I haven't really interacted too much with the people working there, but I've never had any issues with checking out. Most of the items worth checking out are by the front, but I've found some great clothing and artwork in the back areas. Plus, they have discounts on select items that changes on a regular basis. First off, it has something for every budget and size. There's a $10 rack AND couture items that can cost $400-$1k+. My regular shopping budget is closer to $100, and I've never left here empty handed. Today, I was on the hunt for "holiday cocktail" wear and found not only a festive, sparkly A-line skirt but also a beautiful DKNY cocktail dress just my size--and walked out having spent LESS than $115 total! The hardest part will be deciding which to wear to this weekend's party. What else sets Vida Style apart is that, unlike other neighborhood shops, there's PLENTY of inventory without sensory overload. Having worked in retail, I like seeing racks that are organized (size and color!) As I walked by before they opened I spied a beautiful pair of black Kate Spade sandals in the display window that I desperately wanted. This told me 2 things: 1) they are probably the main clothing provider for their emergency shelter clients 2) newer stuff is downstairs. Clerks were pleasant. Friendly vibe, though they didn't say much to us. One was very upbeat with colorful description when a person asked what was being served at the soup kitchen that evening. Her enthusiasm made me happy.
