Scammers, pure and simple. It has been two years, more or less, since I last had my teeth cleaned at a reputable dental clinic. Since then, I lost my insurance because of my wife's retirement and then had some delay due to the scarcity of clinics that would accept medicare supplemental insurance. I was relieved when I found this so-called "Dentistry." Next early morning, I was there hoping for a straightforward cleaning. Stupid me. I was told that they had to have most of my teeth extracted! Why? They were no good, inflamed roots, shattered, broken, no substance, all old fillings needed to be replaced; teeth roots exposed, bacteria everywhere, total collapse. They also asked about my age (75 years old) and if I had a guardian (I don't need any freaking guardian). Very clever of them. They took tons of CT scans, x-rays, photos of my teeth, but refused to do a simple cleaning. It turned out that my insurance did not cover dental, so I paid out of pocket -- guess what -- it cost me a mere $79 for an hour and a half of four of them running around me with their tools, measuring my gums (that now I'm suspicious of the results thereof) and basically telling me that I was old and stupid (I do not agree with the latter). Stay away from this dentist. We were looking for a new dentist. The only good thing about this office is the front desk service. The scheduling and check in/check out service was great and the individuals associated with the were so kind. Once the huge that and Dr gets involved it goes downhill. Let just say that upon getting a second opinion at another dentist did we find that their plan of care included needed work that the second opinion did not see. For one of my children there were 4 supposed cavities that didn't even exist. We are talking about over 500 dollars of work that was nonexistent. Plus my kids were treated unkindly with multiple people treating in a negative manner that lacked positivity. read more

It's a dentist 's office that won't actually clean your teeth or do anything useful. They just take a lot of X-rays and photos (to bill your insurance company for!), and then refer you to an ACTUAL dental practice who treats patients. I should have known when it was easy to get a quick appointment with them for my husband that it might be because they don't have any patients. It takes weeks to get into reputable dentist offices right now, so we'll just have to wait to be seen by a real dentist. read more

The facility is very bright and clean, the entire fleet of staff are all very warm and friendly, until their aggressive, expensive and extensive recommendations are declined. Some patients may want any sign of a future potential issue addressed extensively and immediately; I personally only want to address actual problems and practice good personal hygiene while engaging in regular, routine care. read more

I have seven people in our family currently seeing the two dentists here and we've been very pleased. We recently moved to the area and had been looking for a good clinic. They are great with all of my kids. I had a tricky filling that needed to be redone from work at an old clinic. My root had finally died and I was in terrible amounts of pain. The tooth itself has been sensitive for a long time, but it suddenly got worse very quickly. I had to go in three different times to try and get it worked on, but it turns out my body is very tricky when it comes to anesthetics and it was proving very difficult. I finally had to be sedated. Dr. Lee was so attentive and careful in his assessment of my situation and how difficult this was. He spent a lot of time trying to help me be comfortable and get something to work for me and my situation. During the process of getting me sedated for the procedure, my husband said Dr. Lee spent almost half an hour studying my x-rays and my case, evaluating carefully how he would handle every scenario, seeing as my situation was a bit tricky. He was very considerate about what would be best for me. I left the clinic that day pretty out of it, obviously, but now that I'm healed up, I am so grateful to Dr. Lee. He changed my quality of living, and did it in the most caring and respectful way possible. The staff has always been nice and courteous. The place is clean and well-kept. Not overly inviting, but hey, it's a dentist's office. I've had to be a little vigilant in communicating with my insurance and the billing staff, but I expect that when it comes to being my own (and my family's) advocate. read more

Surprised by the negative reviews on here. My and my fiance just moved to the area and decided to try this place. They have Saturday hours (as well as some evening hours) which is really helpful. We both went in for a general cleaning and they are really thorough - it seems like that's what some of the other reviews are complaining about - but we WANT that. Staff is really friendly. I had to come back a few weeks later for a crown and some fillings and when I came back the nurse (probably not the right term) who I had never seen before knew I was getting married and what month! I was impressed that they had probably written down that fact about their patient so that they could be more personal. Crown and fillings procedure was fairly quick and totally painless, but what made me the happiest is you get to watch TV and choose what channel to watch. Being about to watch The Real Housewives was a great way to distract me from what was going on in my mouth. No negatives for me so far. The office is very nice - they have coffee and water bottles and TV in the waiting area. read more

The staff are nice but that is about the only good thing I have to say about them. I don't know why I went back to them for several appointments. They perform services on your teeth without your consent or checking if your insurance will cover it so that they can charge you. I also feel like every time I go there the cleanings get shorter and shorter. Several people I know who go there were told within the same few weeks that they had gum disease and needed some expensive treatment. It just seems very shady. My daughter was back from college - this was like summer of 2018. So I sent her up to have her teeth cleaned and they said they found a lot of cavities..our insurance would cover it!!! She had been seeing the dentist elsewhere on a regular basis and that was never brought up. She had some work done on a tooth by Catoctin Corner Dentistry and was having issues. The office was closed and she was going out of town. I sent her to another dentist to fix the issue and have another opinion about the dental work that Catoctin Corner wanted to do. After having a 2nd opinion by a another dentist he determined she didn't need any additional dental work. She hasn't had any issues since and no other dentist has identified excessive work to be done. I went to just went to have my teeth cleaned. This doctor REQUIRES xrays to do dental cleanings even if you aren't experiencing ANY issues. I allowed the bite wings. I was not informed that I would have to do an entire panoramic of my teeth prior to the bite wings. Why would I have bite wings if they are going to do a panoramic? I know my insurance covers it!!! Based on numerous articles and research I was uncomfortable with excessive exposure to radiation. I refused the panoramic xray and the doctor instead of providing a waiver like most doctors he refused to clean my teeth unless exposing me with the unnecessary radiation. read more

This place is SHADY!!! I'm pretty sure they are committing insurance fraud like my last dentist that is now in jail. Price has change for fluoride treatment by almost double 6 months ago. I'm not sure if it's the billing department or the dentist but this place is off. They are not transparent with their billing and when I requested a copy I was told I would have to come in to see the charges. That's your first red flag right there. I think the dentist did ok work on my crown but the billing department is not transparent at all. Just go somewhere else and save yourself the hassle. read more

Not sure how to start. These guys are not responsible and are not organized. Handed them both kids records since their original dentist retired over the summer and scheduled an appt. First they lost the records ( I guess they are not aware of HIPPA) Then they told me both kids had five cavities. I was a bit surprised since they saw their original dentist 6 months ago. Anyway, since my 18 year old was going to college overseas and we did not have the time to get a second opinion I went ahead and authorized the work and still not sure it was necessary. Same thing with my other daughter who is also in college. I had reach out to them several times regarding the lost records since I came back from overseas but no lack. The staff here truly cares and has their clients in their best interest. Dr.M is very sympathetic with my never ending tooth issues despite taking amazing care of my teeth. She gives me all of the pointers to help avoid future issues and this place is very honest and transparent with costs (and willing to find other options for what you can't afford). All of the staff is extremely kind and the office is beautiful!!! You even get to watch tv while they do work which helps a ton. I would highly recommend to everyone I know! read more

I will preface this with the fact that I am terrified of going to the dentist. I had such a terrible experience with my last dentist that I put off going again for over a year, but a recent altercation with a crouton forced me to persevere. Catoctin Corner got me in in 1 day as a new patient. Dr. Lee is kind, gentle and patient. The supporting staff are all personable and accommodating. My somewhat complicated issue is under control and I shall no longer live in fear! They were highly concerned with my comfort level and I had a pain free experience. This place is terribly DISORGANIZED and NASTY! I was saddled with a $600 bill after asking if a crown procedure was covered, while on the chair, waiting for the unforeseen procedure to be done. If they had checked with my insurance company, and waited just three more weeks, the procedure would have been covered! I unwisely returned to this practice for what I thought was a routine dental cleaning and was told by the dental hygienist, Amy, that I needed to have x-rays completed. I told her that I had limited time, since I was having this cleaning done during my work hours, and I did not want an x-ray completed because I just had an x-ray completed last year (I don't like unnecessary exposure to radiation). I just wanted my teeth cleaned, and she proceeded to berate me before running out of the room, and telling the dentist that I did not want x-rays completed! Upon returning, she gave me a most painful cleaning, even having the instrument scrape over my crown, which hurt like heck! My gums were bleeding and my mouth was full of blood, and then she asked me if I would like to make my next appointment, before telling me that I was required to get x-rays done next time! (no choice)! Never, never again will I ever return to this place! It was a most HORRIFIC and TERRIBLE, terrible experience! Uggggh! read more
