My experience yesterday was very good with Dr Peter Havalos when he recemented an onlay. However, I was surprised to find on checkout that Norbo Dental is no longer in-network (as of June 1, 2024) with my Federal Employee Plan BCBS Dental. I was told I had been sent a notice (which I never received). I would have given 5 stars, but sadly probably cannot afford the care here anymore. read more

Norbo dentist provides great dental care and treatment. For their past service and professional treatment, I am not leaving one star. However, they made an administrative mistake and they refused to acknowledge it (I'm sure this is for legal reasons, but this is a bummer because I just wanted an apology, not even my money back). They assured me my last treatment was in network, and I planned for it to be. When I left the office for the last time I paid my copay, and they confirmed that I had nothing else to pay them; I planned to no longer be a patient with them. However, that apparently was not the case, and I was already out of network during my last treatment, and I had more to pay? I ended up paying half a thousand dollars for not knowing this. Even, when trying to reach my insurance company and requesting for the coverage they said would be sent to me (it wasn't) they will not offer to pay the amount this dental company is asking for, they will only give me $250. When I called them, I tried to have a conversation with Dona where she refused to acknowledge any mistake or sympathy to my situation and constantly shifted the blame on to me. I even took ownership when she accused me that this was because I didn't communicate enough, after which she still chose to not acknowledge or take any accountability over the situation. They offer great dental services and if you plan on pursuing dental service with them try to get everything in writing beforehand, so this doesn't happen to you. Dona if you are reading this, I have no ill will against you and I'm not trying to scam your office. Why would I when I've made every payment in the past? Dr.Norbo please work with your office to make sure this doesn't happen to a patient again, please hold them accountable. Please be precise with your patients when you are dropping their plan, or when a patient plans on leaving and you assure them there is no further bill. It's unethical to have patients be the middleman and pay for the mistakes of professional dental/medical services and insurance companies. read more

I just had a routine cleaning today at Norbo dental. The dental hygienist was very gentle and thorough. Then the dentist came in and looked at my x-rays and my teeth and gave me the good news that everything looks good. I've been going there for maybe 10 years, and I always get the best service with state of the equipment and polite, skillful and gentle staff read more

This place is crap. They did a filling on me that fell out and it had to be redone at another dentist in Sterling that made the comment the tooth was not prepped correctly. Just took my daughter to get a cleaning at this dentist in Sterling and her 4 fillings that were done at Norbo were also not done correctly and 2 have cavities underneath. One has air underneath. Terrible. What a waste of money, time and risk to our dental health. read more

I had an emergency dental need and didn't have an established dentist in the area since we recently moved here. A friend referred me to Norbo Dental and I'm SO grateful that she did. They fit me into their schedule to evaluate my dental situation and then worked me into the schedule the next day to fix the issue. I love the fact that they take the conservative road rather than going straight to the most invasive, most expensive option. Everyone in the office is SO nice and that really helped to ease my nerves. They even apologized for the fact that I had to wait a little while (not long at all!) for my initial appointment- even though they were doing ME a favor by fitting me in! Why do I drive over an hour from Alexandria to Purcellville to get my teeth cleaned, you might ask? The same reason my whole family still does, and countless other people, too: Dr. Norbo is the best. Our entire clan has been going to him since we moved to Northern Virginia 17 years ago. And he used to be next to the Eden Center in Falls Church. That was when HE was commuting from Purcellville to Northern Virginia, but eventually that got old, he sold his practice, and opened one much closer to his home. When he moved, we followed. When you find a good dentist (or doctor...or mechanic...or psychic, whaa...?) you go with them. Quality specialists are hard to find. Dr. Norbo has a great "bedside manner," so to speak. He is warm and friendly, taking all the discomfort out of the typical visit to the dentist. He is also incredibly skilled and knowledgeable. He doesn't recommend unnecessary procedures, but always knows when you can't wait any longer for a filling or a root canal. The office staff is great, too, from the receptionists who greet you to the hygienists cleaning those pearly whites. Everyone in the office is kind and creates a relaxed, low-pressure atmosphere. You will usually have the same hygienist when you come; you will get to know her well, and she'll get to know you, so your bi-annual visit is almost like a chance to catch up with friends. No, really! I appreciate, too, that you are mailed reminders about your appointments, and phoned a few days ahead of time to confirm. For someone who has the tendency to flake out on "plans" made 6 months in advance, this is a very welcome touch. Trekking out to Purcellville twice a year from Northern Virginia has been well worth it to be able to stay with Dr. Norbo and his office staff! read more

Norbo Dental has been taking great care of my family for many years and last week they helped one of our out-of-town wedding guests with an emergency appointment. I was confident they would be able to help and they never disappoint. Our guest was very pleased with the work and thankful that they were able to squeeze into the schedule on such short notice. Fully agree with the other 5-star review. We moved to the area several years ago. Our previous dentist recommended Dr. Norbo via some internal searches that he could do. We have not been disappointed. Our previous dentist was all about trying sell us expensive teeth capping (30K + [and they'll arrange financing] ). Our previous dentist also told me that I "needed" to have expensive work done. NOT !! Dr Norbo said "no way -- your teeth are fine." "I am committed to the heath of your teeth and gums." And he means it. He did uncover a potentially serious problem that ultimately required me to have more advanced gum/jaw surgery. His office staff is topnotch and he always incorporates the latest and best technology in his practice? Ever had a filling done with a laser - completely painless? If the situation warrants, that's an option. Overall, the best dentist and dental practice we have been patients of -- anywhere. read more

I seriously cannot say enough about this dentist! I had some cosmetic work I wanted to get done, this office was quick, friendly, and worked with my insurance company to get me the best price! A price that did not even come close to what I've heard others have paid! I can be very picky about the appearance of my teeth, maybe too picky, and Dr. Kirk Norbo was more than happy to make any changes until I was completely satisfied. The staff is friendly and helpful, and have gone above and beyond to help me through this process. I have not been to see a dentist longer than I would like to admit. I did a couple weeks of research and found that I wanted to give Norbo Dental a try. What a great decision. I went in yesterday for a consult. I let them know ahead of time that I have severe anxiety in general and not only going to the dentist. It is more of the finding out what is wrong that causes the anxiety rather than the work actually being done. Dr. Kirk Norbo assured me that this was a judgement free office and they prided themselves on causing very little pain. I had four cavities and needed to have a chipped tooth rebuilt and a cleaning of course. The office told me that it could be a while to schedule but they would see what they could do. Next morning I get a call asking if I could come in. I couldn't run fast enough to get to my car. Long story short the work got done with absolutely no pain. This was the best dental service I have ever had. Everyone that was apart of my experience needs to be recognized. The other reviews were spot on! I signed up as a new patient, and was seen by Dr. Justin, Kirk's son. He is excellent. What I also liked, was they didn't give me a lecture about how I need to brush 2-3 times a day and floss regularly..who doesn't already know this? They were very good at what they do - from the kind ladies at the front desk to the assistants to the Doctors. You can tell people really like working here. I had less than a 5min wait (if that long) for both my appointments. The waiting room wasn't packed with people, but it always had people. If you like being treated well from a great dentist who runs an efficient schedule, this is the place for you. I had one filling a cleaning and a chipped tooth repaired. Was supposed to have 2 fillings right next to each other, but he said the second wasn't necessary. He also did a few things to tidy my teeth up a bit at no extra charge. We just moved to the area, and my whole family will be coming here for many years to come! read more

won't find a better dentist in loudoun - even though they are in Purcellville, it's worth the 10 minute drive to go see them. Both Kirk & Justin are very professional and 99.9% of the time they are pain free!! That's a HUGE thing, especially if you hate the dentist because of pain - well if that's the case - these guys are your men!! All the staff persons whom I interacted with were above and beyond my expectations. Having seen several dentists over the month prior to my visit at Dr. Norbo's office, I was growing increasingly frustrated with the poor communication and costs of my visits. Luckily, the staff at Dr. Norbo's office made me super happy that I didn't just stop looking for a place and settle for substandard service. They were understanding of my situation with not having dental insurance, and they were extremely reasonably priced. THE BEST DENTIST EVER! And fantastic hygienists as well! They are honest, caring and considerate. They went out of there way to help my husband when he had a cracked tooth from a filling from a previous dentist and they did everything they could to save his tooth. I have known dentists that will find "cavities" at every visit just to be able to charge the insurance company more, but these guys would NEVER do that! My family moved here in January and I have been searching for a new dentist for a while and since was cleaning was quickly approaching. I researched a few, found Drs Norbo and read the yelp reviews and they were spot on. I made an appointment a little while ago and as luck would have it my insurance changed 2 days prior. Needless to say, I didn't have my new insurance card, No problem, the receptionist was awesome, I'm sorry I didn't catch her name, but both ladies at the front desk were very pleasant and the lobby was clean and inviting. I filled out my forms, waited a few minutes and was greeted by Kelly, the hygienist. She was great, professional, thorough and friendly. Dr. Justin Norbo came in after and he was just as professional and considerate. I was very pleased with my visit and I think my husband will be as well when he goes next week. I would definitely recommend this practice. I have been through some nightmares to know the difference and very pleased this visit was a dream! read more
