The waitress gave him extras because he loved them so much. And I had to take an apricot fried pie to go. It was a nice size with lots of delicious filling. So do not be put off by other reviews on this page. This restaurant is a gem. And from their packed parking lot I'd say others like it as much as we did. Another plus was the wait staff. They were so friendly and made our experience here a great one. Catfish round up was absolutely an awful experience. The steak my husband got was nearly inedible and burnt. It was BLACK. My catfish dinner was cold and so salty i couldn't even eat it. I mentioned the issue with my husbands steak to our waitress and all she did was go to the back/yell at the cooks for the entire resturaunt to hear. I have known this restaurant all of my life. I even worked here in high school. The service was friendly and fast. Free apple fritters came out fast and hot just absolutely delicious. Food was delivered in short amount of time. 2 of us had the catfish and 1 had chicken strips. One of the catfish dinners were all you can eat. They came back offering more when we gothic. Fish was cooked perfectly nice and soft flaky with a crisp batter. Chicken was a good chicken strip cooked well with a good flavor to the breeding. The bad: place was filthy and unappetizing because of it; the catfish was a huge disappointment considering one assumes this is their specialty. Was not hot, not crispy, and tasted as if they had been pre-fried and sitting out for awhile. I kept thinking about how I wished I was eating the Cracker Barrel catfish instead! My husband ordered the BBQ brisket sandwich. He left half of it on his plate. Again, he felt the brisket had been sitting around in a pot for a couple of days. Presentation was non-existent. I don't mind places adding gratuity to large groups. But it usually isn't more than 20%, and you are usually told about it in advance. I was flat out robbed. And this was done to everyone in our group. It wasn't like they just added the entire tip to my check. They charged all 5 or 6 of us who were paying a tip around the same amount. I am totally disgusted with this and will never be returning. I can not recommend this place to anyone, but if you do go pay close attention to your check. We have gone to this restaurant many times, and have enjoyed the food. However, our meal today was not so good. My husband ordered the all you can eat catfish and the fish was strong and bad tasting. I tried a piece to see if it was just him (grin), and the fish tasted "muddy" to me, too. We alerted the waitress and she was very good about asking if he wanted his dinner replaced, but the fish tasted so bad that it spoiled his desire for anything else. 3 stars is as generous as the 17% tip i left. As with anywhere I guess, over time as the old breed moves on and the service dissipates. We had to chase down everyone for service and refills every time we needed something and they seemed to be put out when we needed something. The best part was the catfish of course.. This used to be my favorite place for catfish, but not after yesterday's lunch. I got the catfish, which tasted old, my husband got the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. The brown gravy was only on the mashed potatoes and I could see from across the table that it was very dry. The apple fritters were doughy and drowned in powdered sugar. However, the wait staff were all wonderful. Very polite and checked on us often. I was so disappointed!
