As an amazon prime addict I will just start out by saying HIRE CATHY!! I base everything I buy off of reviews so I hope this will be helpful for everyone!! I am a diy procrastinator that thinks I can do anything and everything by myself. I was trying to do way to much and I needed advice on what should be done first and when it should be done and basically how to create a wedding. (I've never done it before!!). I called Cathy and we clicked immediately. She understood I was ALL over the place right away and took action. She made me a check list with things needed to be done MONTHLY / WEEKLY and also helped me prioritize them. I went from "I have to do a million things right now!" to "ok, I have to do this, this week". Stress levels totally subsided and with her work sheets and weekly calls everything was unbelievably more manageable. I had a very wierd nontraditional wedding (rainbow bohemian outdoor picnic) in which Cathy helped by pointing out things I would never have thought about!! She genuinely loved all of my ideas from fairy girls in rainbow tutus with bubble guns down to having giant jenga and corn hole!! She helped in so many ways with her creativity, spot on scheduling and organizing, and of course making it happen!! It wasn't a sunny day on my wedding and started to rain by nightfall and none of that mattered. Cathy and her crew set everything up (since it was so iffy about the rain) that every aspect was taken care of. All I had to do was not trip as I walked down the aisle and nail my first dance!! We used Cathy from start to finish, from the moment we first had a tour of our would be venue to the day of the wedding. We had a really clear vision of what we wanted our wedding day to be like, and she perfectly executed it down to every last detail. We wanted a very relaxed, but detailed bohemian aesthetic. She understood our vision immediately, even though I'm sure every wedding and couple that she works with is entirely different. We went into the entire process thinking that if we had the design aspects down and knew the big vendor choices, we had the hard stuff done with. But there are so many logistical aspects to wedding planning that few couples ever understand the true scope of beforehand, and Cathy made our lives ten thousand times easier by taking on the majority of them herself and/or seamlessly guiding us through them. When it comes to the actual day of the wedding, there is no one better. She coordinated everything with all the vendors, from caterers to musicians to shuttle drivers to florists, etc. We had our wedding in upstate NY, but the majority of our vendors were from NYC. It didn't matter. She pulled off the set-up and timing of the motions of the entire day without one single hiccup. Best of all, she is such a sweet and enjoyable person to not only speak to and be with for the many months leading up to your wedding, but she is just such a calming and pleasant energy to be around the day of the wedding when emotions are running high. Pretty sure nothing I could say could truly encapsulate how Instrumental Cathy and her team were to planning our wedding! By the end of it all, she was way more than just a planner, she was our friend! The way she structured planning made it feel like a lot got done at exactly the right times, so we were never really overwhelmed. We had phone calls with her every two weeks to go over what we needed to do before our next call and she really kept us on track. Even to the point where she would make me calendar events to pay vendors on time. When she told me we were having our LAST call 6 weeks before the wedding, I actually got a bit sad because they had really become a part of our process. Above and beyond is really the best phrase to describe Cathy. At one point during the actual wedding, a few of my bustles were coming undone and one string ripped off (too much dancing) and Cathy had the awesome idea to Zip tie them AND she made the ziptie invisible! The next day, I was walking to our farewell brunch and kept thinking....what went wrong?? And I couldn't really think of ANYTHING. We were told by several friends to expect 5% to go wrong and to not focus on it and instead to focus on the 95% that went right. Legitimately, every single thing went right. Cathy is incredible and I could not be more confident in recommending her. I would not have been able to get to my wedding day without her and during the day of the wedding, Cathy ensured that everything ran smoothly. Cathy is meticulous, thoughtful, and makes sure that every detail is carefully accounted for. Not only does she handle every planning detail but also goes above and beyond to make sure that if there is any uncertainty in even the smallest item, it is alleviated. For example, I was worried (and of course this seems trivial now), but I was worried that the color of our forks wouldn't match the linen color selected for the tables, and Cathy drove out to the rental company and took pictures of multiple color selections for me to not only demonstrate that the colors matched, but also so that if I didn't like the colors together, I had other options. As someone who was planning my wedding from far away, this was instrumental. It was little things like this, which happened more frequently than I had expected, that I fully trusted Cathy and could not recommend her more. Cathy was wonderful to work with. Unfortunately, we had a tight budget so was only able to hire her services for day of coordination and some consultation hours. She was great, we had a DIY wedding at The Farm at Pond Lily (in a barn) so there were a lot of miscellaneous details that require tremendous attention to detail and good execution. And our wedding was executed beautifully, we were so impressed with her abilities to execute and help plan our DIY wedding. She was very on top of things and was such a good sounding board for DIY ideas and suggestions. She can also be hired to help create some DIY projects as well. I was so happy that we went with her as on the day of my wedding, I had NOTHING to worry about besides enjoying myself, drinking and dancing the night away with my husband. And this is all thanks to her organizational skills and her tips weeks prior to the wedding. She had many touch base meetings with me to make sure that she understood my vision. Cathy is the best. THE BEST. It's hard to imagine capturing in words how great Cathy is at what she does, what a joy it is to work with her, and how wonderful and stress free our wedding week and weekend were as a result of her over-the-top efforts. In fact, I'm sure I will not be able to do so. It hopefully suffices to say that you would be remiss to not consult with Cathy first about your event, and to then book her quickly before someone beats you to her. After getting engaged we weren't sure if we needed or wanted a wedding planner; we -- I -- thought it might be too pricey for our budget. But after working with Cathy I found my foot in my mouth several times over. She's so organized, so knowledgeble, and so detail oriented; with the biweekly calls to stay in sync and ontrack, and the lists upon lists upon lists, among other things, I realized quickly what a bargain we were getting. Cathy is literally the best. It's amazing how she made the process of planning our wedding stress free especially given how overwhelming I expected it to be. I even found myself looking forward to our planning calls! Cathy helped us execute our vision to a tee and the vendors she recommended were on point and worked so well together under Cathy's guidance. She is flexible and accommodating, and really wants the couples she works with to have the time of their lives. The wedding went off without ANY complications (of course, like I said, Cathy is the best) and many of our guests commented on it being one of the most fun weddings they've ever been to. If you are considering using Cathy as your wedding planner, don't think about it anymore and just go with it! She was amazing. She is so helpful, professional, and easy to work with. I can't image our day without Cathy there! She took care of everything so when our wedding day came we could just focus on getting ready and enjoy the special time. I was impressed with her knowledge of all the surrounding vendors and recommendations for a rehearsal dinner venue or advice on how much cake to order/other wedding insight. She plans phone calls throughout the duration of the planning period and gives you different projects to work on so you make sure to get all the planning done in a great frame of time. She even creates a floor plan specific to your venue and a day of schedule so you know exactly what to expect and when. My fiance and I were excited to DIY much of our wedding. We wanted to be really hands-on but had no idea where to start. Cathy was so helpful in providing us guidance, structure, and timelines for when we should be working on identifying vendors and working on different pieces. She thought of everything! Logistics, back-up plans, and all the small details that never occurred to us. Also, we live in New York City and the wedding was outside Hudson. Cathy was integral in helping us find some of the most amazing vendors. She gave us recommendations based on our personalities and what we wanted for our big day. We ended up having a fantastic team working at the wedding, all led by Cathy and Abbi. The wedding itself was perfect and so much of that was because of all the work Cathy put into it months in advance. One of the reasons we chose our venue was because it came with Cathy's day of coordinating services. Turned out to be a phenomenal decision. Cathy knows every detail of a wedding inside and out. I was never nervous that something would slip through the cracks because I knew Cathy would catch it. Similarly, Cathy was patient with and appreciative of my attention to detail and worked with me to make sure I had the wedding of my dreams. When our DJ did not meet our expectations the day of (played the wrong song for the processional, called me by the wrong name) Cathy followed up and was able to get our money back by the time we woke up the next day. She is a calm, professional and knowledgeable advocate and I cannot recommend her services highly enough. read more

Cathy knows a great deal about vendors in the area. She's great with suggestions and ideas. I didn't have a lot in mind when I started planning our wedding, I'm not the kind of girl who pictured it exactly from the start, and she was really helpful in guiding me towards what ended up being a beautiful day (despite the rain). We had a couple of mixups with some vendor prices and agreements, but otherwise things went pretty smoothly. We had a couple of major hiccups on the day-of, but she handled things quickly and professionally. On the day-of, she is professional, almost to a fault (I make jokes when I'm nervous, Cathy does not). I would like to echo many of the comments in the other reviews on this page. Put simply, Cathy and her team are amazing at their jobs. She is a true professional who is detail oriented without being obtrusive. Throughout the process, my wife and I counted on her to sweat the small stuff so we didn't have to. We can say without a doubt that Cathy is the best in the business. No matter what time or day it is if you need her she is there and I needed her a lot. I keep saying that if I did not have her help I probably would not have gotten married and it is true she is so organized which I love! Cathy was fantastic! She went above and beyond through every step of the planning process. Our wedding would not have been possible without her. The weekend of my wedding was so hectic my dog got loose at our venue and Cathy trudged through the woods in the rain with me for 3 hours helping me look for her. She handled each vendor so I could enjoy the day. She even helped finish the dessert table that was running hours behind in completion. Cathy was absolutely instrumental in our Upstate wedding planning process. With both my husband and I living in the City, and my family living in the Midwest, we knew very little about the area, and even less about what a"barn" wedding entails.
